- Texas and Ohio shifting red as expected, as the night goes on, both looking unlikely for Biden now (not that they were likely to start with).
- Biden has already almost certainly lost Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina all as key Trump swing states tonight, even though networks are slow to call them.

Only chance we'll know election by tomorrow morning now is if Wisconsin goes unexpectedly to Trump, along with Arizona as toss-up going to Trump - that's basically game over for Biden. But that won't be known until late tomorrow morning at the very soonest.

Continue to believe most likely outcome is we'll be stuck waiting on Pennsylvania indefinitely as the final tie-breaker. Likely won't be callable until late this week or later, unless there is a massive surprise in Biden's favor in Penn., which seems extremely unlikely given other state results. Note several heavily republican counties aren't even starting counts of mail-in ballots until tomorrow in Penn.

Anyone else see what I’m seeing?

Trump hasn’t gained over 2016 and I’m seeing Biden gains across the board over Clinton. If all else is equal, Biden should have this.
Not sure how you come to that conclusion. So far, no swing states have flipped since 2016. I suppose we can feel good about having a strong polling lead in WI+MI, so Biden just needs PA or AZ to flip the election (if my math is correct, PA would certainly do it).

So it's not about gains, margins or national vote count (conservatively, you can already guess Biden will have well over 6M more total votes). It's about the Electoral College, and so far tonight, there's nothing that really supports your assertion. Too early to call IMO.

Remember coming into tonight, Nate Silver/538 modeled that Biden had about a coin flip's chance of having the election called in his favor before the morning (in other words, he was going to blow well past 300 EC votes). Unless something drastically changes in GA or TX, it looks like we likely won't know for days and that plays into the corrupt incumbent's hands. But again, too early to say even that until more votes are counted in the Rust Belt.

If you look closely though you’ll see that the early vote almost equals the total 2016 vote in some places.
My state just reported a > 77% voter turnout. And this is in a state with automatic voter registration. We're solid blue, of course, but I think it speaks well for down ballot. I'm especially interested in ballot measures results.

Pick better candidates.

Democrats will need to take a long, hard look at themselves after this and ask if they ever want to win at the national level again or not.

Would be said no matter who the Democratic candidate is, and you know it.

That's a horseshit line.

They should have had some decent candidates. What a disgrace. Four more years of fascism, four more years of Trump egging on white nationalists to commit terrorist attacks, four years of saying fuck science. How do you lose to guy who has killed ~300,000 Americans and plunged us into a depression?

You do understand that fascists thrive and maintain power through failure, right? If something isn't wrong, and there isn't someone or something to blame for it, then what purpose does the fascist leader serve? Go back to John Locke, "if man in his natural state is free, as is said, then why does he part with his freedom?" Answer for Trump is this: "law and order."
IOW, political and economic upheavals help the fascist leader, not hurt them.

I don’t understand why people are panicking and why I watch CNN. They do a great job of evaluating trends at a county level, and have shown that Biden is outperforming Clinton in some key areas that could net him NC and PA. FL isn’t all that surprising, we already knew Trump was performing surprisingly well in Miami Dade. TX is probably closer than the GOP would like. Biden may not get the electoral blowout people were hoping for, but I don’t see how the board is all that favorable for Trump right now.

As I noted earlier, the Trump crowd is trying to force a early consensus, an early night if you will, so that vote counting stops while they're ahead.

Honestly, I was expecting more of a Biden blowout. This is looking a lot closer than expected.
Can't help but agree. Can't believe that knowing how well I do that people hate themselves, that I have maybe actually underestimated their death wish. Misery does love company though and the best way to get even is to bring the whole country down. All that fear and hate has to go someplace.

Does a narrow Biden wins give anyone any comfort?

Yes a win is a win... but it's not the repudiation of Trump that some of you want. It essentially guarantees he's a one term president and then who takes up the mantle of Trump's base in 2024?

Yeah, as an Independent who didn't get to vote in the primaries, I don't understand how the Democrats made the same mistake that they made in 2016. They didn't get enough votes for the career politician/Washington insider then, so I'm not sure why they doubled down on that strategy.
