I'd say this is your biggest problem. Going from fielding 3 25 mans a week all of a sudden fielding 5. I'd say everybody still wants to only do 3 raids, but everybody will show up on different nights. Also problems with burnout playing wow so many nights out of the week. There are also probably problems with doign so many different instances. These really show to me bad leadership thats trying too hard to play catchup and go srs raiding guild with members that don't want that.

drop mag and do it on off days, concentrait on Hyjal and id alternate SSC/TK depending on what you can kill, if you can clear both in 1 raid night thats awsome if not do SSC 1 week for 2 days and then do TK the next for 2 days

FWIW you raid more days then we do. we do Tues (Sunwell) Wed (Sunwell), Sunday(Sunwell) Monday (LOL BT)

thursdays some people alt pug Mag/grull and do ZA whenever

So do you guys think they'll be releasing the next in the vet/vind line with S4?

Trying to decide whether to save honour til then or spend it on Vindicator's gear

Yes they are releasing new honor gear along with S4 gear. However some of the pieces will have rating requirements to obtain (yes arena requirements on honor gear). The boots and rings have the highest requirements to wear. Such that if youre in the boat of saving honor up to buy the pvp gear you won't have the S4 rating to wear them for a bit. As such buy those pieces of s3 type gear (boots and ring).

Take a look at the pvp wow forums, blue has a post on there about the new s4 gear.

Save honor and find a druid partner, you will get to 1600 to pick up the rest of the non-glad gear in no time

By the way, I've found that psychologically it is better to just have raid days and decide once people are online where you're going to go. Don't say anything ahead of time because then you have people who may avoid logging in just because they know if you head to SSC/TK instead of Mag they might have a repair bill...

I will but i'm at work right now...
so the merc stuff will be honour points, the vindicator type gear, boots/belt/rings/bracer, will require not honour but arena points?

Thanks!! Very good info, you too dangerer, i'll work on finding that druid partner. Most of my 11k kills are in BGs and world pvp so arena will take some getting used to I think. less room for mistakes.

I agree but for a different reason. I am a big fan of using time wisely when it comes to raiding and the limitation of 2 nights per week has taught me to pay attention to detail in that area. The problem with announcing what you will be raiding before hand is that it may not be the best use of your time to stick to that commitment depending on attendance. You never know when only 2-3 tanks are going to show up which is obviously unacceptable if you are still learning how to kill Mag. It would be more productive to go to SSC on a night like that. By not announcing where you will be raiding until after the raid is formed, you rid yourself of the potential problem involving backing down on a commitment and disappointing those who showed up. Not being able to follow through with a schedule is a bad reflection of leadership despite whether it is the leader's fault or not. The end result if it happens too often can be lower morale amongst the team. It's best to just avoid the issue entirely especially since announcing what you will be doing beforehand really adds no benefit anyways.

Think I confused you about the honor purchases.

The gear you buy from PvP vendors in either SW or Org is purchased solely with honor points and pvp tokens. This includes the belt, bracer, ring, and boots. The new type of honor gear they are adding along with S4 is still purchased with honor, but has a rating requirement from the arenas. You do not spend arena points to purchase them, simply have to have your personal/team rating to the required level to purchase the item.

When you get a chance go look at the wow pvp forums, blue does a good job of explaining it and they list the required ratings. For me I cannot access ANY type of gaming website on the entire internet, not even my guilds webpage/forums...but I can access the wow forums. So try typing in

forums.worldofwarcraf.com

Oh and shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anybody here...

but wont S2 gear (merc, which is currently for arena points) going to be replacing the S1 gear when S4 is released - so you will technically be able to buy S2 gear, at S1 honor prices?

My mage has around 10 (from random crap) and has no plans for them... won't ever make his alchemist's stone (sry, 2lazy2farmrep), so I might as well just sell 'em.

But it can't be used for all fights..and it requires the rogue to have a special group setup and the boss needs debuffed at all times (Scorpid sting etc).

Coming from a Prot Warrior, I find it kind of annoying but meh :D

Reminds me of those times when I'd tank bosses on my rogue back.. but of course I wasn't unhittable .

Anyone know if they are changing the badge-for-honor-gear or tier-token-for-arena-gear trades? E.g. when S4 starts can you turn in a t4 token for S2, or a T6 token for S3? Also, will you be able to buy vindicator items with badges, and how much will they cost compared to veteran pieces now?

On an unrelated note, my guild is finally making progress on Kalecgos. After much officer bitching, we convinced the GM to try to down the boss again after gearing up all the new people we had to recruit (he just wanted to farm SWP trash and not waste time on Kalec attempts for some reason. I think he lost faith in the competency of the guild or something.) We got the dragon down to 1% with the demon at 3% on one attempt, and several attempts with both under 15% or so. I think we'll get him tonight.

farming the trash isnt a bad idea, especially seeing as we have been killing at least Kalec since week 1 and have seen a grand total of 4 trash drops in what 3 months? only 1 of which was a pattern that no one wanted

Farming trash gets boring though and can easily lower morale and self confidence in the guild considering why they were farming it. His GM made a bad decision. I'm glad the officers fixed it.

Yay, we downed kalec finally, after several attempts. On the kill, we lost all three tanks soon after the enrage, but the dps managed to come through. We had I think 23 people up when the enrage started, and 6 or 7 when the boss died. It was almost as epic as our first RoS kill, where literally everyone died but the last survivor was a warlock that had a dot on that killed the boss at the same instant he died, hehe. I got my bracers, we had 1 of each token drop and the plate healing pants.

Hopefully, Brutallis won't take us too long to kill, seeing as how we've been farming BT so long and our dps is well-geared. Our guild has always had more trouble with the coordination fights like Vashj, but we've usually quickly learned and killed more straight-forward dps kills like Mother, Shade, etc.

Since January.

I know what you mean about the hex shrunken head, I've only seen it drop once in like 40 runs (but luckily I got it on my mage, hehe).

Help... I don't feel the urge to play anymore. :D

Wife is extremely preggo, I do all the housework including take care of her while she's on bedrest, and I'll probably take care of the twins when they come. I don't feel like raiding anymore because being on sporadically doesn't get me anywhere gear-wise. I'd be playing here and there for the fun of it but what' would I be aiming for? Gear. For... progression... same deal. I don't want to feel this way, but that's the way it is right now. Case in point - what I've been doing last couple days? AV for honor to get the S2 dagger for my lock (upgrading from S1 staff) for PVE raiding. Sad isn't it?

OR I can res-cap my lock by AVing all day to fill 3 more slots with higher res gear. Then I probably won't BG anymore. Arenas blow. Seems I'm just biding my time till WotLK, doesn't it?

I'm wondering how much I can sell my account for... T4 70s - resto drood, combat rogue, aff lock. Maybe it will pay for all my subscription money these couple years. ;)

End game is all about getting the gear, running dailies / quests, and pvpng [for gear].

You sound like you're in a similar boat that I've been riding for the past few years. I play on an EST server and unless the wife/kid are away, I spend most of my play time in pugs for badge runs, running dailies, or in the bg's to get the epic gear because I can't commit to being in the guild raids [due to the time difference]. Yeah - I could switch servers, but I've known these guildies for a long time...
