Would make an interesting poll. The best way is probably a thermos and to drink it at your leisure. Some days I can see people not wanting coffee until noon.

Morning coffee's my favorite. Aside from the hottest days of summer, I'll drink 2L of coffee before noon. Summer, I sometimes have a cup or so left when I get home from work. In winter, I sometimes make another pot when I get home. Tonight, I made a cup of instant.

Me too. I love the coffee aroma, and the whole process. Waking up, checking the news, waiting for the coffee to brew, taking a couple sips etc.

This is the absolute best, especially when you're in no rush to be anywhere. Saturday morning I throw on ESPN for college GameDay and head into the kitchen to make a few cups.

Agree, except with the bolded part. Why?

Liquid crack.

I haven't had that particular one, but I also enjoy a good imperial from time to time as well. I brew my own, and even my BMC drinking friends tend to like it as well. I might agree that the IPA thing is well out of hand, but a good stout isn't a hipster thing, it's just tasty beer.

Give yourself a treat and go find it. Its really one of the best stouts out there IMO. Although i do really like Lost Coasts 8 Ball Stout a lot.

I don't like "creamer", if you mean non-dairy creamer. Has to be 10% or 18% real cream or I'm not interested.

Why do you say this is the lazy method? This is what we do, and it's a standard method of making coffee. Although the in-laws bought us a coffee maker with a built-in grinder so it does the grinding and dumping of grounds into filter automatically.

its lazy because a french press makes better coffee, but takes more effort. An Aeropress makes better coffee, but more effort. Also, having an awesome grinder with a timer vs using a piece of shit grinder = easy and effort free :)

Basically, the point I am trying to make, is that it is so quick and so easy, that even the laziest man alive agrees that its simple quick and easy.

I'm a fan of this stout.

Mothers Milk and the Old Rasputin are my personal favorites.

I really like the stouts that they age in whiskey barrels. Makes for a hell of a drink.

I have to have non dairy creamer or I'll fart all day long and eventually shit myself. I prefer the souther butter pecan creamer.

Then, why do people drink decaffeinated coffee? I absolutely love opening up a fresh bag of coffee and inhaling deeply. The aroma is intoxicating. And, I love the flavor - black. I might agree with you to an extent about the taste for some people - they have to water it down with half a cup of cream, and a few spoonfuls of sugar.
See, the things I don't like are obviously terrible, that's why I don't like them. So there's definitely something wrong with anyone that likes terrible things. They're terrible. How could you like them? It's more likely that you're just LYING to me AND YOURSELF!
Yes, it's clearly a very sound logical argument. People spend time and money on these coffees and beers that it's clearly impossible to like, just because that's what people do.

And re: imperial beers, Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is so effing amazing. I love it.

Dammit, guys. They have this at the store in town, and it's one of the ones I'm yet to try. Guess I'll go for it this weekend.

I've been hearing that a LOT over the last year. I'm gonna be upset if all the naysayers ruin it for me and I can't buy Coop F5 or Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter anymore.

I had some New Holland Dragon's Milk on tap while I was on vacation, was happy to see them stocking it at my local store.

Why have I never heard of this before? I love their ~10% Hoptimum brew. It'll hit you like a sack of bricks before you even know what happened.

Oh, I think some of the better IPAs will stick around. There are a BUNCH of really crappy ones out there right now though so sifting through the chaff can be a bit daunting.

Not sure if anyone has access to it, but Moonman from New Glarus is a fantastic IPA. They actually call it an APA but it's in that same category. I make sure to pick some of that up anytime I am in Wisconsin.

I thought hipsters only drank PBR, and only truly splurged with shitty, cheap, Trader Joe's IPA extracts?

I have made that my weekend mission.

You can usually find Old Rasputin at Trader Joe's actually. In most markets, anyway.

8 Ball is good, though I haven't had it in years.
Shakespeare (Rogue) is my long time favorite, though I also haven't had it in years.
Really special baltic porter: Utenos. cheap and delicious, if you can find it. Special because it is both tasty, substantial, and ~$2.50 for a pint bottle...again, if you can find it.

IPAs aren't going anywhere. They are cheap and perhaps the easiest style to make--all flaws more or less easily hidden. Some are really good, but the market is so bloated that most are just terrible.

Of course, don't worry about Sierra Nevada going anywhere.

I used my aeropress for a little over a year, loved it. Received a semi-chip japanese drip coffee basket type of thing (glass funnel with cloth drip basket--the kind the hipsters use). It's pretty simple and while great, it takes way longer and the cleanup is horrible.

I went back to aeropress because it is much faster and the cleanup is better than anything I have used (well, I guess disposable filters are the easiest, but this is both simple and tastes close to french press)

I had some local coffee beer. Hated it. Chocolate covered coffee beans are nice though. Hard to stop until you've eaten a handful though, which causes quite the buzz. Too much, actually.

It makes me sad that WI isn't all that far from here, yet do we have any of their beer? Nooo... went into a liquor store there in July and I was like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to take one of everything home with me.
Admittedly, I've had some "double" and "triple" IPAs that brought shame to all of beer-kind.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the brewery themselves, just things like Hop Hunter and Torpedo.
We have a local one called "Hopluia" that's just an embarrassment to our state. Fortunately, Nebraska Brewing Company is fighting the good fight.

We use disposable filters with Bunn-o-matic thermal carafe. Proper temperature, fast brew, least maintenance of all drip options.

I use a small french press each morning to make a single cup of coffee before going to work. Not really any hassle, and much better than the instant coffee I used before.
