I wonder if AMD has drivers waiting in the wings to counter the gtx 700 series release. Maybe GCN has some extra umph in her?

might want to wait until they fix the crossfire issues unless you also want epic framerate latency and micro-stuttering.Lets hope AMD drops prices in response and i can get another 7970 for £200 and run CF! Epic performance for tiny money.

The 7970GE is NOT $400. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...0GHz%20Edition
Cheapest before any rebate is $450. Cheapest with rebate is $420
Cheapest GTX680 is $430. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ce%20GTX%20680
People, QUIT SPREADING FUD to make your posts look better. It just makes you look stupid.
Sorry, it's not FUD, it was a simple mistake because only a few weeks ago GHz 7970s were ~$400-$410. The 7970 GE is simply an overclocked 7970 and the 7970 can be bought for $360.
This doesn't change that the main part of my post was to ask you to provide evidence for your claims that the GTX780 rumours show it to be ~20% faster than a 7970GE. All the evidence I have seen points to it being ~20% faster than GTX680. Can you link to the rumours that show GTX780 to be on average 20% faster than 7970 @ GE speeds please?
the GTX 780 should end up anywhere between 25 and 50 percent faster than the HD 7970 GHz Edition
Are you qualifying a resolution and then rounding down to make your argument look as good as possible? 28 reviews showing 33% at 2560x1440, 45% faster at mutlimonitorTitan is ~30 faster than HD 7970 @ GHz speeds

Titan is ~30 faster than HD 7970 @ GHz speeds, so GTX780 20% faster than 7970GE would make it only 10% slower than Titan. That would be bad because no way in hell it would be $500-$550 given how seriously close to Titan it would be.
Seems guru3d also included the 780 in the metro last light bench tests:

Wow, that's it? 18 months later and this card at stock isn't even faster than my 7970. Yikes. Bring on 20nm, this is pathetic.LOL guru3d removed the GTX780 from the chart.. now we know its 20% faster than 680. Probably around 15% faster than 7970GE.
Damn I think this are our last 28nm gpu.. with that difference in perf, AMD wont do a fucking refresh.
23% faster ICDP.

~ means approximation. But hey whatever, you win yet another petty argument that wasn't an argument. It seems a person can't even ask you a genuine question without it degrading onto a petty point scoring match. Way to drag the thread down to the usual level.![]()

I'm not sure if you've checked some current reviews. Things seem to have gotten better lately.
[H] Titan vs. 7990 review compares Titan, 7990, 680SLI, and 7970GHz crossfire. They make no mention of crossfire being problematic and said the 7970GHz crossfire gave the best gaming experience.
Guru3D reviewed Metro LL and looking at the "Frametime Performance" it seems that the only issues experienced they chalked up to the game.

I'm not ready to pronounce crossfire as equal to SLI yet. We need more testing over a wider range of games, but I also don't think it's as "broken" as some would lead us to believe. It certainly doesn't seem to deserve the title of epic frame latency and micro-stuttering.
AMD hasn't released their driver that supposedly addresses the frame latency problem so how did it just magically fix itself? Talk about dreaming.
