Drinking a Sour Patch Kids Watermelon Twisted Soda from JiTB.

Sprite + SPK Watermelon syrup + pre shake shake mix + whipped cream.

It's different and not bad, you can taste everything, I can only imagine the syrup's concentrated sugar lol. I got the large which is like 550 calories. I won't get it again, but for a 1 and done I'm enjoying it. They also have a Watermelon Lemonade and a vanilla watermelon shake.

Finally tried the Shake Shack chicken sandwich you all love. I got the bacon avocado version. It was pretty good - the chicken was very well cooked, super crispy, but the whole product was kind of bland. Also, I don't know if this is just my local store, but it was very spartan inside - a total cacophony of people talking and 30 echoes for each conversation. The weird super-short kiosk section with a lady at another kiosk taking orders was also strange.

They don't do combo meals either.

It was a very weird restaurant, but I'd give it another shot.

Either 7-11 changed who they get their pizzas from, or who they get their pizzas from changed the recipe. Or my taste buds are going to shit, but the last time I got 2 slices, they tasted noticeably better. I wouldn't say close to great. But for 2/$4 from a convenience store, it far better than it had any business being. I got 2 slices, got home to open and 1 was pepperoni and 1 was cheese. They're in solid boxes and I've never gotten anything except Pepperoni. The cheese was superior, and it had dried Italian herbs sprinkled on it and they added a good amount of flavor. I never get cheese because Pepperoni's fucking Pepperoni. But their Roni pizza doesn't have the Italian herb sprinkle. So I think from now on I'll be getting the cheese.

I'm perplexed that a frozen pizza cooked in a giant toaster oven can be this passable.

And they recently added self check out, self check out at a convenience store is god damn wild.

Regular, it was like 50% the thickness of a regular Whopper patty. The bun size was ridiculous compared to the burger. Shrinkflation is everywhere!

I don't know how people choose to eat Big Macs. They're easily the worst primary burger from the big chains.

I signed up to do some surveys for shake shack late last year. Just got 30 bucks from them for doing the last one. Basically they randomly emailed me and I said yes. I probaby order from the app a whole 3 times a year. But they are my favorite fast casual burgere.

They are throwing out a lot of feelers for different products. The one before this was about a ton of different hot dogs, and this one had new burger styles.

I think even people who do like it, it's more so for the convenience. There are like 6 within 6 miles of my house. I've never met someone who'll drive 30 minutes for McD's. I have known a couple people who would take 3 freeways to get to Shake Shack though.

I eat at an In N Out that has a MCD's right across the street. There are always 20+ cars in the In N Out drive thru, and there might be 1-2 at the MCD's. And sometimes 5 minutes passes with no cars. While some people do legit like MCD's my guess is half of the cars I see there when I'm at In N Out are parents who have kids who are crying for a Happy Meal. But I have spoken to a ex neighbor who thought Big Macs were the best fast food burger, so some people have a weird subpar burger fetish or something.

I legit like McDonalds for what it is. It's the top of the old school, mass market fast food joints. We don't have the boutique places out this way like you have in CA, and stuff like 5 Guys is an entirely different class. I don't eat much fast food anymore though. Too expensive for what it is, and for McDonalds specifically, their electronic purchase setup really gets on my fucking nerves. If I go anywhere, it's likely to be TacoBell. It's become a tradition to get some tacos after doing treework, if there's one even kind of on the way home.

1. Correct, they took a modern example to compare the sizes (no time travel was involved, unfortunately)

2. I suspect people's memories warp their historical perception of the sizes differences. The packaging changes can probably hold the same sizes:

I used to work at McDonald's back when I joined the forum. A fun fact is that at the time, a slice of the cheese would actually sanitize a table it sat on for 72 hours.

Saw a few viral Orange Chicken Fries videos from TakTak floating around. Googled the the spot (Mr. You's Chinese) and was shocked I haved one 3 miles away. Mr. You's is a small chain that has a bunch of locations across So Cal. It's crinkle cut fries tossed in a soy, garlic & chili sauce and topped with spicy orange chicken, some sort of spicy mayo, and some Scallions to make it healthy. And this is 'Mercia, so of course it has shredded cheese.

The only negative is how huge the container is, with all the sauce on it the fries won't hold up at all. So if you don't finish, when you reheat the fries and chicken will both lose all their crunchiness. If I had to guess there's about a 1lb of fries, a 1lb of spicy Orange Chicken and about a cup of the sauce and maybe the same of the mayo drizzle. I honestly don't think I even taste the cheese, there's too much going on here so it's not really needed. Also I don't think that cheese makes for a good topping for sweet orange chicken. And I have no idea where to begin to try and even calculate the calories. This is 10/10 on the unhealthy scale.

This is way too much food for 1 person, hell it's too much for 2 people. 1st bite was delicious the chicken was a little spicy and the sauce was really good. There's little to nothing "Chinese" about this dish other than it came from a Chinese spot. But God bless 'Merica for putting fried chicken doused in sugary orange sauce on top of french fries and drowning it in an absurd amount of salty sauce. The only way I could see to improve these would be to if they added some sweet and sour pork to the top.

As you can see by the picture, it looks pretty unappetizing, but they knew what they were doing here so I see why this is going viral.

Damn Popeye's coming hard right now. They have three pieces of chicken for $5 plus the app has a deal where you get 6 free wings with a $5+ purchase. So grabbed a breast and two thighs spicy plus the free wings in the signature spicy sauce and a large red beans and rice to throw in the fridge for tomorrow (that stuff always tastes better the next day) for a little more than $10 plus tax. I know Popeyes can be wildly inconsistent but the one in my area is outstanding every damn time; made me completely give up Chick Fil A, Bush's Chicken, and Bill Miller BBQ which I used to buy a ton of fried chicken from.
