I have 2 problems with 2 different quest with the same type of problem.

1) The Numbers Job - Changing the books at Haelga's Bunkhouse. The problem with this quest is the book I need to change is in a bedroom and when I look at it says to hit E key to change the numbers. Well that does not work. The arrow marker is in-between the floors. I do not get the notification to hit the E key.

2) Miscellaneous Quest - Ask Aldis for information about Angeline's daughter. I go to Solitude and the castle and track do the person. He is stuck in a wall.

Any help?

1)You will have to use a console command to auto complete the mission. That's the thief radiant quest, right? One of those random missions?

It saves just fine. I've used it a few times here and there when I've changed my mind about a particular perk.

Just be aware that removing a perk does not return a perk point, and adding perks does not consume perk points.

Ah, I see. so as long as you remove and replace at 1:1, you're still net 0 additional perks so...not really cheating.

I finished Forbidden Legend tonight. We were hard-pressed during the final battle, and unfortunately Lydia did not survive.

I could have reloaded... but I decided to role play it. It was a long fight. I laid her to rest on the platform where the pieces of the amulet were reforged, and laid her warhammer on the stones beside her.

I'm going to miss her sense of wonder ("I've never seen anything quite like that before!"), her short-term memory loss ("A healing spell! Are you a priest?"), her AIdar ("I have a bad feeling about this!"), and perhaps most of all, her carrying capacity. And though I never could get her to share my bedroll, I will always think of her as a friend.

RIP.

God knows how many times I've shouted or bashed Lydia to death when she gets in my way, lol. I tend to reload.

First fight against two dragons, a pair of frosties. Much tougher to avoid getting blasted. Even though it did not hurt much, just the fact that sometimes one was blasting me from behind as I was targeting the other got the old adrenaline pumping. ^_^

That got me two souls. :awe:

I even saw one of them hit my follower Aranea with its tail. First time I see this.:awe:

Now two ancient dragons at the same time would definitely be a challenge for my level 46 mage.:colbert:

The stupid bears are more powerful than the biggest dragon. I wonder if they have some ignore armor bug.

Btw, a darn cave bear still managed to ignore my 2 storm atronach bodyguards & follower and one-pawed me earlier tonight.

this is what you guys get for being pussy casters. :p

but dragons are way, way too weak. Their mostly just an annoyance, as I have to wait or try to lure them to a place so they can land. I hate trying to pick them off slowly with a bow.

Of course, there are also a shit-ton of dragons. I can understand them being a bit weak, considering that you are randomly interrupted by them so frequently.

I think I ran into a bug today. I was in the hideout where you get the Wuuthrad quest item. Somehow I became over burdened at least thats what I think is happening. So I start dumping items thinking I'm just overburdened. I dropped everything and I'm still moving slowly. I can't figure out what happened. I even tried some potions but that doesnt work either. Anyone know if there is a known bug with this quest? It started after I picked up the quest item. I can't drop the quest item either. Not sure if this is an intended thing after picking up the quest item or if it is a bug.

You can't drop quest items as far as I know, so that's probably ok. Have you waited awhile, so you know it's not an effect (or checked the active effects menu)? I've been slowed be enemies. Maybe a trap could do the same thing. Otherwise I guess a bug would be the only other explanation.

No, wasn't a trap. My guy was fine just before I picked up the quest item. The solution was I quit to desktop and then logged back into the game. That seemed to fix whatever the problem was. The PC was running fine and no other programs running in the back ground so not sure what it was. Guessing something to do with the game itself.

Can someone explain this to me? I recently upgraded to a legendary ebony armor set to replace my old legendary orcish set. The orcish set, with all my perks, gave me an armor rating of 585. The new ebony set only gives me a rating of 515. I don't get it? The orc set only had a fortify health +29 and fortify alchemy enchants on it.

I have all the heavy armor perks unlocked.

I am the Dragonborn! I am the only one who can...

... loot a 50 DP Staff of Fireballs and swat Blood Dragons like flies.

I've been collecting various staffs I come across as loot. Just the more powerful ones I come across.

I realized I'd been lugging around like 8 of them, and I never use them. So I gave them all to Lydia my follower. Much to my surprise she dual wielded them and laid waste to all the baddies in sight!

I was like....hmm I didn't know you could dual wield staffs. Staffs? Staves? whatever.

hmm. Well one of the perks is a bonus if you're decked out in all heavy armor. If you're missing one piece or if it's light armor instead that could account for the loss of that bonus.

Also check Magic>active effects to see if there is anything in red there.

Seriously. Is it that hard to program the AI to stand by your side instead of in front of you all the time? She tends to block your exit from confined spaces too.

There numerous degrees of "legendary". Are you sure these are the same "degree" of legendary-ness?

If you have a smithing perk in the armor type, it will hit [Legendary] at 91 or 92 smithing. Every additional 17-20 points of smithing, the armor or weapon will get additional smithed bonuses, but will still be called [Legendary].

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you probably have a smithing perk in orcish, but don't in ebony and crafted with the same +smith% OR that you crafted the orcish with more +smith%.

Yes, I saw her do that once too. In fact, a couple of times I had to take the staves away from her because she was starting fights from range and just blasting everything she saw. Feisty girl. And now she's gone. /sob

after further research online I found out that the "matching set" bonus is bugged for ebony armor. too bad cause I think it looks pretty cool... daedric is a little overkill IMO

Yeah within each title are several points of effectiveness. In fact if you can make potions and equipment that boost your Smithing skill you can get a very high powered piece of Legendary equipment. I think the game engine tracks skills up to 65535 points. I know for a fact it goes above 255.

You probably accidentally hit shift. I do it all the time it just turns off run mode. Hitting shift again fixes it.

oh really? I did not know that--I much prefer Ebony to all the others and honestly, I haven't really checked my armor status. I've actually been using Helm of Yngol, so I wouldn't get the bonuses, anyway.

Also, if you haven't done the Call of Boethia quest yet--DO IT! Her Ebony Mail is absolute tits. The quest is bugged, though, so you might have issues getting it to initiate
When you take a follower up to sacrifice, and after killing the follower, she may not initiate conversation. You can avoid this by killing all of the cultists right there, or kill them before sacrificing your follower. Kill the cultists, and she will spawn. Then, sacrifice your follower and she will order you to seek her mail/kill her thrall. She demands you do that with stealth, but it is not necessary. Just equip the mail once you have it and the quest is complete.

I hadn't thought about that. Maybe that is what it was? I don't remember hitting the key but that might explain it. I never mess with the walking/running feature. I just leave run on all the time. I'll try to remember that if it happens again. Thanks.

I didn't think about that, but yeah this happens a lot. Not only that, but if I hit caps-lock to toggle the default movement speed, it toggles back when I exit certain menus, and sometimes when I zone between cells.
