So ... I'm not the only one who is concerned that the ash cloud will affect our weather. I guess it's a bit early to be extremely concerned. ...interesting situation.

I wouldn't be too worried unless day turns to night as it did 200+yrs ago! (it would have to be a really thick ash cloud for that!).

Finally got to see the first epsiode of Dr. Who Season 5. :D It was good. Can't wait to see more of it.
I haven't seen the episode where he regen'ed yet!

Grilled NY strip steaks last night on my new gas grill. Turned out just right, just salt and pepper (good steaks don't need much seasoning IMHO). Side of steamed broccoli, and some garlic cheese toast to go with it.

I've always grilled using charcoal, so this was my first attempt at gas grilling (apt complex doesn't allow charcoal grills, dang it!). May look at using some wood chips to impart some smoke flavor. :)

Hmmmm, sounds so good. We still have too much snow for a BBQ party. :(

And us lowly mods have to bring them drinks. (But they don't know what we put in them!!)

Man, Assembly programming is killing me. This semester altogether has been rough. Almost over, and the machines are still crunching though!!! :D

That behavior seems to be similar to most females of the species ... ;)

We males are enjoying this with a low pitched manly chuckle ... :D

It is Saturday, sunshine, no clouds, just below freezing. My computers crunching the PrimeGrid race love the weather. :)

BOINC is getting incredibly frustrating in the fact that it won't quit when it is supposed to. I set to program to quit crunching after I close the program, yet all cores are still at 100% and the program is still running. I have to go through and kill everything manually every time I need to use my computer for something that requires some power or speed. :|

I know, I shouldn't be doing anything that takes away from my crunching... But still.

Damn Star Trek (the new one) is a good flick. If anyone hasn't seen it, I highly recommend it.

Hmmm, change your setup so that the cores quit if you touch the keyboard ...
Open BOINC manager
Click on Advanced
Click on Preferences
Check that the Computing allowed boxes ("While computer is on batteries", "While computer is in use" and "Use GPU ....") are all empty.
Set the value for "Only after the computer has been idle for: minutes" to 0,5 or 1.0.

Now the apps show no activity ... and you have to waít for 30 - 60 seconds without touching your keyboard before they resume activity ...

Now you should have all the power you need ...it works well for me.

Quite true. I never had to mess with that before though--rather unfortunate. But yes, I will have to do that.
