You have to be terribly stupid to honestly believe that humans and chimps are apes!!

Your failure to accept that humans and chimps are apes stems from a fear of your past.

Apes remind you subconsciously of a time when humans were less evolved. You fear this lower form of humanity because lack of knowledge is dangerous. It's a fear of the unknown again. When humans were less evolved they could not foresee dangerous situations to protect themselves.

It is curious to me that humans fear both lack of knowledge from their past and increased knowledge in the future. Both are unknowns to your conscious mind at this time. Until right... now.

He(?) seems to be a Matt Slick wannabe. I don't expect any Intellectual Honesty is forthcoming or even possible.

I think I've mentioned before that I've met Matt Slick, once upon a time. Before that I even made a brief appearance on his internet radio program, not to mention countless interactions with him on his forums. I met him and his whole family in person at a meetup he put together in Southern California. His eldest daughter Rachel is now an avowed atheist and consequently something of a lightning rod due to her father's meager infamy in Apologetics.

You said the only way it would not apply is if God came down and told us.

I'll post a quote chain to try to explain my thinking.

Started with...
Isn't every version of god essentially a straw man? Everyone constructs it differently.

By which I mean that no one knows what exactly God is, therefore everyone makes their own construct.

That assumes there is no God.
Not really. It would only not apply if a God physically appeared in person and set out its position.

I'm pointing out there that my point is not about the non existence of god but that everyone has a different view of what he/her/it is and that the only way that would change is with something concrete for people to go on.

No, it assumes no God.
I posted that out of genuine confusion. What you appear to be saying (in the context of the thread) is that if nothing known about god is concrete then god doesnt exist (which I'm pretty sure you dont mean or think).

We don't need to know who is right, that's why.
Wut?

I never said that we did.
Again posted out of confusion.
My post has nothing to do with who is right. Its about how everyone has (slightly or greatly) differing ideas about what god is (or isnt).

You said the only way it would not apply is if God came down and told us.
Yes, thats the only way that everyone would have a similar idea what god was and not have a self constructed idea what he/she/it is/isnt.

But look, I really don't care about this point so I'm not going to talk about it further.

I do though, so I'm going to continue to post about it. :p

Ick. I simply wouldn't have the patience to discuss this issue with him. Watched a few debates/discussions he has had and wanted to smack him within a few minutes. One of them I watched was with ARonra. Slick would just lob a stupid grenade and Aron would start explaining why it was stupid, Slick would interrupt constantly and change the subject just as Aron was getting to the point of showing how stupid Slick's statement was.

Just another self righteous mindless intellectually dishonest Pre-Sup douchebag asshole.

And yet you seem to have no problem equating a belief in God with a belief in Santa Claus.

Why would/should this be a problem?

Belief is belief, the whole point of it is that it doesnt need any external validation.

Why is a belief in Santa Claus any less worthy of respect than a belief in Vishnu, or the Christian God, or Odin?

You guys are being trolled by someone with the mental capacity of a 6th grader in buckshot. Guy simple makes the silliest claims, it's obvious he knows nothing about evolution or his own bible.

Allowing something to happen is not the same thing as choosing it to happen.

It is when you are all powerful and can see the future that you created. He could step in anytime to stop said bad thing from happening if he wished. But he doesnt because it is what he predetermined would happen to you.

Nope. Still not Welshbloke who said that. Cant believe i have to say this twice now. You can keep trying to fake someone out with your childish mind that it wasnt your fellow theist brother who said that, but we see right through your lame attempts at lying. To hell with you.

Allowing something to happen is not the same thing as choosing it to happen.

When you created everything knowing everything that would happen with the power to do anything and everything then yes it is the same.

Would you rather have freedom to act as you wish or would you rather be a puppet on a string?

But no, God creating and knowing the outcome isn't the same thing as forcing it to happen. No matter how many times you say otherwise, you're wrong.

LOL This is buckshot24 putting in fingers in ear going NANANANANANA

So childish.
The point was completely irrelevant and I was right anyway.

Why don't you try and prove some of those claims instead of name calling?

So God created the outcome but hes not responsible for it?

If God created the outcome then God directly caused it to happen, obviously not what I'm saying.

But no, God creating and knowing the outcome isn't the same thing as forcing it to happen. No matter how many times you say otherwise, you're wrong.

Bah. The trolling is just too obvious now.

I'm out, lads. I'd like ta keep my sanity intact.

If God created everything and he's omniscient then no one has free will, our actions have already been decided by the being that chose to create us that way. This is simple logic.

edit: Plus, I'm not even saying God isn't responsible.

God decided the outcome when he created us knowing exactly what we would do.

Yet it is. Buck-o here would have us believe that a perfect marksman is not responsible for the path of his inerrantly aimed bullet, even though he pulled the trigger knowing precisely where it would travel.

In crazy religion world, bullets have free will.
