I find myself occasionally missing stuff that I normally hit all the time and am wondering if it's the guitar at fault, or if I'm just sucking. I'll have to plug the xplorer in tonight and see if that makes any difference...
Mine started messing up on me last night... I just hit start, unlocked the neck of the guitar, pushed it back in and relocked. I didn't have a problem after that. I should just super glue the damn things together. For me, I hit green and wondered why I kept missing when I thought I was hitting it. I watched the bottom and the green kept cutting out and coming back in.

After you get past the first 10-15% or so it's not bad. I was stuck on that part (Expert) for quite a while the other day.
At least it gives you the hardest part right in the beginning, not like "Devil Went Down to Georgia" (Hard) which makes me keep playing the same easy part over to get to the actual battling.

I just cannot fathom how someone strums up and down fast enough to get those insane lines of notes. That's my biggest weakness and biggest hate in Guitar Hero is those very, very tightly sequences notes in one line. I just can't do it.

So out of curiousity - at least on real guitar - only a noob plays all down strums. For GH - I've only used downstrums. For the repeated notes (which I suck terribly at, regardless of skill level) - do you do both up and down strums? Just looking for tips on how to improve my game.
Also wondering if you had tips on the repeating notes...I always always always fvck up on those.![]()

yay!! I finally beat Raining Blood on Hard and was able to link my account online. That final tier was brutal compared to the one before...
Now I'm on the battle with Lou... is it me or is it crazy impossible? I'm not even sure if I'm going to be able to beat it on hard. There are no powerups for a long time and he gets the first one![]()

I think it's the fact that they both use the up and down stroke, as it's needed with a real guitar. Just never gotten used to it in GH3, was hoping someone more advanced could tell me how they do it.

I finally got online to work. How come when I'm playing someone in face off there are parts to the song where it doesn't give me any notes to play?

I figured it was just a way to simulate competing guitarists going back and forth at one another. I have yet to try "Pro Face Off", so I don't know what the difference is, but maybe that will be more to your liking.
