That is very true. On top of that, almost all of the players in beta are A+ when it comes to skill. The ease of finding a top rate PUG in beta is like a gift from the divine since just about everyone in it right now was either preselected for Alpha testing or were into the game enough to attend BlizzCon 07. It's very nice. That will be the one thing I will miss when beta ends.

I was looking at Death Knight talents again and they really make me want to play one :(. They look like they're such a balanced class where almost any tree has a viability in PVE or PVP. Also, I thought DKs were only going to wield a two-hander, but the talent in Frost mentions one-hand and off-hand. I'd have to look at their skills, but I believe most are based somewhat on weapon damage (although there are modifiers for things like under the influence of disease(s) etc).

What looks pretty crazy to me is that Parry talent in Blood that grants you 25 parry rating +25% of your strength in parry rating with 5/5 points... my god man, with a mere 400 strength, that's 125 parry rating!

Hey xavier what is addon you use? like the action bar i think is the default, what about the buff timer on top right and the portraits of yourself & the group?

Per the picture you're the resto druid? dont you use any addon for healing? i am a holy pally and i use grid and clique (or click not sure how it is spelled) for healing and that thing clutters most of my screen and in the end i only see boxes the whole raid & i dont get to enjoy the fight and environment as much as i like to do.

I just rolled a new druid on the server my guild transferred to, so I'd be interested in that as well Xavier.

Very few addons currently work on the beta servers due to the drastic changes to the UI code so what you are seeing in the pics is the UI without any addons.

On the live servers, I use the following plus a few more that I don't remember:

1. Pitbull for unit frames.
2. Ora2
3. Deadly Boss Mods
4. Titan Panel
5. Outfitter
6. Itemrack
7. Atlas
8. Auctioneer Advanced
9. Gatherer

I have considered using Grid as well, but I keep deciding not to do it for various reasons. Since just about every spell I use is instant cast, the info Grid sends to other players that use Grid is useless. The only reason it attracts me is so that I can see all of the DoTs and Debuffs which I do not get to normally see by just using Pitbull, but so far that has not effected me very much. That plus I really do not like the cosmetic look of Grid even though I realize it is quite popular. Perhaps it can be customized to my liking but I haven't tried yet.

One thing that I really do not like about Grid is that it is too minimal cosmetically which I realize a lot of raiders enjoy. I prefer my UI to be more graphical because it is pretty to look at and I enjoy myself more while using it. I just wish Pitbull allowed me to view all of the debuffs and DoTs like Grid does. Besides that, it does everything else.

Only thing I don't like about pitbull is how it has this static maximum size of a frame. For example, I like putting my portrait on top and making it kinda large, so it's a rectangular portrait and it only shows like the eyes and mouth... looks kinda cool. But if I want to say... add a HP bar, Mana bar and Experience bar.. I'm screwed. I can only get 2 of them in before it looks like a jumbled mess of text. In other words, it tries to cram it all in there instead of simply extending the frame.

Are you sure you took advantage of all the current customization options? I have never had problems controlling what you are trying to control before with Pitbull. I set mine up where the sizes of all bars, portraits, and text are completely customized in terms of both format and size.

Did some reading on the beta forms earlier. Looks like a major DK update should be coming soon as they are closer to lokking down which spells/talents to keep.

Also read more about the deeds, er achievements. Seems like they won't be giving any permanent abilities with them other than titles and non-useable achievement points. Some of them are pretty wacky like having 10 of each: vanity pets, mounts, and tabards. There is also a lot of I killed X, which should see some groups heading back through MC, BWL and such after everyone hits 80 to get them activated. There will also be ones called feats of strength that are a difficult to achieve type and the first to reach level 80 on each server (by class I believe) will be one along with ringing the AQ gong and some other ones.

It looks like the regular ones will always be visible so you can work on them, the "strenght" ones are hidden until completed so those that can't get them aren't made upset. And yes, that's pretty much how a blizz rep said it.

Did Mag on my mage yesterday... but not before a "wonderful" Magister's Terrace run. I originally signed up on my Shaman in LFG and I got accepted to a group fairly quickly. I probably should've realized how terribad this group would be as they kept going on and on about my Windfury totem . It turns out, that this group didn't even have a real tank... the group was 2 fury warriors, 1 rogue and a paladin. On the pull before Kael, the one warrior was all "sry lost agroo" and I just thought to myself, "no... you never HAD aggro" After three deaths costing 3g a pop, I left... I'm not wasting my time with idiots. Worst off... those putas delayed my dinner!

So I went to Mags shortly after that. Didn't do as well as I would've wanted, but I'm not sure where the DPS meter that was posted started from as I wasn't there for some of the trash (which hopefully they don't count anyway). I also used no consumables or weapon thingies 'cause I kinda forgot to use them :p. They also told us to stop DPS at 35% and I just watched my Fire Vulnerability tick off the boss :(. I should've been defiant and threw a rank 1 scorch in retrospect. But after the fact, I was 8th on damage (ick) with 850 DPS (wasn't the lowest). Probably also would've been better if I would've remember to put up my armor before the fight  (was trying to finish the dinner that the Magister's group made me halt!)

The reason why they asked you to stop at 35% is because at 30% he makes the ceiling collapse on the raid which does a lot of damage. The healers need time to cap everyone before that occurs. Although, 35% seems a bit excessive. When we were learning, we had everyone stop at about 32%.

Oh I know why they did it... I read up on the fight before we even started, but I still should've thrown a scorch out there as keeping up fire vulnerability is one of me jobs and even if I used max rank and it crit... that's only about 1.8k damage including ignite. If it were a rank 1 scorch, it may've been 200 damage at the most and that would've kept the +15% for the last 30% up rather than me having to reapply it. As for the difference in damage (which was only 8% versus my 6%), other groups may've had more buffs such as shammy totems and such. Some priest gave me Power Infusion at one point, which was kinda fun :D. I actually had to mana up quite a bit during the fight... I evocated after the last summoner guy and I think I used 2 charges on my mana gem and 2 mana pots? I have a ton of mana pots so it's no biggie for me :p.

EDIT:

I also decided that I should get the S2 crossbow on my hunter as it's a huge upgrade and I tend to keep the AV daily on all of my characters regardless of if I plan on using it on the day it comes out. So I decided to actually start doing them on him and since that day wasn't an AV daily (yesterday was EotS), I better do it then. Well, I went in AV and then realized... I hadn't played the character in months, but I just recalled that he only had a few bullets left on him. A few, in this case, is equivalent to 13... thirteen bullets. So yeah, I was pretty much worthless that AV, but the next one I was top in KBs. I don't know why, but people seem to have a harder time realizing that I'm hiding behind the ridge by SPGY on my hunter where my mage can only do that for about 10 seconds before someone realizes it. I guess the huge ball of fire going through the air is too obvious .

That's a good point about the gear. I forgot how much that added stam really goes a long way. My guild is bipolar like that too btw.

Don't feel bad.. we wiped multiple times on Brut and Twins on Tuesday, then proceeded to wipe for 5 hours straight on Muru last night. I think people are starting to get a little burnt out and stir-crazy for WotLK

Xavier did you only get one key? I'm open to purchasing one (from anyone really) if that's acceptable by forum standards :p

Well we finally killed Brut again last night. We used a new strategy, we stacked stam instead of dodge and stuck an affliction warlock in the group. The added damage reduction and huge HP boost made tank healing almost trivial compared to our previous method, and we killed him on the third attempt (first attempt was a mispull, 2nd attempt multiple people died to slash due to mispositioning). Hopefully we'll be able to kill him quickly next week, and have enough priests around this weekend to try felmyst.

Some revised wotlk notes are on the eu wow beta forum, can get a link through mmochamps. Other than the locks changes mentioned earlier, pallies and mages have the most done.

I'm not entirely sure what they meant in their sentnece about stacking, but mages mana gems no longer go away after logging out. Wonder if they will do they same thing to healthstones.

Did they finally make living bomb somewhat, kind of, maybe a little bit worthwhile?

somewhat supprised no one mentioned it here yet, IMO the changes to potions is fucking retarted, only 1 pot per combat
same with making healthstones unique,no longer can you have 1 of each kind, its 1 HS period
