Democrats tried to put a bill on the Senate floor to protect IVF. Of course Republicans blocked it
Are they purposely tanking this election? Seems like they're purposely seeking out rakes to step on at this point.

With all the stunningly dumb shit Vance says and Trump tweeting "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT" it has definitely made me wonder. Making Vegas bets and then throwing the election with plans to vacate to a non-extradition country? Are they purposely tanking this election? Seems like they're purposely seeking out rakes to step on at this point.
It's always double down with those POS's.Are they purposely tanking this election? Seems like they're purposely seeking out rakes to step on at this point.
I know I saw myself. You can see the emotion in Lawrence O'Donnell. This was personal for him. He is imagining a young woman, Amber Thurman, now a dead mother to a 6 year old boy, and seeing his own mother's face.
O'Donnell is 100% correct, Amber Thurman's blood is on the hands of Bush, Trump, and all those republicans who worked to overturn Roe v. Wade. And this isn't the only death. There were others, and there will be more.
Sounds like those good old days that Reichwingers yearn for. Is it too soon to be thankful that wire coat hangers aren't overly common anymore? Iykyk and if you don't know be thankful you were spared the horror.![]()
Afraid to Seek Care Amid Georgia’s Abortion Ban, She Stayed at Home and Died
Candi Miller’s family said she didn't visit a doctor “due to the current legislation on pregnancies and abortions.” Maternal health experts deemed her death preventable and blamed Georgia’s abortion ban.www.propublica.org
Another case of a preventable death from Georgia where a person did not seek out care because of their restrictive abortion laws.
Report issued by the state of GA co read it’s that. However that has never stopped them from lying. I saw a comment they blame the woman.Republican Propagandists blaming... get this... illegal immigrants crowding hospitals for the deaths of women.
Not the fact that Republicans made LIFE SAVING medical procedures ILLEGAL.
Of course they'll argue that those procedures are legal (technically, and in certain circumstances)... while they ignore the massive risk of criminal liability they placed on Doctors, who have to wait and let people suffer and die while going through the extra bureaucracy Republicans created.

This is so going to backfire on them
The fact that maternal mortality rose is damning in and of itself. 5x the average is even more ridiculous
Given the population of Texas is about 9% of the US total, one can infer that a bit under half of the national increase in maternal mortality was solely due to TexAss 56% explosion in murdering pregnant women via healthcare bans. The fact that maternal mortality rose is damning in and of itself. 5x the average is even more ridiculous
Should be even higher now after overturning Roe.
Texas effectively banned and criminalized abortion care a full year before Roe was overturned, so Texas saw full effect in this study period, but yes expect further increases post Roe due to the rest of MAGAlandia joining in on the “party”Should be even higher now after overturning Roe.
I’d also expect rural rates to skyrocket

This will last about 24-48 hours, until the MAGA state supreme court wakes up and issues a pre-emptive injunction (they may not even bother waiting for an actual formal appeal to land on their docket... as rules and laws are for suckers and losers, not MAGA)HFS! In a footnote, McBurney added: “There is an uncomfortable and usually unspoken subtext of involuntary servitude swirling about this debate, symbolically illustrated by the composition of the legal teams in this case. It is generally men who promote and defend laws like the Life Act, the effect of which is to require only women – and, given the socio-economic and demographic evidence presented at trial, primarily poor women, which means in Georgia primarily black and brown women – to engage in compulsory labor, ie, the carrying of a pregnancy to term at the government’s behest.”

Some states are a foreign countryI'm glad someone is trying to look out for the general citizens, and especially the women, that reside in the United States.
On the flip side, it's damn horrifying that we have to treat some states as if they were a foreign country, where women have no rights.
