Here's what I wrote:

If I thought straight kissing was "icky", am I a bigot?

No, I don't see how you could possibly have gotten that from what I wrote. I'm baffled.

The you added:

If you didn't want to watch kissing that's fine. If you don't want to watch certain kissing based on the sexual orientation of those involved, you're a bigot.

Seems like you said no I'm not bigoted for refusing to watch straight kissing, but then you change it later in your quote.

I finally watched the clip to see what kind of libertine debauchery ESPN was airing these days and was very underwhelmed. It was two quick kisses. You could have taken a long drink from your beverage and avoided PTSD altogether.

I liked how ESPN brought the camera in. They knew exactly what they were doing and everyone watching knew what they were probably going to see. I'm sure some of the aggrieved parties were secretly hoping for more.

Also, Retro Rob, nobody is feeding Christians to the lions. Get over it.

Yet another Obama campaign promise broken.

See, you have this wrong. It was only broadcasted globally because they were 2 gay men. If it was no big deal, they wouldn't have broadcast it at all.

So is it a big deal? Since people want this broadcasted globally, of course there is going to be backlash against it. Some do not want to see it. I don't. If that means I'm a bigot, then I'm proud to be a bigot.

Really, I couldn't care less about sports, I don't want to see it, hear about it, talk about it, yet I see it plastered all over CNN, on these forums, and if I bothered to log into facebook, probably all over that as well.

I honestly think there are more important things for the minds of the masses to worry about than a few homo men kissing each other over one being drafted. If it was a man and a woman, it wouldn't have hit the news period... So, are gay men special?

You're right, there was nothing special about Jackie Robinson, Jessie Owens, Kathrine Switzer, or many other 'firsts'. 🙄

He is the first openly gay pro football player. Like it or not, that is, by definition, news. He broke down a barrier that was previously never done.
I agree there are literally millions of things that are technically speaking more important and should be addressed (but I'm guessing we're at opposing views as to what's important and what's not)
However, in today's culture, this news sells, it brings in viewers, it generates 'hits' on websites.
Personally I'd rather see a story about something happy than another horrifying shooting at a school/mall/warehouse etc. And in my less than humble opinion, this is very happy news and a historical event as well.
So there you go, you witnessed history in the making. Congrats!

I literally just cut and pasted what I wrote before. I thought what I wrote was very clear: if you don't want to watch any kissing at all that's fine. If you selectively don't want to watch people kissing based on their sexual orientation, that makes you a bigot. Sexual orientation means any sexual orientation, gay or straight.

Meh. Couldn't care less.

But its pretty clear leftists view gay people and minorities as cute curiosities, almost like they are at the zoo or something.

You forgot the first part of your quote, the part that caused confusion:

:hmm: I actually feel like this is a pretty reasonable response. I'm more grossed out about how the media has pumped this event than a stupid kiss.

What if you don't want to watch 2 guys kissing, but do want to watch 2 girls kissing?:sneaky:

So I am confused. Eskimospy keeps saying we shouldn't see any difference between 2 dudes kissing and a guy kissing a girl. And yet you are telling me that 2 dudes kissin is some kind of historical event...

That seems like a pretty massive contradiction to me.

The kissing part is not the historical event you twat. The fact that an openly gay player was drafted (to his detriment IMO, as there were teams that could use him better offering him contracts if he went undrafted) into a league that has long been known as being homophobic. There are reports of quite a few gay players who refuse to come out, due to it likely costing them their jobs.

The only reason there were TV cameras in the room (regardless of what the moron media says, he wasn't projected to be anything but a 7th round, if that) was because there was the slight opportunity for an openly gay player to be drafted.

The fact he celebrated it with a PDA with his BF is irrelevant.

Because one is talking about it from a news stand point and one is talking about it from a human standpoint. You should also realize that they are two different people, so I'm not sure why you're responding to them as if they were one person contradicting himself.

Good thing all christians agree on exactly the same story of jesus, god, creation, etc. as one another. Right?

Not a fan of PDA? What makes you uncomfortable about two people kissing? Don't look. I'll be happy when two gay dudes making out isn't a news story.

If two guys do it, pretty soon half the room is going to do it, leading to a disruptive situation.

Jerseys and shirts with Sam's name are selling like hot cakes.

Funneling even more money to rich old white men.

I was smiling just at the thought of all the mouth-breathers filling with rage as Football was tarnished with such satanic filth.......right before the most homophobic of them filled with confusion and embarrassment as they realized they were turned on.

You trying to turn this into a TH thread? 🙂

There is no right or wrong, but I have my preferences.

I prefer to NOT see two men kiss
I prefer to NOT see a man and woman kiss
I prefer to NOT see two women kiss
I DO PREFER to see two sexy women kiss and laws should be passed to force this in public.

😀

so you've been desensitized?
No, that would imply that I've seen a lot of men kissing each other and I've actually seen very few. I just decided it was a stupid reaction to a harmless display of affection and that I would no longer have it.

The first men I ever saw kiss were Doc Sevrenson and Bill Cosby on Carson. Kinda hard to be outraged . . .

Sorry, 2 men kissing each other is gross.

Seems to me that people flipping out over saying 2 guys kissing is gross are essentially trying to implement thought crime.
My point was that YOU have complete control over what you consider gross. I do agree about the thought crime part, but that's human nature and it's not been that long ago that you've have gotten the same reaction for saying that 2 guys kissing is not gross. Apparently the desire to control others is intrinsic to the human condition.

What, by acknowledging they exist? By not treating them as scapegoats and property?

Absolutely not. I have no more control over what I consider gross than someone else has control over who they are attracted to. If I find something disgusting, I can't just magically make it not disgusting. I have control over my reaction to it (ie, what I choose to do - turn the channel, continue to watch etc), but that's it.

Heck, according the bigots like eskimo, your mere preferences to enjoy something or not enjoy something make you a bad person if you disagree with him. He's a good example of "tolerant" bigotry.

Watching you fuckwits do the whole "YOU'RE A BIGOT BECAUSE YOU'RE INTOLERANT OF MY BIGOTRY" schtick is akin to watching that scene from Clerks 2 where Jay tries to explain the rationale behind his "Porch Monkey: We're Taking it Back" campaign.

...only less funny.

Lol bigots hate when you expose them by simply reversing their arguements.

Sure you do. Just try it. If there's no rational reason to find something gross, it's easy enough to change if you try.

This is all learned behavior. There is nothing inherently disgusting about two men kissing. Small children for instance don't find it disgusting because they've not yet been taught that it's disgusting. If something is not inherently disgusting, then you have the power to not consider it disgusting.
