Were talking about a complete dumbfuck vs. professionals that do investigations for a living....

Are we really surprised? When you're told to be a victim I'm sure you think it's easy. I just say some people called me a f** and a n***** and I walk around with a noose, it's as easy as pie, right? This is expected, and I called it from Post# 7

It's funny how your usual schtick is all about how you're being victimized by other people's victimization.

No wait, no. It's tedious. Just because you have a micropenis doesn't mean we all have to suffer from it.

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/430023-senate-passes-bill-to-make-lynching-a-federal-crime

The Senate on Thursday cleared legislation to make lynching a federal crime.

The bill, introduced by Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Tim Scott (R-S.C.), makes lynching punishable as a hate crime.

I must be missing something, I thought it was already a crime??

I think it means that lynching is now punishable as a hate crime in addition to whatever other crimes are committed, i.e. kidnapping, murder etc.

Have you noticed your approach being effective at changing their minds?

Where did I say I was even attempting to do that? Like I already told you, I'm just pointing out his behavior and how it shows how full of shit he is. People have provided him evidence that has disproven his claims on a lot of topics, and he never changes his mind, and I've had to deal with enough people like him to know there is no changing their minds. If you want to waste your time trying then by all means, but if you think I'm going to let you equate people that actually discuss things in good faith with people like him, then sorry you don't know the actual situation.

Like I said already, either outcome of this is bad, and I can't understand anyone gloating about it any which way. Its sick and perverse to be delighting in something like this on either side. And if you've spent much time dealing with people like Ugly, he absolutely does get sick pleasure from this and justifies it because he thinks that people pointing out racism feel the same way (even though that is not the case at all).

What you're missing is that I'm fairly certain its the old "all crimes are hate crimes" argument, where they try to denigrate recognizing racism and other bigotry as distinctly harmful.

This case is interesting but it's getting exhausting. I'm done commenting on it until the police issue an official report.

I don't even think its that interesting, and if it wasn't for probably half the thread being Ugly and a couple of other posters gloating about the guy possibly having made it up, and then half the rest of it being people basically just saying how they're fucked in the head, I doubt this would've been more than a few pages.

Well if you're not trying to change his mind, then what are you trying to do by slamming him?

For what it's worth a "source with intimate knowledge of the investigation" said that "investigators believe Jussie Smollett and the non-cooperating witnesses in last month’s alleged attack of the Empire actor potentially staged the attack."

https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2019/0...attack-empire-house-raid-persons-of-interest/

Both of the "persons of interest" were extras on Empire and both knew Smollett and both just happen to fly home to Nigeria the day of the incident. Good to know that TV extras have the funds for thousands in airfare - or at least SOMEONE has the funds to pay for their tickets. Just a thought.

Interesting that Nigerians would be shouting about MAGA and calling other blacks the n word and interesting that Smollett didn't mention anything about his attackers having an accent. Just another thought.

Oh, well, we shall see how it all plays out.

Hopefully this case is solved soon.

In a tweet, Anthony Guglielmi, chief communications officer for the Chicago Police Department, disputed the tweet by a reporter from Chicago's ABC affiliate, which said sources were saying that Smollett and two men staged the attack and were being questioned by police. Guglielmi said the Chicago police superintendent told the news outlet that its sources are "uninformed and inaccurate."

Looks like the true story is still to be determined. That's why I said the reporter's remarks are to be taken for what you think they're worth - and we don't know what that is. Guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

What sucks is that there is no good outcome to this. If he is lying, it hurts people in the future. If he is telling the truth, then this guy is taking a lot of shit for a horrible event that he had to go through. It is horrible no matter what.

It's looking stranger by the day. Nigerians wearing MAGA hats that have a rope handy decide to beat up a guy they used to work with.
Personally, I think they were there to deliver the ten million from the princes off shore account that Smollett helped them get out of Nigeria, and the deal went bad when Smollett wouldn't share his foot long with them.

That's nothing short of bizarre. Shouldn't driving an ice pick into the back of someones head be a hate crime? How about pouring gasoline into their car, chaining them to the steering, wheel and tossing in a match?
Idiotic grandstanding to show they're doing something. Legislation that does nothing, changes nothing, protects no one, helps no one.

Well, that is the argument against hate crimes. Its already a crime to do those things, but, it gets elevated when its a hate crime.

Not sure if you know this or not, but it's still all those other crimes. This just adds another to the list of crimes which can be charged.

Yes I've heard conservatives making that argument since I was in college in the 80's. They don't understand why we add to someone's sentence because the crime was committed with a racist motive.

In my simple world view, lynching someone is all you need to put them in solitary confinement forever. Any other crimes are window dressing.

Obviously we need to reserve absolute judgment at this point, but it seems more and more likely that this was staged and is bizarre in a lot of ways.

I want to be clear that I have no evidence here and have never met Mr. Smollett. However, given the bizarreness of the story, I have wondered since the odd details started being reported if this might be part of, for example, a manic episode.

Chicago police arrest two in Jussie Smollett case and say attack was not a hoax

Why did he originally say the attackers were white. I think the headline of your article is deeply flawed.
