14.2 patch seems good to me so far. If I load the test range I max out at 134 FPS at spawn without moving on DX11. Under mantle it goes to 200 FPS. And no amount of explosions causes any spike on the graph.

2. If you have a “user.cfg” file, open it in notepad.
3. Delete the command line “UI.DrawEnable 1”
4. Save the file
5. Start the game

Looks like it's a temp fix.

Was just catching up on this thread and was about to post this (in response to your earlier post).
When trying to play last night, I was having the same problem that you were. Using this "fix" solved the issue. FYI I am not running AMD/AMD cpu/gpu (have an I7 and gtx670). So, it's not just cpu/gpu related.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. Can't even load a map. I've got an i5 with an Nv 660. Guess I'll go play something else until they release the next patch..
 
I had no trouble getting the GOL on Caspian with all the activity near the tower. Kills count from anywhere on the tower so the lower level works best, and hardcore offers one hit kills.
 
I've destroyed my K/D ratio by trying to get the GOL. Still don't have it.

I got mine on Firestorm by total accident. I was like, wtf is this? I haven't tried it out yet. I helped a friend get his by letting him shoot me in the face 6 times in a row from the tower. Worked like a charm (for him).
 
Yup, HC on Firestorm conquest is how I got it. Went up to the first level and picked off guys at C. Tried a couple times on Caspian but the tower would always get destroyed before I could get my kills.
 
I've been a statistical outlier in terms of game stability from the moment I installed it. Since the previous patch, I had the issue where certain maps will sound loop crash on every attempt to play them, most of the time while still in deployment screen. The latest patch fixed it for me, Metro, Dawnbreaker, Paracel and Locker are all now playable for me, no crashes yet, only played a little under the lastest update. My framerate is also improved, at 1440p and Ultra/2XMSAA, I don't dip into 30's anymore unless there are a lot of explosions happening within my view at the same time. Hopefully the next patch won't undo this one for me.

Having skipped BF franchise since BC2 and my online shooter experience largely made of a decade in CS and CS:S, here are things I observed in recent online shooters and community:

-Absolutely avoid communications with random people even if the gameplay suffers. The internet has always been a magnet for idiots but I didn't kbow it was to this extent. My experiences with spoiled brats, trolls and pro complainers has driven me conclude that, if the world ends tomorrow, I'll spend my final moments smiling knowing that these "people" are going too.


-So much disregard for rules and common sense both on end user and the dev/publisher sides. While frag fests on "no explosives" servers and "I'll fly/drive this vehicle without even the basic skills" are addressed in my point above, DICE totally dropped the ball on server customization. Copying the grind from F2P's and feature creep serve as distractions from inability to innovate. I'm not even sure feature creep is the right is the right term, it's rather bloat that doesn't have much to do with the game itself. Lucky for BF others have the same problem and rely on uniform counts, gun attachments and mission assignments too but there is so much to be improved, someone is bound to nail it.


-BF4, when working as intended, is the best online PC shooter at the moment, from a technical aspect yet old CS's beats it in most important aspects of online gun play. It's not too difficult to topple BF from that spot but the way the game industry works sets a high entry bar only few heavyweights can deal with.

This is really the reason BF4 and it's sequels will continue to exist. Building up the resources and assets to start a new multiplayer AAA franchise with the scope of Battlefield is daunting at best.

Apparently, Stig's project at Sony Santa Monica was just cancelled, which was a Sci-fi vehicle combat game and had been in development for 4 years. It was supposed to be the feature at E3 this year for Sony. And SCE is supposed to be considered a new IP heavyweight.

I wish they had a licensing test to 'unlock' vehicles in the test range. Make you fly through some hoops and land in all the air vehicles, and some basic drone elimination for all types. I especially like the guy who is 1:10 and steals a tank from you when he's not even an engineer. He'll be dead in under 30s for sure.

What? I drive a tank all the time not as an engineer. The main gunner shouldn't be an engineer but the secondary person.
