Then why do I have a faster wireless connection on the ps3 and not the same on ps4. I'm going to look at other routers but the one I have is a couple of months old.
For people using WPA or WPA2. Try setting it to WEP or just doing a MAC check. I have noticed horrible transfer speeds on some devices with encrypted networks. It's usually a handshake issue between a wireless device and the router. Switching out the router to a different manufacturer can help, but I usually blame it on the portable device (like laptops using the Atheros chips).

I'm going to try that, possibly load custom firmware on my e1200 and see if that helps at all. Apparently I have one of the most reliable routers according to reviews.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant as a test and not a permanent solution. WPA2 or better with Certificate authorization if you can. But it can be a helpful troubleshooting step to see if it is faster when not dealing with encrypted packets.

Well I put my router in wireless n mode only and I get a whopping 700kb download and 1.2mb up. Guess I will be switching it back to mixed mode.

select Bitstream Direct

that shoudl work fine for all BR movies

for games i just leave mine set to LCPM in the XMB options and thats what i get

I just finished knack on easy but didn't even get close to finding all of the parts for the gadgets...are all of the 'hidden' doors/chambers pretty obvious as you walk by them? I do remember on some of them you had to go the opposite direction of where you supposed to go to find some rooms...For the most part, I got tired at swinging at walls and rocks for nothing...I went back and re-did the 2nd and 3rd chapters and didn't see any secret rooms that I might have missed...

They all seemed pretty obvious to me. The first gadget that I unlocked was the "secret room" detector, or whatever it's called. It was obviously pretty easy after that. I unlocked all of the gadgets. The only thing left for me are the jewels with the exception of rubys.

Something neat I just discovered.

I was going through the PSN store and noticed a few games had free demos. So I start downloading them and since I've been playing BF4 for about 5 hours now I decide to call it a night. I put the PS4 in standby mode, and according to my router (dd-wrt) it's still downloading the demos while in standby. It actually does a better job saturating my network speeds (20+ down) while in standby than when being used.

A lot are obvious but it has its fair share of ones that aren't as well. I'm doing my second play through on NG+ right now to find the rest of the goodies. I liked the game quite a bit and hope we see a more fleshed out sequel in the future.

There is a setting under "Power Management" called something like "Allow Internet Connection" to allow downloads in Standby mode...

Similar issue with mine. It's almost like someone forgot to connect the antenna. :hmm:

Not a big deal for me either, going wired.

Wired is always better.

That said, a bird told me that next re-spin of PS4 is getting AC. Take it for what you will, but I have absolutely every reason to believe this source.

I also think it proves well enough the simple logic of waiting on these things through the first releases. I can understand the allure and all, but I'm happier skipping them for now.

So I tried to test out their new app while at work. I wanted to buy a game and have it download while I was at work. Soooo I picked NFS started clicking away... Mind you at no point it asked me what version (PS3 or PS4) I wanted... After purchasing it said to click and start downloading my PS3 game. WTF!!!!!!! So no I need to wait for Sony to straighten this out :(

I love how this console supports HDMI -CEC. Now when I want to watch Amazon I can use my TV remote instead of the controller.

Yea I wish wired was an option for me. The layout of my apartment won't allow me to run a wire to it. I installed dd-wrt and that gave me even slower speeds.

I seem to be doing ok with being on channel 1 or 11. I may go to best buy and check out other routers. It's pretty ridiculous how it can't get good speeds being 9ft away on the same floor with nothing really in between to block it.

Now I wish I had waited to get one. I would like the new network cards too.

What's HDMI -CEC?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#CEC

Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is an HDMI feature designed to allow the user to command and control up-to 15 CEC-enabled devices, that are connected through HDMI,[72][73] by using only one of their remote controls (for example by controlling a television set, set-top box, and DVD player using only the remote control of the TV).

Basically when I turn on the PS4 it turns on my TV and switches to the input my PS4 is plugged into. Once past the user choice I can move around and open Amazon with my TV remote and play, pause and exit with the TV remote also. No need for any Bluetooth adapters like the PS3 had.

That's pretty cool, work with any universal remote? Though I already have a PS3 remote but holding off on the PS4 until after Xmas at least.

Well what I did was input my TV buttons that worked with the CEC and PS4 so now I can control my A/V receiver and PS4 with my Harmony One. TV and Harmony are IR remotes so it should work if the TV has CEC support.
