Heh - i make 35k a year at a job I did not need my collage degree for, work about 45 hours a week, sleep about 7per night, and just started my 401k

Wait.....i mean I make 98k a year - but I will be getting a promotion soon that will make that 105k - I work 20 hours a week and sleep 5 hours a week. My 401k is worth more than yours and I have a super hot wife who is a sex maniac

bah, who cares how much you put aside. You don't have it if you don't USE it.

 that doesn't make sense...

if you don't use it, you certainly do have it...if you do spend it, you certainly don't have it anymore.

That pretty much describes me, except I'd like to get more sleep. 6 hours a night is wearing me out.

Retirement: None (but the wife has quite a bit, I'm sure she'll divorce me when that's ready to be spent)
Credit Score: 670 (I'm bad about one of my bills)
Live paycheck to paycheck: Yep, new homeowner
Disposable income: A lot, I love my toys, 1200 DVDs and counting
Hours worked per week: 35-40
Hours of sleep needed: 6, in bed at 11:30, up at 5:30, even on weekends. unless I get up at 4 to watch some sporting event in Europe.

Salary
minimum of 80k - I'd put the average at $60k, but there are quite a few regs making under $30k.

Retirement
At least 15% in 401k and another 10% in other investments - No. Most save in 401(k) what their companies match, which is 3 to 5% and save 5 to 10% elsewhere.

Credit Score
At least 750 - No, I say 640 to 730 is the bulk of the range.

Live paycheck to paycheck? I would say 50% or more live paycheck to paycheck.

No, at least 6 months of disposable income saved at any time - That is the advice they give others (3 to 6 months emergency fund), but maybe only 10% have it.

When I started posting on ATOT, I was making $8.50 an hour, had no savings and sometimes even had a hard time making it paycheck to paycheck, and had a credit score of around 550.
Now I'm more in line with what Safeway posted (except that I do have a few month of emergency funds, so obviously not paycheck to paycheck).

And I have a twelve inch pianist (damned hard of hearing genies!)

1: Nope, but I'll hit 100k when I'm 25 or a bit after. Should be before I'm 26. No big deal, everyone gets about that for what we do. If I was in my last line of job I wouldn't have a hope in hell of making 100k this early on, and probably never...I got very lucky getting my job.

2: No retirement but I invest and save £££.

3: Not sure on Credit Score as I'm in England. Should be alright.

4: Nope

5: I had about 18months salary saved up. I don't spend much £££ and living at home currently. Just bought my own place so I have only a few k's left.

My hobbies are cheap and I also work a part time job and take time off work to work a summer camp job (p!ss poor pay, but it is fun and I save because I'm not spending a few k's on holiday but earning a little).

I spend very little and I live at home currently. I spend all of my time training 8-10 sessions a week 15-18hrs every week. I work 40-45-48hrs a week including my part time job.

Besides financial status, you also forgot anti-religion and anti-gun control. Maybe anti-Bush on top of that..

Bah technicalities.

It's real simple. You make money to spend it. Have a nice house ? Then you "have it". Have a crappy house ? I don't care how much money you have in the bank, it's useless there. Enjoy your earnings.

Don't hoard it and say you'll spend it when you're 50, balding, and/or wrinkly.

I respect finance people for their wisdom on how to generate more money... but the other side of it is that some/most of them hoard it too. Really... what's the point ?
