cool, you'll have to job to me so I can get it too. :)

Kev, I don't see your tag in the 360 gamertag threads. What is it?

We're all gunning for you now...

I thought you have to beat a creator of the game? So once I get it I can give it out, kinda like an std?

exactly

I played co-op with my brother last night. We beat it on medium and let me say, the bass stuff is quite rough on most songs compared to the guitar. I can't remember what song, but I remember I had a ton of notes to play as the bass and he had a ton of holds for almost the entire song. I gave him the guitar to play as because he's better and I thought it'd be harder :(.

He also showed me how to do that Holiday in Cambodia song on Expert... looked a lot like "survive the beginning and it's a joke after that." Then Through Fire and Flames on expert... and he only hit 56% of the notes. The beginning looked rather tough with a lot of Green+(Other Notes... usually two or three) in fast succession. The rest looked like it wasn't horribly bad until it got to the guitar solos, they seemed a little bit worse. I know I won't be able to do it :p.

I think I'm getting a bit better at my 3 finger play style rather than using four fingers like some (most) people do. Only problem is I'm an idiot sometimes and think I'm on the wrong key and I'll move and I was actually on the right one. Also not being some musically inclined person, I just kind of guess how fast to press the strum bar sometimes :p.

I fail TFAF at 1% on expert.. lol... i can't do that intro, and it's over before I can even see what's happening. I did it in practice mode just so i could at least see what notes I'm supposed to play, but I still fail instantly at full speed.. lol.

I'm still stuck on Raining Blood... that song just pwns me. I've at least passed everything else on expert. I finally got a 5 star on Cliffs of Dover, I love that song!

My stats seem to be updating quicker. I got 250k+ on One on Medium last nite, and it showed up today properly.

Yeah, when he showed it to me, he stopped before the notes even came and put it on Practice mode instead. To me, I think it'd simply be hard keeping your one finger on the green and moving the others... it's almost unnatural.

I think you mean the Slipknot song... the constant, varied chords make my fingers feel like they're going to break.

I beat Cult of Personality on Expert today... onto tier 8. <gulp>

I can't beat the Devil on hard for the life of me. It's ridiculous. Any tips? The only really important parts are the ones with the power-ups and he usually does one against me right as my chance appears screwing me up.

Instead I moved on to expert. Halfway through - it's a lot easier to fail in GH3 than GH2. I can't beat The Metal because I miss like 3 notes every 20 or so and it still drops me down a whole level.

Edit: Oh, and something I found - you don't even need to do the boss battles in the career mode (aside from the Devil). Just fail them right as the battle starts and you can "wuss out" and continue. I did this instead of beating Slash on expert.

Xbox live applied an update to GH3 for me today. Still can't play online. Does anyone know what the update was supposed to do?

Since we're all in the same tour group, it might be helpful for everyone to know the equation used for calculating groupies. Everything that earns you groupie points is near the bottom of this post in the forums: thread

I really dislike some of their point system. I'd much rather it just be "highest score = highest rank". I don't really want to play through on Easy just to get more points...

Regardless, Go Team Sochl!

I heard that a lot of their stuff is "sped up" in the studio and they don't actually sound like that live.

Just survive the beginning. Watching my brother do it, he was about to die after that and easily went back up to full green.

Does anyone else have very little interest in rock band like me? Especially after seeing the song list. GH3 blows it away.

Well you heard that from somebody who can't cope with how damn fast Hermann Li is. He's most definitely that fast live, as I've seen them several times. I've heard this before too and it's just a BS rumor.

Either way, if you listen to DF for any amount of time you'll notice that really fast guitar starts sounding the same in every song and gets pretty boring. But it's not fake.

There are definite changes being made to the www.guitarhero.com site as we speak. I lost all my recent performances about an hour ago, but I just went and played two songs that I hadn't tried before (to try out the groupie rules I posted earlier) and not only did the performances show up within 2-3 minutes, the groupie total also changed. It appears to have uploaded some of my career totals but it still seems buggy. For instance, the "awards" for me beating Medium & Hard haven't shown up and my solo data is also shown in the co-op career stats.

But at least they're starting to make some progress.

The GH site seems to be working quite well now. Everything is updating quickly and stuff is getting tallied as expected.

Kidding, of course. Thanks for the reply on my invite tonight. If others are willing, we'll have to try to set up a time to all play multiplayer against each other.

I got lucky against GORcorps tonight in a regular faceoff but for some reason it didn't give me the "Meet Your Maker" achievement. Maybe it has to be a particular match type.
