Well I guess that's a little better... although you may like the new Fel Armor as it gives you 30% mana regen while casting and removes the +healing in lieu of a +damage from spirit (better start stacking that spirit lol).

badges of justice... not going to be redeemable for new wotlk gear is it? No reason to save up like I'd save up honor?

Here's todays snipping of wrath info. Formatting may be a bit fubar since I'm not on a pc.

Wrath of the Lich King to be Released in 2008
Shacknews reported that according to Mike Morhaime (Blizzard Entertainment's CEO), Wrath of the Lich King will be released between October and December 2008.
"We have said that it will be coming out this year," Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime revealed in a conference call today. "I can tell you it's not coming in the July to September quarter."
As for the Wrath of the Lich King beta, Morhaime noted that "testing is going very well." During the call, Morhaime also mentioned that 40% of the World of Warcraft subscribers that left for Age of Conan have since returned.

Badge of Justices / Arena & Honor Points in WotLK
[*]The current Badges of Justice should still be obtainable via level 70 heroic dungeons after Wrath of the Lich King launches but only used for level 70 gear. We currently plan to continue with a badge type of system, but new ones will drop in Wrath of the Lich King. (Source)[*]We talked about this a bit in the last episode of BlizzCast, like how we plan to expand on the system and possibly have different tiers of badges and such, so this can't come as a big surprise that you can't stack up 800 Badges of Justice and buy level 80 gear right away. (Source)[*]We are still working out the details on how we want to handle honor/arena points, we'll have more details soon enough though. (Source)
Warrior
[*]Defense is usually a pretty easy stat to max out with gear, whereas you can't really do that on dodge. We saw some tanks actually spec out of Anticipation at the T6 or so level because it just stops being as useful as your gear improves. Hit is another stat we don't really like to hit in talent trees, since it's possible to hit the cap with gear alone. (Source)[*]The problem with the old Shield Block was it was never a choice. It was available so often, and always so useful, that you could just about put a brick on the key you use for Shield Block. We're trying to get Shield Block to feel more like a mini-Shield Wall. Use it when Something Bad is about to happen. We're not trying to nerf it -- we're trying to make it more fun. (Source)[*]We have to be careful with this talent (Stalwart Protector) because prot warriors are going to generate a lot more rage than before, just because their dps is going to be higher. A lot of tanking gear comes with strength now. Strength is a good stat, and even before the shield block change, it was probably the best +threat stat you have. I sort of feel that for too long we have all emphasized mitigation as the primary role of a tank, when in reality it's only half the job. Doing more dps will let tanks be more fun when not-tanking, and for warriors, might make a lot of rage starvation issues go away. (Source)[*]Devastate includes Sunder Armor as part of its effect. Any benefit to Sunder will apply. (Source)
Mage
[*]Changing Mana Shield - We're talking about it... (Source)[*]Living Bomb - We've considered giving it a knock back or *ahem* "knock up" but we felt that probably wouldn't be desired for what Living Bomb is made for. It works for Thunderstorm (Elemental Shaman Talent) because Shaman's aren't an AOE class, and because it's cooldown controlled. I don't think we're done yet with Living Bomb, just not completely sure with what we want with it yet. (Source)[*]We nuked Shatter Shield and put it into a talent instead (as you've noticed). The new Mage ability has yet to be unveiled... (Source)
Paladin
[*]Like I promised, the paladin changes were more sweeping than most changes. As such, it's going to take us some time to go through a second pass on the abilities and get everything polished up enough to evaluate the shiny, new paladin. I expect we'll be a lot more active on this forum when that happens. (Source)[*]Beacon of Light - We're working on tweaking this spell a bit to make it fit the Paladin's "kit" a bit more... look for the change in an upcoming build. (Source)
Priest
[*]We're actually doing Priest glyphs now, get your ideas in before it's too late!! (Source)[*]Aggro Generation of Aegis / Shields - I am concerned about this, and will make sure it's not too much of a problem. If it is, we can always do a glyph or talent that causes the target to regen rage/runic power etc. when they absorb damage through your spells. That will be a last resort, however. (Source)[*]If you've noticed a lot of the ranks have similar mana costs, though I do agree Mind Sear's mana cost seems particularly high... I've been assured that the mana costs for the new ranks of spells and for the new spells are accurate in relation to the mana pools players will have with the new itemization. We'll make sure the mana cost isn't offensive when we do some internal raid testing in the coming weeks. We also made the ability not work on the primary target because we didn't want Mind Sear to be used as a ghetto Mind Flay and because we found it was annoying when the target you were casting Mind Sear on died, causing you to re-cast it. (Source)
Hunter
[*]The devilsaur is an exotic pet that will ultimately require 51-BM to tame. There are several other exotic pets that are not implemented yet. (The moth is not an exotic pet.) The size of the devilsaur is not a bug, but I also can't promise it's going to stay that way. It would be awesome if it did, but only if it doesn't cause a bunch of other problems, like clipping through terrain and making it impossible to see mailboxes in Dalaran. (Source)

Living Bomb is a horrible talent and really needs to be changed or simply removed for something decent.

The only decent aspect about the new Shield Block is that it can be used for threat with Shield Slam, but even then... it's a huge nerf to warrior uncrushability.

Hit may be possible to cap with a tree, but not all classes... not to mention, it provides assistance to classes earlier on in their raiding careers. As long as there's another viable way to progress through a tree, I don't see what harm having +defense or +hit in a tree has... unless they're going to replace it with something worthwhile. Also, most Shaman gear at my Shaman's level does not have +hit on it or has very little. I would still be cap'd without Nature's Grace (which is being removed in wotlk) as I still try to have a decent amount of +hit (100 to 120 hit rating) over the yellow cap also the only reason a Shaman could easily hit the damn cap is because they're forced to use Rogue gear since mail gear isn't as good.

EDIT:

I'm also kind of having trouble finding things to use my badges on for my mage. I could just buy the Icon (or be cheap and wait until Brewfest... about 2 months away) and I'm not a huge fan of some of the badge gear... I could probably use them if I completely redesigned my gear, but right now they don't really provide any benefit over my current gear other than copious amounts of spell hit (which I'm already over-capped) or tons of spell crit... which I have about 31% fire crit self-buffed anyway. Maybe I'll just pick up the Icon and then save badges and eventually build up a set via badges that's designed from the ground up.

I hope they don't change honor points too much since right now you can get those at lower lvl and saved for higher lvl if you so choose. Not sure about arena points. Since wolk will be release in 3 - 5 months, I plans to start to save honor points for the new pvp gears on some of my toons. :p

Woot! I snagged an extra unused Blizzcon card from a friend of mine that went! I used the beta code yesterday and got the murloc suit too :D

How long should I have to wait before I get my real beta? I downloaded it already but I can't make my account yet :(

When you get into beta, send me a PM with your character's name and I will add you to my friend's list. It requires you to rename the character that you copy, but as long as your character's name is not currently in use then you can keep the original name. I am on the PvE server only though. It is called Northrend.

Leveling is slower, but it is by no means too slow. Just to give everyone a very basic idea, there are approximately 140 quests in Howling Fjord which includes all of the really little ones like talk to one guy and complete the quest by talking to the guy next to him. The quests which actually have you go out and do something give 20k in XP on average. Each mob in the low level instances will get you about 1.2k XP each (not rested). After completing all of the quests in Howling Fjord and doing approximately 9 instance runs of various difficulty I was level 72 and had about 30% more to go until I hit 73. Borean Tundra is supposed to have at least as many quests as Howling Fjord and I just started on those last night which got me to 73.

These two areas are only the starting zones. One does not need to do both starting zones in order to progress to the next step up in zones which is pretty much your choice between Dragonblight and Grizzly Hills. One does not even need to fully complete just one of the starting zones to progress either as long as your gear is at a minimum of T5 quality and you are decently skillful. You need to complete most of one though so that you hit 71 and are well on your way to 72.

It's nice because the way that Blizz handled it is by giving the players many choices. It will not be like TBC where EVERYONE started in Hellfire followed by Zangarmarsh, Terokkar and so on.

so someone could do all the quests in Howling Fjord and be aprox lvl 72.5 thats not bad 2+ lvls per zone, thats about what Hellfire was 60-62 eaisily

ill prob be up to my old trix then and do all of Howling Fjord to 72+ and then all of Borean Tundra to get to 74 or so before moving on to the next zone save as many zones/quests for 80 and just rake in the cash

should be pretty easy as ill most likely go into Wrath in full best in slot endgame raid gear

This is what I am doing and I recommend it for one major reason amongst many. The lore.

There is a ton of excellent lore involving Arthas, the Scourge, the Titans, etc combine within both zones. That lore continues as your progress through the higher level zones. However, if you skip either Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra then you are going to miss a few really cool things. In particular, Howling Fjord is all about the Titans and Giants with some hints of Arthas while Borean Tundra has more to do with Arthas, the Scourge, and a little about Death Knights too. So, if you are a player that really enjoys the story then I highly recommend doing both zones and reading all of the quests because it is well worth it more so than ever before in WoW. Which zone you choose to do first doesn't matter so much though. I can say that I managed to solo every single group quest in Howling Fjord using a few tricks with my class while I have already run into one group quest Borean Tundra where there was no way I could have pulled it off so for those who like to solo a lot at first, HF might be the better way to begin. I cannot say for sure though since I have only gotten a taste of Borean Tundra so far.

What will happen to arenas/BGs in WOTLK?

Are they changing up world PVP?

Will they be doing pvp gear like Area Season 1-2-3-4?

Will they be keeping 'tier' gear for the upcoming expansion?

My mage has 500 resil, rogue has 350...it will be a bummer when they are WORTHLESS! hahaha

I really do not know any of the answers to these questions other than there is supposed to be a new BG and there is going to be the new world PvP zone in Northrend. I have also run across a PvP zone in Grizzly Hills near the lighthouse, but that's about it. Nothing was happening in it at the time. I really don't do any PvP.

I am not having any issues opening the thread. It loads just as fast as a thread with only one full page.

wow, this is all pretty exciting. Are you gaining rep as you lvl? I kind of screwed myself in TBC because I didn't do the questing/instances in the most efficient way when talking about rep and caused me a lot of headaches later to get to exaulted (which I am with only like 4 factions).

But I think I will do every quest in order and try to skip the least amount. I just dont know if raiding is worth it now, maybe I'll just try to level my druid to 70 for the expansion.

I meant, how does it look visually? Improved Graphics? I remember from the origonal wow, to BC, they improved , id say... 25-30% visually.
