This is the guy I was thinking about that nobody knew his name .....

WILL HURD

The former Texas congressman kicked off his bid on June 22 on “CBS Mornings,” hoping to build momentum as a more moderate alternative to Trump. Hurd, a onetime CIA officer and fierce Trump critic, served three terms in the House through January 2021 and was the chamber’s only Black Republican during his final two years in office.

On the surface he doesn't sound horrible, which probably means he never had a chance.
As if voluntarily being part of the Republican party in any capacity doesn't qualify as horrible.

Chris Christie has officially dropped out of the race. I'm no fan, but his dropping out speech was probably the best thing I've heard come out of him. Points, he's NOT endorsing any other candidate. He's said that he made the point that Trump was unfit for office and the fact that neither of his opponents would admit that, means they are also unfit for office. He also pointed out that he polled all of the other candidates during a debate as to whether they would support Trump if he were convicted, all of them except Desantis said yes until Ron looked around and saw all the other hands up, so he raised his hand then. Wonderful scorched earth.

he should have endorsed biden to top it off. that would have been icing on the cake. would it change many minds? i'm not so sure. but it would make the point that the republican party is so awful, that even for a self-avowed republican, the only choice at this point is to support the not-supporting-a-dictator candidate

Damn, I was thinking of trailing off with. Seems like an endorsement for Biden.

Got to hand it to him.
Chris Christie is the last Republican with the guts to stand up to Donald Trump.
The rest of them.... there are only so many words for filth.
