what is a scantron machine?

Ever take a "bubble test" where you fill in little circles using a "number 2 pencil"? "Scantron machines" grade them super-fast with I guess some sort of laser. So instead of a teach spending pointless hours grading multiple choice tests and invariably making errors, then machine does the grading instantly with very few errors. The punks in this thread claiming the OP and other Scantron using teachers are lazy, are idiots. I'll bet they'd say that teachers should compute grades by hand instead of using a spreadsheet, and write-out each exam by hand instead of using a computer and a photocopier.

Make one of those nifty circle punch graders. Where, the right answre is punched out. You put the key on top of the test and any holes that arent marked are wrong.

Can you say "hanging chad"? 😉

Oh my.... no scantron. What the heck; it's the end of the world. Are you folks all from Chicago or something? Why does a high school NEED a scantron???

There's a reason our schools are all down the tubes; all the tests are multiple choice and all the money goes to laziness machines.......

:disgust::disgust:

EDIT:

Just to clarify, I was in the first graduating class (of 23 including 3 exchange students) at my charter high school that my parents and a bunch of friends started up, which is now taking over from the city public school; I've never heard of a high school even having a scantron, and think it's silly that you'd expect every school to have one. Sorry for sounding so ... disgusted?
