Very impressed so far. Everything besides interface is great. This is probably the only game I've played this year that hasn't failed to meet up to its hype.

Great.
So the ONE thing you use to do anything in the game is subpar. lol

I'm also getting a weird graphical glitch where I have like 1 row of pixels in a blueish haze outlining my weapons (which is really annoying on a bow), anyone else getting that on AMD cards?

I'm on a core i5, 5770 btw.

I have the same glitch with the blue outline on the weapons.

I'm on a core i7 and a 6950.

Installing now. I just realized that I may get some shity frame rates till AMD releases a new batch of crossfire profiles cause my 5970 is essentially crossfire on a single card. We shall see. Also grabbing the latest version of FRAPS to test things out.

Great.
So the ONE thing you use to do anything in the game is subpar. lol

From the reviews I've read the problem is that their sole target for the UI was consoles and they made very few adjustments for the PC. For example they don't even have proper hotkeys. We shall see if future patches add any of this. If not I'm sure we will see a user mod.

I really find it interesting that people are giving this a "pass" as a good game when the UI is completely whack. Considering it is HOW you play and interact with the game, how is this excusable here and not in other games? In any other game it would immediately be presented with a bunch of "this game is junk and broke and consolized" comments.

I also find it interesting that the reported graphics are nowhere near what was shown prior to release. This seems to hold true to BF3 as well. So just where are they getting those screenshots and are they doctored? If so, I would claim that as false advertising and grounds for some sort of action.

I doubt I'll be buying this until this has been addressed. If they don't address it, well, there are tons of other games out there. Wouldn't be the first time I've skipped big titles. I'm sure the game is "good", but really?

If this helps anybody, you can bind anything from the Q menu to numbers keys as well. Enjoying this game, hope everyone else is!

Game is so much fun.

Good:
- executions are cool
- weapon enhancements and upgrades = awesome!
- same for armor
- perks really make a difference and are really nice!
- load times from SSD = not really there :D

Bad:
- crashed to desktop 5 times in the last 7 hours - no error or anything
- sometimes textures don't get loaded - stuff is blue then. happened once to the skill constellations, saw some trees like that, armors on people...
- horrible shadows, blocky and distracting

Now the shadows I can live with, but the crashes are really annoying. And they happen anywhere, out of the blue. I may be climbing a hill, want to turn around and bam, back at my desktop. I enter a building - crash. Change weapons - crash. Running the newest Catalysts 11.10 - any idea how to improve that?

Is there any way to boost sound. For some reason this game is rather 'soft' on max volume. Also so far (only about 45 minutes into the game) the interface is weird.

I've seen complaints about the shadows from a few people. What graphics settings are you running?

And so far, with about 8 hours playtime, the worst bugs I've seen are a few minor AI pathing issues. No crashes, no texture problems.

Ultra (with all sliders to the right), no AA, FXAA on (AAx4 makes no difference with the shadows).

What do you mean by the 'Q' menu ? Also containers are really funky. You hit E to open then but then they just don't want to close. Your locked into interacting with containers and then I have to finally hit TAB to escape them. Wonky. Also you have to scroll through items to decide what to do with them?

Ok I figured out the 'q' thing but it seems broken. I have a sword i assign to 2 and a bow I assign to 1. I push 1 and bow equips; i push 2 and sword equips but then for some reason it unassigns 1 so when i push 1 again nothign happens. Broken ?

Anyways anyone have any way to boost volume ?

I don't understand the complaints about the interface, it seems fine to me. It's basically the same as FO3.

Anyone using the 360 controller for this game? I hear people whining about how the UI is designed for a console, so I figure I may find better enjoyment playing with the 360 controller. Normally I'd prefer to play with keyboard and mouse, but for a game like Skyrim that don't require much twitch action, I think a controller will be just as fun to play with.

I'm using a 360 controller. I also used it with Fallout 3 and NV. You don't need to precise so it works out just fine.

It's easy to tell when someone is playing a 1st person game with a controller instead of mouse. The panning is stiff, robotic and imprecise vs. the mouse which makes looking around feel natural and realistic.

I hate achievements in my video games. You arent actually achieving a damn thing but you get those annoying pop-ups.
If they got you some benefit, like in New Vegas, then they'd be OK.
Do you get bonuses from them in Skyrim?

The interface was annoying for the first hour or so, then I got used to it and can navigate just fine...I mean I get that it's not ideal, but after awhile it is no longer a distraction (for me at least). I actually wouldn't have given it a second thought if I didnt see all the hate on here and other forums...just doesnt seem like that big of a deal. Loving the game so far.
