We aren’t laughing. We are holding our breaths and praying you don’t fuck up again. If you do, we give up.
I hang out with an Internet group this almost entirely European and that's essentially their sentiment, with a side of "your time is over anyway, the world its better without American leadership."

Pick better candidates.

Democrats will need to take a long, hard look at themselves after this and ask if they ever want to win at the national level again or not.
Man, stay off the juice. Your Trump hasn't won, he's a one term president and a good chance will stay that, and be in jail by this time next year. Pick better candidates, man. Trump/Pence stink.

Does a narrow Biden wins give anyone any comfort?

Yes a win is a win... but it's not the repudiation of Trump that some of you want. It essentially guarantees he's a one term president and then who takes up the mantle of Trump's base in 2024?
I'm pretty sure replacing the worst and most incompetent President in modern history gives a lot of people comfort.

Depends if the Senate flips too.

It gives me a ton of comfort.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion. So far, no swing states have flipped since 2016. I suppose we can feel good about having a strong polling lead in WI+MI, so Biden just needs PA or AZ to flip the election (if my math is correct, PA would certainly do it).

So it's not about gains, margins or national vote count (conservatively, you can already guess Biden will have well over 6M more total votes). It's about the Electoral College, and so far tonight, there's nothing that really supports your assertion. Too early to call IMO.

Remember coming into tonight, Nate Silver/538 modeled that Biden had about a coin flip's chance of having the election called in his favor before the morning (in other words, he was going to blow well past 300 EC votes). Unless something drastically changes in GA or TX, it looks like we likely won't know for days and that plays into the corrupt incumbent's hands. But again, too early to say even that until more votes are counted in the Rust Belt.
Biden needs Arizona +1 I believe (Nebraska's second district the most likely candidate for that 1, although Biden trailing slightly in early results)
Or Pennsylvania
(While still holding on to heavy pre-election day polling leads in WI+MI and 2016 states)

Meanwhile, I'm sitting down to leftover ribs from my Halloween bbq. I used to be an all-wood pit purist, but the Traeger has converted me.

NC is still in play. Most votes left are in democrat areas. Biden is winning most of these areas on same day votes as well. NC is is incredibly tight.

Right, my point is that anybody who's looking at the early results for the Blue Wall and saying it's already in the bag for Joe is jumping to conclusions.

It's very difficult to beat someone who can lie with virtually no consequence to huge swaths of the population, in a system based on an antiquated way to count votes by state.

The Dems could use a better candidate but it wouldn't matter. They'd still need a better informed population and a fairer system. Unfortunately you are part of the lower info population. You are a significant part of the problem.

Hopefully nobody, he's a hard act to follow. His particular brand of mental depravity is fortunately exceedingly rare. I think of the Bob Dylan line, "anybody can be like me, obviously, but not many can be like you, fortunately."

I think putting Trump in the same crowd as Carter, even if it's only 1 vote, would be more than repudiation enough.

Can't see why either candidate would need a blowout when 271 EVs is all it takes.
Really? It would be a lot cleaner for our democracy if Biden wins by a decent cushion; I'm sure you understand this.

If it's anything close to 270 EC, Trump is gonna clusterfuck us for weeks. The Atlantic has a fascinating piece on what scenarios could play out if it's razor-thin and Trump decides to fight.

Biden still has about a 1 in 20 chance for NC, but largest set of missing votes is from Randolph county (Clinton 13k, Trump 50k in last election), it's basically over in NC for Biden barring a county reporting error in current tabulated results.

Anything closer than a 100+ point electoral college win is an embarrassment to America. It shows that misinformation, lying with impunity, fear, cultism and hate wins. Then you have dumbfuck idiots that say pick a better candidate. Well we picked your classic and competent tuna melt because there was no wagyu beef burger on the menu, but compared to a literal stinking cowturd sandwich topped with dog poop it should have been a really easy choice.

Fuck those people. They suck as bad as the rabid Trump voters.

Why? Obama managed to find a path, and against better challengers.
