*sigh*
It's going to come down to games...
And Nintendo doesn't have the best track record in that area, since the SNES. There will be a lot of hype at first, probably great sales, but then....we'll see.
If this follows typical Nintendo console formula, we'll see:
A decline of quality third party games,
A decline of third party exclusives
Third party ports that are generally inferior to the other consoles
Eventually only first party, in-house Nintendo franchises to get excited about
Nintendo lives and dies on its in-house library, and that just hasn't been good enough the last two generations. We need to finally see prolonged, quality, committed third party stuff on a Nintendo console past the first year or two of release.
I'll probably get one...eventually...just because Mario and Zelda and usually always guaranteed masterpieces. But there simply has to be more...
