I wish they had a licensing test to 'unlock' vehicles in the test range. Make you fly through some hoops and land in all the air vehicles, and some basic drone elimination for all types. I especially like the guy who is 1:10 and steals a tank from you when he's not even an engineer. He'll be dead in under 30s for sure.
Reminds me of a game i was in a few days ago. I was flying the little bird on a hardcore server when a my squad leader spawns in with me just in time to get blown to bits, of course he bitches that Im a horrible pilot and should stay out of choppers. If only he had looked at the scoreboard, as I was 12-1 at the time. I told him that if he could stop crying and maybe help out with some repairs, that would be great. Of course he screams Im a support and why would I help a sucky pilot like yourself. So a few minutes later after Ive killed several more in my scout helo and taken more damage (with another brilliant squad mate who is riding along trying to snipe ) I land, and while I am doing my own repairs the moron squad leader spawns on the useless sniper and steals my helo. Before I even had time to type that he was an asshole he was already knocked down by stingers. ROFLMAO!!! After mocking him incessantly for a few minutes I switched squads to some guys who actually did a few repairs before bailing, and proceeded to go 44-9 mainly using my trusty little scout helo.

Battlefield 4 Premium is on sale at GreenManGaming for 25% off, or $40, until Friday (tommorow). Don't get left behind when your friends want to Play Capture The Flag or Carrier Asssult. Buy it now!

Grab Battlefield 4 Premium for 25% Off Until This Friday

battlefield-4-premium-service-sale-790x444.jpg

The Premium Service for Battlefield 4 went back on sale this week at UK-based digital retailer GMG, tying its historic low price. While everyone’s favorite (but buggy) first-person shooter is still enjoying strong sales, it’s slowly becoming clear that if DICE doesn’t get into gear faster, the game will experience a quick decline in user base due to the numerous documented cases of disconnect, rubber banding, and other bugs.

Having said all that, Battlefield 4 still provides one of the better multiplayer FPS experiences out there, so for fans of the title who are willing to wait it out and looking for additional content at a lower price point, this is the way to go.

Battlefield 4 Premium Service is at $37.50 after using 25% off coupon: 1WDO6K-KWDFJQ-U1E7AI

So far as the frequency of sales goes, BF4′s Premium Service will usually be on discount at around the $40 price mark every 2-3 months at various retailers. When not on sale, you’ll find it at the full $50 MSRP. The coupon above should work until January 24th at 11AM Eastern. As far as we know, it works in the UK/EU too, but if you don’t automatically get redirected to your region’s specific version, just do a search on top.

Now whether you should toss more money at DICE hoping that the problem will be fixed eventually is another issue altogether. Note that beyond the now-released China Rising, further development on additional expansions that you’ll find in the Premium Service is being delayed – according to DICE, to focus 100% on fixing the current state of the game. Let’s hope they get everything squared away ASAP for all platforms.

Game deals are brought to you by the crew at Dealzon. Disclaimer: Sales help support Gamebreaker.TV. Feedback? Let us know in the comments. We’ll be posting game deals from PC to consoles!

Sorry for the old information, visit the GMG site to confirm details of the current sale.

What? I drive a tank all the time not as an engineer. The main gunner shouldn't be an engineer but the secondary person.

You never know for sure if you are going to have a gunner. If you spawn in a tank as anything other than an engineer, you're doing it wrong.

LOL Then you have to love the guy that crashes or serves on a plate to enemy a fully occupied vehicle 5 seconds after he gets in or worse, he waited on purpose for others to board so he can crash a fully loaded vehicle.

I don't even try jets and choppers because flying is still not my forte. That's just common sense that isn't as common as it should be.

So I can jump out to repair my tank and either get sniped or have some eff up take from me while I fix it? I'll take my chances with the maintenance perk and whatever other class I feel like playing.

I'm horrible at shooting so I'm looking for any advantage I can find. My monitor is 1680x1050 60hz (75Hz max) . Should I enable vsync? If so should I do it in game or in Catalyst? Or is it best to cap the fps or do nothing? I had to enable vsync to keep from crashing after two patches ago. I also noticed my fans don't spin fast anymore.

After reading about enabling the monitors own cross hairs I put a small piece of tape where my laser points when ADS. This seems to help with aiming.

What do you use for your sound settings? I switched to War Tapes last night. Is this better?

I also set network smoothing to 0 and set both AA settings off. Do you have any other tips to help me get the jump on the enemy?

Network smoothing to 0 is the most important one, although vsync off is also lower latency.

Key to winning infantry combat is to be the one attacking, you need to be moving when they aren't, if you do that then you get a sizeable latency advantage and should win most battles.

vsync off, fps cap at 75fps. Though 75hz- that is unusual. Thats at that resolution? What are your frame rates like? If you can't hit 75fps at almost all times, I'd drop down to 60hz and play with setting until you're locked in at 60fps all the time. Less stuttering from the frame rate jumping all the time makes it easier to aim. Turn off FOV scaling for ADS in video settings. This allows you to use a wide FOV, but still get a good zoom while ADS. Turn terrain decoration to low.

Make sure you mouse dpi is up to max and just turn down sensitivity in game. Set your mouse polling rate to 1000hz if possible. Turn off any mouse acceleration (enhance pointer precision) functions.

Sound you want hi-fi for the fullest range with the head transfer function enabled.

On the test range I turned off vsync and in the console I entered GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60. After I did that I saw screen tearing or wide horizontal lines when moving the mouse quickly. With vsync off I don't see these lines.

I've been attacking more but I'm terrible at shooting on the move. I also need to hip fire more in close quarters as I always ADS.

Here is my monitor's specs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001310

I haven't checked my frame rates. I'm using the top rig in my siggy. I'll try your other two suggestions. Should I see screen tearing if I cap using GameTime.MaxVariableFps 60 in the console?

I have my dpi set at 2000 most of the time when playing but it goes up to 3200. Polling is at 1000 and mouse acceleration is off.

I should have mentioned that I'm using Audio Technica M50 headphones. Does your suggestion work well with headphones? Is the head transfer setting in game?

Those headphones are getting you killed. lol JK. None of that stuff is going to help that much. I got everything fine tuned exactly the way I like it, and I still get Pwned some matches. It just happens. Well, Pwned for me is like 1:1 or a little worse. Hi, what are you struggling with again? I just had an ADD moment, sorry.

Yup, 60hz @ native resolution.

A 7970 should have no trouble sitting at 60 with your frame cap. Tearing was minimized for me when running a frame cap. What it did was tend to keep a single tear around the same place though instead of 5-6 tears all over the place. Its an improvement anyways. Play with small changes up and down to see on it affects the tear drift. I think 59.97hz is the actual rate.

I have my dpi set at 2000 most of the time when playing but it goes up to 3200. Polling is at 1000 and mouse acceleration is off.

The deal with dpi is it allows you to aim in finer increments. Like being able to point to 50.87534 degrees instead of 50.875 degrees. However its more important that you find a setting you are comfortable with and make it consistent. Figure out how many inches of mouse movement you want a 360 to take and make the effort to get every fps dialed in with the mouse sensitivity setting. Use the user.cfg if needed for finer control.

I should have mentioned that I'm using Audio Technica M50 headphones. Does your suggestion work well with headphones? Is the head transfer setting in game?

Yup. Its the suggested setting for headphones I hear.

Ok, I did a little experimenting and I get screen tear when capping my fps around 60 fps. If I cap at 67 fps it helps but my fans start running faster. In my monitors on screen menu under information it says Digital 64.6kHz 60hz PN 1680x1050. I guess that means I should try capping at 64.6?

Where is the head transfer setting and what does it do?

Back in January I found a few posts where people are using a FOV setting of 75. Does that sound like a good setting? I think mine is currently set at 80 or 85.

No 60hz is the rate of your monitor, the vertical or horizontal time is irrelevant. With vsync off just let it get its best FPS, there is a latency improvement the higher the FPS goes even if you don't have a faster monitor.

Where is the head transfer setting and what does it do?

Its not directly in the settings and all it should require is setting headphones in the sound settings. Head-fi or wartapes just changes the background and some processing but it doesn't change the simulated surround sound which is what I think he was trying to say.

Another way to do this however might work out better which is to use your sound cards surround sound. Then you should set the game to 5.1 channels in the config files it writes in My Documents and turn off stereo in there as well and I find with a SBZ that I get quite significantly better surround sound with that than I do with the inbuilt software one.

Is anyone else having CPU usage issues since the latest patch?

28l4z9d.png

Yes beforehand 80-85% CPU usage, now 95-100%. I fixed it by setting maxvarabiefps 59.94 and now it floats 60-80% while never dropping below 60fps. I can try 100 fps to see if it changes, I haven't investigated much further so I will see if I can find what the exact cause is.

I actually think it's the client after the update, even with a perfectly fine connection the 4 square packet loss icon is constantly flashing makes me think the client is having trouble responding to the server and your connection not having anything to do with it.

The frame cap mainly helps you control tearing. It also keeps your GPU a little cooler if you're running a OC.

I have adaptive vsync enabled through the nvidia software though. (it doesn't work in windowed mode apparently). It seems as though that should do the same thing. Also before the update my CPU was around 60% usage

I only glanced over a few posts in this thread so it may or may not help. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2979150493859078655/

Unrelated random tip which you all probably already know. In your battlelog address bar type "/settings" (no quotes) after /bf4/ and it will take you to a mic settings page. You should be able to change to mic voice activation on the page along with a couple other settings.

Type this http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/settings/ or this http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/settings/voice/

Thanks for the info on the latency improvement. I've been wondering about that after watching a youtube video.

I'm trying your suggestion although I would have to look up the config setting info.

I have noticed since switching to 5.1 that sounds behind me are much quieter. I'm mainly looking to increase footstep and vehicle noise so I know what is sneaking up on my position.
