A new mgs game I think. I was watching purebeast live game stream so I might have missed some stuff. That, and a new uncharted, also the last of us left behind downloadable content. It's a continuation of the story I suppose.

The email was for a bundle with the Kindle Fire HDX 7" ($599 for the bundle). It also said there would be a limited amount of PS4 as well after midnight.

I checked about 1 AM EST (2 PM my time), and sure enough the bundle was available. I didn't want the Fire but below the bundle was the PS4 launch edition stand alone which I bought.

I think this was just a marketing idea from Amazon so that you could shop at their store after midnight as well.

I'll be back in the USA on Sunday an it is arriving on Tuesday.

I never downloaded many things on my PS3. What is with the double download for Contrast and Warframe?

I really like the controllers.

The three free codes you get with the systems, the one for the free month of PS+ did not work for me.
 
Can someone PLEASE help with my question here, I'm going to be a PS4 owner in 3 or so weeks and I have an SSD, I'm really curious.

Jeff describes the load times as "harsh" because it's clearly still copying the game to the HDD while playing the game.


Can someone, somewhere please for the love of god tell me if it's possible to install a game in FULL before playing the game so this poor load behaviour doesn't occur? Anyone know? I'm a complete load time nazi / SSD owner. I just want to be sure that as long as I'm patient enough to install the FULL game my first experience with a game will be the best.


(Even if I leave the game at the "start" pause menu, will it copy the whole disc to the drive then, as long as I wait?)
PLEASE someone with a PS4 answer, no speculation please, just none. I've had such difficulty getting a clear answer to this question across the internet :/
 
So all in all so far, a smooth launch? Haven't seen a single complaint yet about not being able to connect to PSN or download the update in a timely manner.
 
I am assuming this thing will not read any media of any kind (video) on a thumb drive, but would still love somebody to check on it 🙂

I sold a game on amazon recently and the deadbeat's card failed. Amazon still held the sale for 7 days. I bet they do the same here, at least a couple of days; if your CC fails on a pre-order they won't give your unit away right away but will give time to try again.

Gonna swing by target on the way to work but don't really expect to see one. If I get one I'll sell on craigslist immediately for $100 more, which is about $70+ less than everyone is asking 🙂

Then you must not have read many of the new posts. PSN was down when people were getting their midnight launch units. For all I know it's still down because nobody here said it started working again from what I've read.
 
Fsck walmart. Every store in my area shows "In Stock." There's one a couple miles down the road so I went down there and was told "nope none left." I said that their online system showed that had stock. "Dunno sorry."

Typical WalMart zombie.

I got back home and called each of the stores in my area. No one had any in stock despite their system saying they were stocked.

I'm not pissed that I don't have a PS4. I cancelled my Amazon preorder last week. But a release day change of heart moved me to give it a whirl. It's 2013. Why can't stores like WalMart get their inventory systems worked out?

The psn+ code will only work if you have never subscribed to psn+ before. It is only for new subscribers and it will not stack onto an existing subscription.
 
i had an email this morning from amazon about $30 off a kindle fire. its a 1 day coupon. i wasn't aware there was some kind of promotion towards the kindle with the ps4.

I posted this back earlier. There is no way to access external USB drives from the ui. I looked and looked and it never pops up and there is no icon for video files or audio files like the ps3 xmb has.

I got the same email. There wasn't a promotion that I was aware of, I think it's just a one-off thing for Amazon to reach out to those who like tech and have money to spend, as evidenced by them buying a PS4 on day one.

I updated mine and download three PSN+ games with zero problems. I went to sleep at 3:30 CST and woke up with everything done.

It is setup and ready to be used after I get a nap in.
 
so 3 people just in the cheapassgamer thread about taco bell wins have received broken systems. there is another person in the launch thread there who also has a doa item. i have a feeling we're going to hear about more of these as the day goes on.
