They had an interesting mechanic to the debate, You got 30 seconds rebuttal time if somebody refered to you by name. This guaranteed that the biggest idiots saying the most absurd things got more time to be idiots.

We’re the candidates asked if they would pardon anyone convicted for Jan 6?

Don't live in silos. Watch the debate and understand the issues, and be informed in your opinion based on broad exposure.

It was actually somewhat informative as that loud mouth fool Trump wasn't there disrupting.

My impressions:
- Vivek is a clown and a distraction. Will end up like the Asian MATH guy in the D debates who's already been forgotten.

- Tim Scott disappeared, and only had platitudes when he woke up. Senators.. :/

- Meatball Ron sucks, bigly. Most punchable face. F this guy.

- Pence, well, performs well in this format, but has no chance

Don't care to comment on the rest of the nobody's.

As a moderate D, Nikki Haley impressed. She came off as conservative, but moderated. Kinda where I thought Christie had a space, but she fills it far better. She will do well in a general.... if the R primary voters weren't retarded maga nut jobs.

Otoh, I do think the country has a yearning to elect a woman president that's not Hillary,. MGT or Kamala. In fact, she's looking like what Ds hoped Kamala would blossom into, but it's just not clicking. If not 24, she's a on the watch for 28.

Agreed w her on Ukraine, moderate abortion stance, and general foreign policy.

Wasn't afraid to admit climate change, but questioned for effectiveness of policies and holding other large polluters accountable. That will have broad appeal.

I like Christie is there for tough talk, but Haley is the better non-maga alternative.

Yeah, but they mostly danced. Only Vivek was highly affirmative.
Christie called to talk and walk law and order.
Pence gave a pence answer (ie jello)

I understand the temptation to watch, reminds me of watching Tammy Faye on her christian tv show. You just had to watch because it was so pathetically hilarious.
And so.... this is what republicans have to chose from? This, and Trump?
Looks like Joe will be getting his second term after all, and quite easily.

I saw Darling Nikki lambaste Vivek for siding with Putin. She was UN ambassador when Trump sided with Putin over his own country at Helsinki and she kept silent.

If Trump gets the nom, Biden wins.
If Haley, she will win if she continues like today.

The rest... IDK

She's two faced for sure, otoh, she might be the only Trump official that was able to use him and throw him away rather than the other way around. She's pro.

What disqualifies her and pretty much every Republican is her support to pardon trump.

LOL @ Murica has a "has a yearning to elect a woman president" and that Nikki Haley would do well in a general election if she could only get there. :tearsofjoy:

Live with democratic (sane) commentary.
Yeah, I was just looking for a live stream with no commentary. There were a thousand videos with talking heads and for the life of me I couldn't figure out which one was supposed to actually show the candidates talking. I went through a few and it was just ... talking heads.

Nikki said today she would pardon trump.
I'm guessing they would all pardon him. Especially if he gets convicted in Georgia and has to serve time. They can pardon him from his Federal convictions and claim to be doing all they can to support him but he still wouldn't be able to make a comeback. Best of both worlds for a Republican president.

In the 10 minutes I saw I think I caught her “moderate” abortion stance. She plead to find common ground on banning late term abortions and pushing for adoptions. All things that make sense on the surface to people who are ignorant of why late term abortions happen.

What I heard was let’s force families to pay $100,000’s in medical bills to watch their wanted pregnancy end in horrible pain as their babies gasp for air for hours or a few days dying from unpreventable birth defects.

I also heard that in those awful situations that should be the parents responsibility to determine the least harm to their children themselves and their families, that she feels it’s the governments right to determine the outcome.

And finally since she should know all of this I heard her saying I don’t care about the pain this policy causes vulnerable women, children and families if it gets me elected.

I do agree with you that she’s probably the best of them.

So much this. Her "moderate" stance on aborition is still pretty fucking radical and ignorant of what actually happens. Healthcare decisions need to be left to women and their doctors. Keep the state the fuck out of it.

As I said before, reinforce HIPAA so the states can't even know what happens.

Let the AMA and other professional medical groups decide which procedures should be available.

I'm personally not watching any of these clown shows, R or D.

You'd be more "informed" reading for 10 minutes on each of the candidates and reading up on their histories than watching that dreck. And you won't be giving Fox any money. Buy ymmv.
