There you go and you know, you probably wouldn't sound like some self obsessed blowhard if you did:thumbsup:

Politics are much better discussed over beers anyway, takes the edge off imo

Can you imagine having a few beers with the likes of winnar111, budmantom or socio and discussing politics? I'd need a good lawyer by the end of the night.

I delete chain mail. So should you. Nothing good will come from this thing. All it will do is piss a lot of people off for 15 minutes and then it will be forgotten. Waste of time and energy. Focus on things that actually help instead.

It would be like Obama trying to discuss politics with Rush

Well guys, I am still trying to find a business with 14 employees and a boss making over $200,000.00 to qualify for the higher taxes. Anyone have an example??

It's not really a tax increase, it's a repeal of a tax cut. It sounds the same, but it's different.

It's not even the repeal of a tax cut. The Bush tax cuts when they were enacted, were specifically written to expire after a certain number of years, and so the law as it was originally written is simply taking effect.

I hadn't heard about this "boss email" until now, but it seems to make sense to me. Why is everyone saying it's not true or doesn't make sense? Can someone please explain this in some sort of unbiased manner and without any "lol ur dumb" comments? :/

If you don't get it, just vote Rebuplican. Your boss will appreciate it.

I love the notion that if a business owner is taxed less, that money will be used to make more jobs. We had a booming economy over the past 8 years amidst large rounds of corporate layoffs with CEOs sitting on each other's boards granting each other 70 million dollar bonuses for cutting costs. Yup, that stimulates the economy; people with too much money hoarding it all because they want to feel more important than their fellow man.

That's what the mega corps do. The small businesses in this country employe a lot more people than the mega companies, and in a world where you can go down the hall and drink coffee with the owner of the company, they are going to look after their employee's first. The mega corporation Execs don't give a damn about their employees or what affects actions have on them. their sole job is to make sure the stock price goes up 2 cents, nothing else. That's why they don't care if they outsource jobs or cut jobs.

I really don't think they can see the real damage they are doing because all they think about is their salary. With so many people getting laid off, the demand for products is going to go down. The demand keeps going down the companies need to cut costs more, thus more jobs. Eventually everyone is going to be out of work. All because a flawed system makes people think that a company should earn more profit year after year. I believe a company should earn a profit, but chasing the maximum profit at the cost of destroying lives is not the way to go about things.

the mess we are in now can all be attributed to one thing. Greed. The system was made to make money out of nothing in so many ways that we finally hit a spot where we started to realize, that the math was wrong and there is not as much money as we thought.

It would be difficult to explain it to you in an unbiased manner as I think everyone is either on one side or the other on Obama's tax plan. This Boss Email is obviously trying to illustrate how that plan would effect someone who has worked hard for what they have, only to be taxed excessively and have some of that taken away to give to those who haven't worked hard and/or made poor financial decisions. It makes sense to me as well in that respect.

P&N's political compass points west so you have to take into consideration that anything posted against Democratic, Liberalism, or Obama will for the most part be met with petty name calling, flaming or just general knee jerk posts.

I assume you agree that his employees should be thankful for the Bush tax cuts that allowed them to keep a job as well?

I mean, if the business owner can just be thankful for the opportunity and close up shop when that opportunity is removed, the employees should be thankful to Bush right?

Or does the boss owe the employees a job now?

Sure, it's a dishonest representation of the two opposing sides, reliant upon a fictional character of virtue, and a fictional character of sloth on the other side. It relies upon the absurd notion that taxes on businesses directly relate to jobs. (guess what the tax rate was on those making over $200,000 in the middle of the 20th century? Jobs where plentiful)

It relies on the same tactics that most chain emails do, which is why debating points brought up in chain emails is retarded. You're far better off sending a nasty letter back to whoever sent you this stupid shit and telling them to stop sending you junk. If you sought it out yourself, well then you're retarded and got what you deserved.

Do you think the economic situation of the world today was the same as in the middle of the 20th century in a relevant way to your discussion?

Do you think the job market and demographic is the same as well?

Your point is only valid if all the effects and causes of that economic situation remain the same, if not than you are comparing apples to oranges.

Do you think the boss "owes" the employees there jobs?

Uhmm, no.

The economic situation in the world does not need to be identical, nor do the demographics of America need to be identical for my point to be valid. Only the relationship between taxation and job creation needs to be the same. I see no evidence for why it's not.

Someone help me out here... the current economic situation was caused by a 'political hurricane' of tax increases that haven't even occurred yet? 😕

Yeah, about a year ago all the businesses got together and decided that Obama was going to turn our country into a Socialist utopia by giving working-class people an outrageous $400/yr tax credit (sounds like the expansion of EITC that the pinko son-of-a-b*tch Reagan made in 86, calling the earned income tax credit ?the best anti-poverty, the best pro-family, the best job-creation measure to come out of Congress.") and raising the top marginal income tax by reducing deductions, letting the Bush cuts expire, and increasing the taxes on income earned without labor. In their wisdom, the business leaders decided to institute pre-emptive layoffs employing a Bush Doctrine-like strategy. The workers are the enemy, after all.

Marx called, and he wants his class warfare back, you suck at it.

He didn't call he's on the phone with BHO planning what's next. 😉

Sure the guy is a jerk at the end but taxing the guy to death is just that it kills the drive to make more.

Funny thing is a Mexican that works for me told me a similar story but it was that he couldn't start a bakery in Mexico due to all the blood money he would have to pay to be safe from the cops or the mobsters. If he made money some one would take it. Why even bother?? So guess what that producer went to a different county too. This one.

If there is no incentive to produce why bother. Academics in the BHO administration don't understand they live in worlds of theory not bottom lines they never headed up businesses they just stratigize how to take from those who could produce.

Sorry Cad this crowd rather be told what to do and what to produce than earn it. It's not because they aint smart. It's because they just know they cannot be wrong.

On the right, there are the Rush Limbaugh brigades. The only thing more scary than Obama?s experiment is the thought that it might fail and the political power will swing over to a Republican Party that is currently unfit to wield it." -- David Brooks, March 3, 2009

So true heh.

Good time for a third moderate party to emerge?

great another neocon party no thanks.

we need a 3rd party not connected to business that is truly fiscally conservative that is looking out for America FIRST and its self interest second. Hard though Americans are not Fiscally conservative anymore. We are addicted to credit.

Oh right cause business is the bad guy and we would all do good farming.

I'm sure you can move to North Vietnam for your utopia. 🙂
