Cottage cheese is fuckin' disgusting, and I don't appreciate you and Platypus trying to further your agendas every time real cheese gets mentioned in a thread. Hard cheese or GTFO....

i agree that cottage cheese is disgusting. I much prefer Farmer's cheese.

If I had my druthers, it would be a nice a hunk of yummy Gruyere. or a semi-soft smoked Pecorino--not that fake pecorino "romano" BS (sadly, I have yet to find this anywhere in the USA 🙁)

I like a nice camenbert too--anything that spreads over a nice crunchy baguette.

COTTAGE CHEESE! :awe:

I love how the OP doesn't reply to the posts that prove that he lied about his 'statistic' (not 1.6%). He also did this in his other thread where he didn't reply to those who had a list of legitimate arguments about Christianity but instead argued about abortion.

In any case, I prefer mozzarella :hmm:

felixthecat

oh wait that'd be too obvious

Im avoiding religion threads for now. Same people saying the same thing over and over. Not much real conversating going on. I dont even click on them because they just get my dander up. So much misinformation and ignorance begs for clarity and common sense.

I glanced at this one because my name came up. OP should let off the gas a tad. Take that from my own experience with threads on the subject going back to 2002. Throwing too much fuel on the fire doesnt end well - for anyone. :'(

Sorry, I'm not here 24/7.

I apologize about being wrong about the 1.7%. That was way too high.

How many atheists are there in America?
1,621,000.

In 2008, 1,621,000 Americans reported themselves to be atheists. This represents 0.7% of the total adult population of 228,182,000 at that time. This is based on the 2010 Statistical Yearbook of the United States Census Bureau.

WOW, talk about a terrible website. If they are going to list the Census Bureau, you would think they would post a LINK to their findings to the Census Bureau. LOL

LOL I see 45,984,000 total atheists when you tally up everything.

Take total atheists, add agnostics, add the no religions, and add the refused to reply. Doesn't seem to be that few to me.

Probably can add some from Unitarian, and from unspecified.

No religion and agnostic doesn't = atheist.

Let's be intellectually honest here.

An ARIS study conducted in 2008 asked American adults with which religion, if any, they identified themselves. Only 1.6% of American adults call themselves either Atheist or Agnostic.

I think all of them post on the Anandtech forums.

I think what HumblePie is saying is that, per your OP where you include atheists and agnostics as one, the number is larger than you say.

And really, I fail to see the point of coming up with studies to post here anyways. Nobody is saying there are more atheists than christians, right? I know I've always known I was part of a very small minority when it comes to religion. Kudos for pointing out the obvious, I guess.
