"Steve never would have allowed this."

Haha, i lold at this. I really wish they'd just make the flippin thing a little bigger than it is. They probably wont because it'd increase power consumption, thus reducing battery life, etc etc.

I dont really see how theyre gonna continue being able to update anything (majorly) besides CPU/GPU etc. Seems like this is pretty much what we're gonna be seeing if we want to use iPhones for the foreseeable future.

Same capacity and price as 4S

You can start to pre-order this Friday, Sept 14

Shipping Sept 21.

As expected

ioS6 available for previous gen iphone on sept 19

The longer phone does seem odd, but I can understand how they don't want to make it wider. I have large hands, so I wouldn't mind holding a wider phone, but not everyone has mammoth hands like me. :$

Gotta make an appointment with Verizon for whenever it goes on pre-order (probably Friday).

"we've also built in free turn-by-turn directions"

Gee.. thanks. Its about freakin time.

Blame Google's licensing restriction. 😛

8MP camera too... I guess I will upgrade my 4S to this.

Already traded my 4S into Amazon for between $425 and $500! Better than dealing with scammers.

I don't. The size is just fine. Unlike some phone manufacturers, Apple seems to understand that I don't want a boat anchor in my pocket.

Is that a Galaxy Note in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?😛

Pretty much just as good. Do they do phone contracts there?

Also, anyone know when pre-orders usually are? Its usually late at night IIRC right?

16:9 resolution excellent as this is aspect ratio for TV show on netflix, but an unusual resolution no?

4" screen was hoping bigger but still a great improvement

5ghz good news as 2.4ghz is massively over subscribed in my area

smaller speaker that sounds better? really, we shall see (i mean hear)

8mp camera was hoping for better, some interesting new features though

new connector bad news for some docks as using adapter will make look bad, and why not change to microUSB if your going to change.

battery life good news

cpu/gpu very little detail given, but given the phones contract lengths you want it to have power for software that will be around in 2 years time

new chassis dimension hard to judge this until you get it in your hand

I think not a revolutionary update but many good improvements all round.
From my own point of view I was hoping for a larger screen and would rather they kept the phone 20% fatter and added greater battery with the size. Prices are good.

When did they say they reduced the size of the speaker? Smaller speaker doesnt usually equal better sound, youre right on that. 😱

Seems a bit low, theyre quoting like $250 for a perfect condition iphone 4. I doubt theyll consider anything perfect, though.

Amazon has the best trade in price for the 4. The white is higher than the black, but perfect condition for the 4 32GB black was $290 yesterday. It has since dropped to $275. It was $246, and now $232 for Good Condition. My phone is in near perfect condition, unfortunately not perfect(plus I am missing half the original box), so it is in the good category. Everywhere else was quoting me $185-220.
