Baloney. Again, that's like saying whoever you're attracted to is 'learned behavior'. It is not, and neither is your taste. Now you could desensitize yourself to something, but that doesn't mean it's no longer repulsive, it just means you've gotten better at not reacting to it.

I'm going to slightly disagree with you here. I find a man kissing a man gross because I'm not in the least bit attracted to men. The same way that I'd find an unattractive male and an unattractive female kissing to be gross. I'm assuming that's how most people feel, regardless of how they feel about gay people. So I'm not sure it's fair to apply the bigot label so quickly to people that don't want to see two men kiss.

Small children for instance don't find it disgusting because they've not yet been taught that it's disgusting. Actually there is a perfectly rational reason to find 2 men kissing to be gross. Seems to me that kissing(at least romantic kissing) in general is gross. I mean think of all the bacteria living in another person's mouth D:

Its just that sexual desire can override said normal repulsion. Which is probably why many straight men would prefer to see 2 women kiss than a man and a woman kiss. Double the override so to speak 😉

There's a difference between instinctive behavior and learned behavior. I have no idea what it is like to be gay as I'm not, all I can piece together what it might be like is by what they say. Every gay person I've ever spoken too and has talked about it has said that they've known they were attracted to the same sex since they can remember. I don't know, I can't get in their head. But to say you can't get over the idea of men kissing as it isn't learned is wrong... guess what, I've done it and it really doesn't bother me anymore.

But then again, I'm also secure in my sexuality... anything you want to talk about?

However, there's a fine line between not wanting to see it and going online to tell the world you think it's disgusting, and ESPN should be ashamed for airing it, and other such nonsense that people posted to Twitter during the telecast. I was curious about how often draftees are shown kissing their partners, and literally the first person I looked up (Robert Griffin III) was shown kissing his girlfriend after getting drafted. I don't recall a big Twitter outcry about how disgusting it was to show public displays of affection back then. But I guess it's different if you can't get an erection watching it. The double standard, that's where the bigotry comes in; it's OK if this class of people does it, but if this other group of people does it, I'm raising hell.

You do realize that it is possible for 2 straight people of the same gender to kiss right? In fact straight women often do it for attention.

How do you know its learned?

IMHO it seems like a perfectly natural reaction to see men kissing romantically to be gross:

1) Its atypical behavior
2) its very different from how most people are born.. ie most people are born heterosexual to see something that differs from that should/is off putting.

Honestly, for me it's a natural reaction for as long as I can remember, I've been that way.

Saying its a learned behavior is the same as saying being gay is a learned behavior -- I was born this way.

I see straight people kissing all the time and never have I thought that it was gross. I just view it with disinterest. It is on par with a cow chewing hay for me. Not good or bad, it just is.

Your upbringing and experiences of course shaped your reactions to basically all social situations. The part when we become adults is to step back and ask why we might react the way that we do to some things and does it actually make any logical sense.

You think people are innately repulsed by same sex behavior? Given the prevalence of homosexuality in numerous different cultures around the world that seems unlikely.

most surveys put homosexuality at ~5% of the population. In the grand scheme of things that's hardly any.

If you didn't have to not be repulsed, then I didn't have to learn to be. I think its natural, actually, just like it is to be right-handed.
 
Couples who go overboard with their PDA's are almost always attention whores. Limiting your PDA to what is society currently deems acceptable is simply a sign of respect.

Much like cursing around children in public is frowned upon let legal, so is going overboard with your PDA. It is simply a matter of courtesy and respect, not bigotry as it applies across the spectrum.
