Texas. No emergency abortions even when the life of the mother is at risk
You know how pessimistic I am on various philosophical and political subjects.
Yet I still find ways to underestimate the horror show that America is becoming.

They speak of not letting women die.
Yet... AT. EVERY. SINGLE. STEP... they ensure that banning life saving medical care is their highest priority.

The gall of incessantly lying to us on the subject. Seething falls short to describe my current feelings after reading this outcome.
Let this subject underscore the point. Humans are inherently evil.

Grandpa's cognitive decline

Question : -- Women are entitled to do what we need to do with our bodies. It’s necessary to save our own lives. Why is the government involved in women's basic rights?

Trump: - Yeah, I think it’s great. For 52 years, they wanted to end Roe v. Wade. We were able to do it.

Fox host: - The family of Amber Thurman, who died after not receiving urgent care needed for an infection under Georgia’s abortion ban, is speaking ahead of this town hall

Trump: - We’ll get better ratings, I promise.

A woman died because of your shitty decisions. And you're worried about TV ratings? WHAT IN THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?!?

This is the stable fucking genius that only racist traitors support. Because they think he speaks complete sentences, and they support his racist policies.

I said it before, and I'll say it again, anyone who voted for Trump a 2nd time, and will support him a 3rd time is racist traitor. You don't support the UNITED States, you support the RACIST States. You're a traitor to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Shouldn't be surprising. He's an absolute sociopath and it's not really a secret.

Ask the Kurds. And reminder, this demented orange fuck wanted covid testing to stop in order to protect his approval numbers, when thousands of Americans were dying from it daily.

He doesn't give half a loaded adult diaper for the lives of American women, yeah.

For those that continue to believe that the bans aren't a big deal, you can hear from people with first-hand experiences and how these Republican policies unleashed by the Dobbs decision and the awful legislators these states elected are just putting people in unnecessary danger and emotional distress.

I hope someone gets to ask Harris Faulkner what was so fucking funny about ratings over a woman who died because of abortion bans in GA.

I had to swing by my main office on Friday, on my way out I noticed a circle of ladies talking in gaspy, shocked tones in the hallway near the break area and bathrooms.

My first thought was a 'Oh no, shit' because someone else there at that office has been fighting stage 3 cancer, maybe she took a bad turn, or passed away? I went over to find out if everything was ok and as I approach I can hear they are talking about that Amber Thurman moment.

These are all rural white women in the 25-65 range, most of them church goers I believe. One of the younger ones actually said "I hope he loses then gets shot."

:openmouth:

(in her defense, she's pregnant)

I know this couple's pain; it destroyed the relationship that my partner and I had about a month after the birth and death of our daughter.

Extremely sorry to hear that. I really am.

Similar has happened to a very close relative of mine. Her, and her husband, have a defective gene. If at least one parent passes on a good gene, the child is fine. However, there is a 25% chance of both parents passing on bad genes. Sadly, her only daughter, the first born, had both defective genes passed on and only made it hours after birth. This was absolutely devastating.

The problem in her case is that this was not something routine checks would have caught. She told me the hardest thing was to watch the baby die in your arms. She thinks it would have been less painful had they realized it early on and had an abortion. Not that there's no emotional attachment but that there would have been less emotional attachment. Not to mention less wear and tear on her body.

Fortunately, she did eventually have two healthy boys. And unlike in your case, she is still with her husband.

But this is the type of evil abortion bans are perpetuating. And in some cases, this is fatal to the mother.

My ex went on to have 3 healthy children, so I suspect my genes suck.

Sometimes its just bad luck of the draw.

But that's why we have medical science. To do as much as possible to make sure people live healthy pain free lives. Conservatives are aiming to wipe that off the books, with their fake pro-life stance. And yes, it is 100% fake, because after the baby is born, conservatives do every damn thing possible to make sure that baby has a miserable life.

Sometimes abortions are not about whether the baby would be born healthy, but about whether the mother and father are able to take care of it, and provide a warm nurturing environment. Don't forget that there are horror stories of parents who had a baby, and are not able to properly take care of the baby, and this essentially ruined them for life. Someone whose future is ruined and is now perpetually in poverty isn't much better off than someone who died. Not that conservatives care.

Woman in Texas died because she could not get medical treatment after her miscarriage. Democrats had better start saying her name along with Candi Miller and Amber Nicole Thurman who died in Georgia all because of Trump and SCOTUS. Dems had better repeat their names everyday until election day.

ED meds should be on the chopping block if they want to continue.

Edit: Wanted to add that all males should be required to undergo a little snip until they are prepared to have kids.

You know I have stood firmly as "pro-life".
Trying to be realistic, I also long supported a compromise. Plus, always an exception for medical reason. Spare you repeating the details of it. Because it no longer matters.

If abortion bans are going to directly result in Republicans banning life saving procedures. To generally BAN ALL life saving procedures for pregnant women.....
I struggle to type through the emotions I am feeling as I watch the dead pile up. The gall they have to lie about their laws....

I will never again oppose abortion. Not of any sort. No matter what. I don't care. If this is the result, I do not want it.

I am still pro-life. I am for the life of the woman. Republicans clearly have other intentions.

Before everything happened with my daughter, I was personally against abortion but saw it strictly as a personal choice. Once I was forced to go through it, I became radically pro-abortion including within the final trimester.

I commend you for your ability to come around on yet another subject.

Maybe next you'll ease up on your hatred for trans people :)

The standard woman getting a 3rd trimester abortion “story” is “OMG they are killing the babies!”

The reality is 3rd trimester abortions are basically no different than parents determining end of life care for fatally ill children.

What’s the difference between parents deciding to put their 5 year old suffering from fatal glioblastoma on hospice as the most humane treatment for their child and a mother deciding that a 3rd trimester abortion is the most humane thing to do for their child with fatal anencephaly.

Anyone who thinks the governor gets to determine that outcome based on what gets him the most votes and not what’s best for the child/family doesn’t deserve to be a parent.

Pete Buttigieg's response to this was (as usual) so well done.
