I don't think they added it at all... they actually fixed it. I did something a few times that actually caused the broom to have a 3 second cast time, which shows that something was amiss. I just can't recall what I did that caused the broom to require a cast... I think it usually happened when I came out of Scryer bank in Shatt.

Noticed the calendar now has a 1201 am WOTLK launch event in it. Assuming that's for the sales release as the servers will still have to go down at some point to enable the access to northrend transports?

I'm actually very surprised they didn't do this with the 3.0.3 patch. If not, they'll probably enable them the Tuesday before. When TBC was coming out, the boats were in place when 2.0.1 came out.

Also the new to-70 leveling in nice. On my first char I hit outland at 61 and made 62 doing the welcome type quest. I always parked him at the end of the day to get rest, and he had a decent amount to go a bit during the weekdays for that night, but not so much on weekends. My first two alts have crossed the 60 barrier (they are a good bit higher than the others as I did level them abit to ~35 without much regard to saving rest to work on their professions as they were the most bag intensive ones) and it looks like i'll hit outland now at or about to ding 64. it might be nice to get some of the initial outland gear for these guys, but they already have some mid to upper 60's greens bagged from my lock doing the dailies, and the old country isn't nearly as tough when you're using talents now designed for L80 in a L60 zone.

I'm having a tough time finishing my druid, because it's simply so boring =\. He's 67.5 and I'm having more fun playing other characters. Maybe I need to get something like the trees or typhoon to make it more fun ( spamming wrath isn't much fun :p ).

The servers should already have the transports to northrend open. That is the point of 3.0 patches now, so they don't have to patch on the day of release. You will still have to install the patches over as wotlk discs won't have that information on them, so don't delete any of the 3.0 patches till after you install wrath. The servers however are all ready to go, you just need to upgrade your account to wotlk to access the transports.

Bah, who deletes patches? I still have 1.05 on my server under F:\Downloads\Games\Patches\World of Warcraft\ :p

How much stuff are you casting though? I mean if you're using Consecration every pull... you're going to go OOM.

my little brother said he still is owning face as ret.

I also have a mage, but I absolutely think they are nerfed still...what is/will be the best tree for pvp as a mage?

I was in a raid with a boomkin and he was doing some decent damage. I didn't look to see what level of gear he had though. I believe he was 3rd or 4th below myself and the rogue. He did seem to have a weird rotation though as he mentioned Starfire a bunch of times and I was pretty sure most Boomkins spam wrath (unless I'm mistaken). Are they using Moonfire + Starfire now (with the Starfire glyph)? Mostly since Moonfire ups the crit rate on Starfire via talents.

Not casting much at all. Just using spam hammer/holy shield/avenger's shield/judgment for the most part. The problem is that pallies are just not made to sit there and do white damage unless it's just generally accepted that we want to sit there for 30 seconds an encounter. If that's the case I'll just go back to the rogue or lock. :p

i agree. i fired up my prot pally last night to do dailies, and i was running out of mana waaayyy faster than usual. it was simply ridiculous. if they don't get this 'fixed' before WOTLK i might respec back to ret for leveling and questing purposes, although i really enjoy tanking instances with my buddies =(

the greatest thing they could do is drop the dual spec functionality. we can only hope :)

I'm actually ok with dual spec but I wanted it to be implemented differently. One for PvE and one for PvP (bgs/arena).

there is no aff rotation, NONE and there never will be, you simply put up your dots, shadowbolt/lifetap inbetween refreshing dots

its whack-a-mole with dot timers

as for chest depends on what your crit currently is,

Wrong. You always want to cast cast time DoTs (when possible) followed by instant cast DoTs to minimize GCD.

umm no shit but that is not a rotation, its still whackamole with duh cast time casts-instant right after

That's still a rotation. DoTs don't randomly fall off unless you've reached the debuff cap.

are you using blessing of sanctuary? cause if not that could be a reason for your mana issues. I regularly run with a prot palladin, and he has noticed a less than 2% change in his dps from the ret nerf, and he still never runs out of mana. And by never runs out i mean NEVER as long as he remembers to refresh sanctuary he always has mana.

I just changed it up a bit last night and don't have quite the mana problems I used to. It's just a whole lot slower than it was before the patch and that is going to be painful in a week. Part of the problem is probably my gear so take that with a grain of salt.

Speaking of gear, we were screwing around in BT last night and the Swiftsteel Bludgeon dropped. This is a sweet PvE leveling upgrade from King's Defender.

i use icehud

awesome... completely customizable so I can see the combo points as bars instead of numbers. One thing I can't figure out though is how to get the hud to go away completely when not in combat.

I have been playing Wow since Nov 27,2004 and I still enjoy it but i play at a much more casual level now.

Here are my toons all on Ravenquest:

Risin-Level 70 High end game raiding holy priest lost 3 years of my life due to hardcore raiding :) I found out healing in high End raiding was more like a job then fun. VERY stressful.

http://www.wowarmory.com/chara...l?r=Ravencrest&n=Risin

Ausm- level 70 Dranaei MS Warrior -nothing special here just made him to practice DPS'ing.

Drainsoul-Level 56 Warlock- Working on this toon to eventually join a casual raiding guild.

icehud was my favorite when I played my rogue.

I haven't used it in awhile, but I remember there being an option to modify the alpha of the bar depending on your combat state and health. (eg: health at < 100% and out of combat, the bars would be at 50% alpha. Out of combat + 100% health and they'd disappear)

The combo point counter was my favorite though. Simple, easy to read and non-obstructive.

I decided to grind Sporeggar rep last night because I was sitting at 24 exalted factions and wanted a 25th for the achievement. I was kinda dreading it because I figured it would take up all of my time until when the expansion came out, or even past that.

lol @ 2.5 hour exalted rep grinds

I need to stop playing my warrior before I piss off every healer on the server . I go into normal instances now and literally do 50%+ of the damage, but jeebus, I am teh aggro stealar! In one Arcatraz run, I literally took about 10% less damage than the tank did. One fight, I just decided I was going to tank it and after pulling aggro, I threw on my sword (actually an axe) and a shield and switched to defensive stance. The fight definitely took a lot longer without me DPSing :p. I even beat a ret pally that had the Failspine (as Anubis so eloquently puts it :p). I didn't really look at his other gear though.

It's fun and I'm finally getting things done that I should've done ages ago. Now I need to see if I can get the kara key fragment from SV solo. The new Shadowmeld is pretty crazy... especially now that it starts the cooldown once you use it rather than once you leave it. So I may get a few invis pots and go in... just need to figure out which mobs can see stealth/invis. If there are any issues, I'll just bring my priest and clear the mobs.

I was pretty impressed with being able to solo Underbog as a prot warrior. You can't spell reflect The Black Stalker's chain lightning, so that fight was VERY close. But for the most part it wasn't too challenging to clear the place out.

yes good ole failspine

anyway tank threat is funny now

normally on twins in sunwell there was no way for the raid to catch up to the warlock tank in Phase 2, but whatever they did to change agro really hurt locks ability to tank it in P2 now, we have been having a prot paly tank P2 at range because they simply generate that much threat, they can literally take it as soon as P2 starts and never lose it

So is anyone planning anything cool for the WotLK release? I took Thurs and Fri off and so did a few friends of mine down here who are also guildies. We plan to LAN like mad from Wed night till about Sat morning. I haven't done that in a long time. It reminds me of college. :D

Hey Anubis, for end game WotLK, do affliction locks need to focus on spell hit, or haste? I'm mainly asking so I know which tailoring spec to take.

I dont think im going to get wotlk when its released. im guessing server crashes will be happening in the beginning. My druid got her talent points returned.... so now I have the same dilemma. Resto or Balance. I dont have nearly enough gear for feral. Is there a combo spec that I can pve level, but still main heal in instances without respec'ing?
