Arguments stemming from the position that Hillary would have won or should have won because she won the popular vote are pointless. Everyone knew that the goal was electoral votes, not total number of votes. If the goal was total number of votes, both candidates might have applied different strategies (or not). The total vote number is no more meaningful a number at this point than total number of trees on my property.
I don't see a particular need to change the EC, it just increases the influence for the large population centers that already have an overwhelming influence. The country does not need to revolve around the whims of just California and New York residents, the election should reflect the entire country.
