Do you have to be logged in to both the website and the game to have your stats upload into the website?

You'd think that you would be able to link your account when your 360 is off, but with the way this clusterfsk is working, I wouldnt be suprised if you needed to be logged into both at the same time.

I find myself occasionally missing stuff that I normally hit all the time and am wondering if it's the guitar at fault, or if I'm just sucking. I'll have to plug the xplorer in tonight and see if that makes any difference...

Mine started messing up on me last night... I just hit start, unlocked the neck of the guitar, pushed it back in and relocked. I didn't have a problem after that. I should just super glue the damn things together :p. For me, I hit green and wondered why I kept missing when I thought I was hitting it. I watched the bottom and the green kept cutting out and coming back in.

I was going nuts last night while playing online. I was missing notes like crazy but I think the issue was lag related not guitar related. I haven't had a problem with it in single player. Does anyone know if the Wii and 360 use the same neck and just plug into different bodies?

been trying for a good portion of the night on hard, i think my hand's about to fall off...

Dude, if you even COMPLETE that song on hard, you're definitely the man! I can't even come close to completing it on easy. :( It's just freakin' ridiculous!

christ just beat it on Hard, that song kicked my ass so many times. as long as you can make it through the first 35% you're set.

After you get past the first 10-15% or so it's not bad. I was stuck on that part (Expert) for quite a while the other day.

At least it gives you the hardest part right in the beginning, not like "Devil Went Down to Georgia" (Hard) which makes me keep playing the same easy part over to get to the actual battling.

So out of curiousity - at least on real guitar - only a noob plays all down strums. For GH - I've only used downstrums. For the repeated notes (which I suck terribly at, regardless of skill level) - do you do both up and down strums? Just looking for tips on how to improve my game.

Also wondering if you had tips on the repeating notes...I always always always fvck up on those. :(

Dude, if that song took you out, I don't want to even touch it. :(

here's someone good playing it ->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7L-MZLxxdI

i can only get like 9% through right now

I just cannot fathom how someone strums up and down fast enough to get those insane lines of notes. That's my biggest weakness and biggest hate in Guitar Hero is those very, very tightly sequences notes in one line. I just can't do it.

I think it's the fact that they both use the up and down stroke, as it's needed with a real guitar. Just never gotten used to it in GH3, was hoping someone more advanced could tell me how they do it.

yay!! I finally beat Raining Blood on Hard and was able to link my account online. That final tier was brutal compared to the one before...

Now I'm on the battle with Lou... is it me or is it crazy impossible? I'm not even sure if I'm going to be able to beat it on hard. There are no powerups for a long time and he gets the first one :(

Unfortunately, there's really no secret to it. You just have to force yourself to do it and realize you're going to fail for a while. :p I only strum up when it's absolutely necessary, which is thankfully not that often until the last tier or two.

I never got used to it on GH2, but for several spots on 3 I've had to strum up and down at a few parts if I was going to pass the song. The two that come to mind are Metallica's "One" on Hard and that crazy part at the beginning of Holiday at Cambodia on Expert.

There are others in here that are a heck of a lot better than me, hopefully they have better advice for all of us.

Congrats, and yes, Lou starts to get ridiculous on Hard. Right now I'm stuck there on Hard and I'm on tier 7 on Expert.

Ya, I know they use the up and down stroke......but like I said before, I don't see how they strum up and down that fast. I'd be afraid that I'd break my little plastic wonder by going that fast.

Wow, Tom Morello just owned me to the point where the game took pity on me and asked if I wanted to wuss out... I feel sad.

He beat me a LOT on Medium today. I found the easiest way to beat him is just get the last battle thing (difficulty up) and use it on him on his solo at the end. He pretty much dropped from a full meter to nothing in about 5 seconds.

I started playing medium today and it's so different going from three to four since I still use only 3 fingers. I tried using my middle finger on the yellow strum but that just seemed to mess me up, so I kept it on the red instead. I may have to learn how to put it in the middle as that'll probably be the easiest way.

EDIT:

Oh yeah, my controller has been getting worse and worse lately. I can't even count how many times it's messed me up on a song when I was doing well :(. Detachable neck ftl.

I finally got online to work. How come when I'm playing someone in face off there are parts to the song where it doesn't give me any notes to play?

I figured it was just a way to simulate competing guitarists going back and forth at one another. I have yet to try "Pro Face Off", so I don't know what the difference is, but maybe that will be more to your liking.

I think Face Off is an attempt at like a "battle" of guitarists. It sure as hell beats both of you just playing the same notes.

Face Off lets each user select independent difficulties, Pro Face Off forces both players into the same difficulty.
