Can you use steam workshop mods and skyrimnexus mods via the mod manager at the same time?

I have been.

I don't think it's a problem, as long as the mods aren't conflicting in nature--but that would cause problems with any single manager. --like 2 texture packs that change the same textures.

Skyrim is now saving to the steam cloud so it syncs between computers. Just noticed when I logged into the desktop today.

My Skyrim has been stuttering like mad over the past couple days, and I figured it was because I had too many graphics mods installed and was running out of VRAM. Took off a few of the ultra quality ones and replaced them with slightly lower res versions (same mods though), and things started running a lot better, with a very small dip in visual quality. But I'm getting a huge number of crashes or full system resets now. I may need to do a complete reinstall. What a pisser. I just started a new character and I've backed up all my saves so it's not that big a deal, just takes time... In the mean time, I can start planning my next round of upgrades.

Okay, I been messing around with the Skyrim Skill Builder. I wanted to try and come up with a Level 80 Paladin Build along the lines of what I think is a classical type Paladin. This is not the best or perfect build but just my humble attempt of mapping out one I feel would work well up to Level 80. I did want to share and get some feedback from folks here and see what they think of it.

http://www.ign.com/builds/the-elder...011111151111111511111111000000000501111100041

Hopefully that comes through properly. If not I'll resort to the old fashion way of writing it all up. Anyway on with it.

For race I'm thinking Imperial. I feel it probably best captures the racial representation of what a Paladin in Skyrim is if they had any. One could easily argue a Nord or Breton but I feel Imperial makes more sense. Yes, he would be pro Imperial and anti rebellion but it makes some sense. He would also not likely to join any thief factions like the Thieves Guild, DB, and possibly the Companions although he might but certainly be adverse to werewolves or vampires.

I picture him (or her) as a mace wielding warrior with a shield. Mace and hammer is a little closer to what I think of a Paladin although a two-handed wielder is not out of the question. In my build I went one handed mace because in my mind they are more apt to carry a shield into battle.

Since my version is a shield carrier and wielder I chose to fill out the Blocking tree with nothing left out. I used all the perks in it. This gives him some nasty bash offense and some good blocking abilities. Also with the armor tree I used up all the perks in the heavy armor tree as well. Giving him good protection in heavy armor. A person could use Light armor but I think of a Paladin much like a knight when it comes to armor so heavy made more sense to me.

For magical abilities I think of a paladin as a healer and for buffs so I chose to stick with just Restoration and Alteration in this build. In Restoration I chose all the perks except for Ward Absorb and Restoration Dual Casting. I felt they didn't fit and they would just use up points better spent elsewhere. In Alteration I chose all the perks except for Mage Armor and Alteration Dual Casting basically for the same reasons.

Now for the noncombat skills. I chose to use all the perks in the Smithing tree except Glass Armor. It makes sense to be able to make everything up to dragon armor. I have never used glass armor so I felt I didn't need it. I'm no enchanter expert so for Enchanting I chose to use those that provide Health, Stamina, and Magica. Leaving out Frost, Storm, and Fire.

That left me five unspent points so I placed them in Archery. Now Archery is not something Paladins are known for. In fact it is an invention on my part since I like using bows to some extent in this game so I cheated a bit here and put the last five points into Archery.

Like I said earlier this is not a best, perfect, or ideal build but one that covers what I think is as close to a classical ideal of a paladin as I can think of in Skyrim. I'm still learning this game so I going with what I know so far. I did want to see what others thought though and see if they have something similar or maybe point out something I'm not quite seeing.

Thanks in advance. :)

So, how many people used Madanach to get out of prison in Marthark, and now have to listen that that vendor woman say "You! You're not with the forsworn, are you?" every time they walk by the market? I even went to the hideout and killed Madanach and all his henchmen, and she still thinks I'm maybe a bad guy. Except just recently she has started to say "Now there's a man I like to see" every so often :).

I helped him out, but then decided I was going to join the imperials because he's the biggest racist prick in the game

Almost done with the DB quests. Now I just have to go kill the big guy. I can see why people enjoy these DB quests. They are fun and it has a great story line behind it as well.

Almost 3 months in with a game time of 2-3 hrs everyday plus saturaday sunday 4-5hrs and i'm still nowhere near completing this game. Finished the main quest line as early as december, then wandered about trying to finish my miscellaneous quests only to realise that they further branch out into side quests which have further filled up my Journal. Maxed out smithing cos i wanted to use all those dragon scales and bones and ended up with a zillion iron daggers. Got the dragonscale armor only to find out that daedric looks much better. So off to get daedra hearts with the Mehrunes dagon quests. Have only recenlty joined the DB, Thieves Guild and apparently theres a Bard's college too. My God. I think 30% of my gaming life solely belongs to The ELder Scrolls series.

Would like to mention though, that the final boss fight with ALDUIN was so bad and easy that it made me feel like an idiot. "Dragonrend" just made Alduin feel like a dumb bird. Even the fight alongside Paarthurnax was much better. Nothing, and i mean nothing, compared to the endings of Morrowind and maybe Oblivion as well.

What's even better is that after all of this crap, you still find guards in the cities telling you "Hands to yourself, sneak thief!", "No lollygagging" and all the other clever remarks.

This time around I don't care about paragon stuff, I'll marry Alva, hopefully I can bend Morthal to my will.

Hahaha yeah. I remember when i first heard that after i killed Alduin. I was like "shut up, B**ch. I just saved yours and all of Tamriel's Ass."

I was also not allowed to enter the East Empire company Warehouse by that pesky guard outside. I thought if I would be the saviour of the world, the entire world would bow at my feet. So much for all that.

For a change of pace, I'm currently refraining from using my dremora lords indoors. I cast wall of flames from one hand + wall of shock from the other. When I cast both at the same time, I can create an awesome (and awe-inspiring) 40-foot long kill zone that sucks 100HP per second out of the baddies. Just killed a pair of draugr death overlords that way. One almost reached me but croaked mere feet away. I was ready to fus ro dah his ass back if he got within hacking distance. I sometimes make myself ethereal instead and wait for the boss baddy to die in my shocking inferno hacking futilely at my ghostly presence.

I have also been able to sneak and cast that kill zone at quite a distance on other draugrs. They die looking for me.

What's life without whimsy? :p

Has anyone tried whacking Ulfric right outside Riverwood? I always just assumed he was invincible but never tried.

I finished the DB quest last night. Was kind of underwhelmed with the final boss.
Tsun, the gatekeeper to Soverngard,
was a harder fight.

Yet 60hr in, I'm still not done. Onto the civil war quest next. I'm not sure who to support. Both sides are dickbags. I wish there was an option to make myself high king, and screw everyone else, like in Fallout New Vegas.

Didn't try there, but you can walk up to his throne in Windhelm and pwn him.

I did this a few times--but yes: he can't die. Once I had the Ebony blade fully charged and was generally considered a major badass throughout Skyrim and not to be trifled with (though one that constantly loses their sweet roll, mind you), I waltzed into his throne room and started wailing on his skull. No one could kill me--I must have murdered the entire guard compliment of Windhelm, but he and his general dude (and I believe the steward), would not die.

My shouts sent him twice as far as his sent me--actually, I could block his pissant shouts--but he never died. I did this for maybe 30 minutes, lol.

Most of my conjuration has been gained through soul reaping, so it is leveling quite slowly. I've yet to see the spell for dremora lords, so I wonder how they are classified via the perk tree--are they considered atronochs or zombies? Or is there such a spell and are they summoned only through the Sanguine Rose? Likewise, do perks and spell level dictate staff effects?

That vendor is also one of the cannibals, right? You can head to their lair and kill all of them. A handful of them, including the one that asked you to join, are people that you may have previously helped in Markarth. Murdering all of those dirty cannibals provides an excellent opportunity for charging the Ebony Blade.

Do what I did: join the Imperials and murder all the Thalmor that you see. Win win.

i wish there was a way to goad people into fighting you. i don't want to just simply walk up to them and put an arrow in their eye. i want it to look like i was "defending" myself.

WTF, Lydia just got killed last night. I didn't think she could die. will that ruin the quest she was supposedly helping me with?

No, she is expendable. If you want to keep her just reload a save before the battle and try again. Also, if you give her the big giant bone club that girl is like superwoman.
