I've been playing for almost 4 years and just sold off my account.

Good luck to all of you in your raiding/arena efforts :)

You playing something else, or just doing the RL thing?

I want to play a good MMORPG, but Dueling for Epics smells a bit too much like Counterstrike with a monthly fee to me, and the quality of the gear is going to make PvE and battlegrounds obsolete.

I'm going to buy the expansion because I love exploring and leveling (and snow :p) but after that I might have to call it quits as well.

The whole arena thing is actually quite a bit of fun if you put together a decent group. I never got that high in it as i played with my friends so we had weird class combos that didn't work too well.

Depending on what you do or have access to, the arena gear wont be the best.

Battlegrounds stayed active as it is required you have 20/30 specific marks + honor to buy the lower tier gladiator items.

I won't be playing another mmo type game until warhammer come out. I wish i could have sold off my 3 70s to folks on anandtech.

I gave it a shot, did quite well... but it's dueling for epics. Endless deathmatches on the same 50x50 yard maps is just such an incredibly stupid and uninteresting concept... It's for the 10 year olds who sit outside Orgrimmar spamming /duel all day. It's for the group of 10 people who get lured off a flag by one enemy while a rogue slips in behind them and flips it. It's for the people who have trouble outdamaging the tank and can't kill Attumen, yet miraculously manage to pull aggro anyway, then claim PvE is stupid and scripted. Worst of all, it rewards losing.

It's for all the people who found anything more complex than deathmatches too difficult and who were too bad to get epics any other way, and its inception not quite a year ago coincides far too well with the AoC / Warhammer buzz for it to be a coincidence. Blizzard didn't want to lose the terristupids to their competitors, so they gave them free purple gear, it's really that simple and it's really that sad. It's not even close to being worth $15/month when FPS games are free after initial purchase. They're generally far more balanced as well, and if not (CS AWP), players can make their own rules.

lately, i've been getting a nasty bug where I get disconnected from wow and cannot log back in. Any attempt to log back in results in the WoW Launcher not being able to display any news. The connection screen itself hangs for a long time and if I do manage to finally connect, my ms will be in the range of 5000 when I'm in game. I can spam my guild chat with "OMFG I'M LAGGING SO BAD" for 2 seconds before getting disconnected. The weird thing is that once this happens I'll load up firefox to check out the WoW forums (worldofwarcraft.com) but it will not load at all. I don't think it's a problem at all with my internet since all other stuff loads just fine.

What's more, I add back other gear with hit to compensate (xavian stiletto thrown instead of sunfury bow that has more AP) and that hit still doesn't increase my dps. I guess it's not a hardened rule like spell hit > * ... as far as melee hit rating.

I normally always stack hit, but that is a pretty big jump in damage. I would switch out the stiletto for bosses and make sure you eat spicy hot talbuk, but put the bow back on for trash pulls.

I am rolling a hunter for uber dps and sweet PVP....hopefully I will not be sad about the decision.

So far I have got a mage, warlock, rogue up to 70...but I got bored of them all and sold the account, hopefully this will keep me enjoying it!

Back when i played a bm hunter i was pretty far up there in damage. Pretty much you get the 3:2 macro and spam it. Please don't become one of those hunters who are in full epics but only do 400 dps :)

Hunter is alright... I can't talk too much about PVP because I'm not the stereotypical BM spec, but I have defeated locks and junk as Marks. That was even when I forgot that I had Silencing Shot :p (that's what I get for not playing him in months).

should have rolled a warrior IMO

hunters are pretty much last for PVP

i've tried several times to level a hunter but I've always failed shortly after gaining the pet...it's just not my thing i guess!

I have a 60 priest on a pve server (Gilneas) and a few others in the 40s and 30s. Hunter is by far the class i have the least experience playing. Plenty of experience killing them though...they (potentially) fall hard vs my warrior.

The classes I have the toughest time with in pvp are geared paladins, priests and druids. Only geared ones though. The rest I usually crush, or they crush me depending on situation. Oh and vs good rogues it's often very close unless they lock me up, hah. Haven't had much experience fighting shaman but I do see big numbers when I smack em :)

I'm trying to decide what class alt I should make. My main is a druid right now, and I also have my old-school mage. But mages seem like they are going to be gimped even more in WotLK, just looking at all the new abilities melee classes are getting. So, what class alt should I make now, with the goal of just getting to 70 and getting some kara gear in preparation of the expansion?

I keep going through all the classes, but it seems like I already have all the gameplay aspects covered with my mage and druid already. Warriors and rogues are too similar to feral druid I think, even though either would be a good step up for pvp. Same with shamans, just another hybrid class with almost identical talent trees as a druid. Warlocks are generally better then mages for many aspects, but again their play style is so close to that of a mage that I think I would just get bored. I already have a 60 hunter on a pve server so I'm not really interested in making another one. I guess that leaves paladin or priest. Priest would be interesting, as they are one of the least played classes on my server now. I think paladin also might be fun, and they are slated to get some buffs for ret as rumor has it.

our 3v3 priest wasnt on last night so me (combat raiding rogue) and our warrior (pvp spec) went 2v2. we got our asses handed to us. 3-7 for the night. Is it just a bad combo without a healer? I need to read a serious guide on what to do in arena, im still a noob in there. I will get my S3 helm next week though.

I did combat rogue (me) with a PVP warrior and we went 6-4 I think. If my gear were better, we probably would've been 8-2 or higher. There are some combos that are really hard to beat though as a combat rogue and warrior will fall hard with groups that have great control. We lost to a frost mage + arcane mage group simply because they had damage and control. If we went up against that team again, I'd probably try and lock down the frost mage while we destroy the arcane mage and then attempt to kill the frost mage.

I think I'd have a much easier time as shadowstep though.

In general 2 dps are going to lose to two equally geared/skilled dps and healer. The big caveat here is equally geared/skilled. I 2v2 with my as a disc priest, and a ms warrior. We have had 2 dps beat us, but these are generally very well geared and experienced players just messing around in 2v2. Look at the rankings, all the top spots have a healer.

The dps goal is to lcok down the healer long enough to kill him or his partener. Also -heal poisons and MS are highly suggested of course.

When S4 is released my warrior should have enough honour for two pieces of merciless and maybe a vindicator piece if I go nuts in the BGs, so with 1 70 HW and 2 glad potentially 230 res. I'll hopefully start some arena action then!

My main's a mage and I'm sticking with it for raiding because it's what my guild knows me as and what I enjoy playing most.

As for an alt, I'm going rogue. They've been overpowered for most of WoW's lifespan, are fun to play and can pick their battles. The fun factor is the biggest thing, I got a warlock to 70 & geared him out for PvP. Turns out SL/SL was as overpowered as I thought it would be, but I lost interest to the point I'm going to sell his account.

I actually despise dual rogues. Provided they are not using green daggers...Theres generally nothing I can do, but hope that I can stay alive just long enough for my warrior to kill 1 of them.

Wound + Crippling + Mind-Numbing...Its nasty.

If they're any good, they'll have yer warrior buddy locked up. Probably the best thing he could do is assuming it's dual rogue (could be dual drood) is pop zerker rage to avoid being sapped and have to trinket out. He's going to have to use the trinket on a Blind, because if the rogue can't sap, they'll most likely rotate blinds. So, essentially you have to survive one blind and the warrior trinkets out of the second. Actually, thinking about it.. it's pretty dangerous all around. A rogue could also vanish and sap or simply run off until he's OOC and sap while the warrior is still blinded. Hmm I'm not too sure. I don't really PVP much on my rogue(s) because I always get kicked out of my arena teams for never being online on that character (it's not like they give me a time =\).
