I just want to know what's causing the game to freeze up, sometimes between maps, other times in the map. The game just locks up. I need to ctrl+alt+del to get to task manager to shut it down.
This seems to be a somewhat common error as well. I haven't had this problem in campaign mode, but I haven't played it as much as mp.

Agree 100%. Also, why the heck do I need to know how many bullets I have available if reloading is clip based. Just show me how many bullets my current clip has, and how many full extra clips I have left please.

Sorry Crusty, but your e8400 simply will never be able to play this game, regardless of the settings you choose. I could barely get BF Bad Company 2 to run decently on my old e8400.

Simply put, you need four threads, or you will not be able to play this game comfortably.

That's one thing I haven't tried, messing with V-sync. It's frustrating to watch the game render at 60FPS no problem but then have horrible stuttering where the whole game freezes at random times so perhaps Vsync is the issue.

Yeah I turned vsync off. Usually tearing in games drives me berserk but it's not really noticable in BF4

Well i've ranked the same rank now for 3 hours, over, and over, and over. I guess battlelog and ranking is bugged.

That is the EXACT issue I am having. People with i5's and i7's experiencing the SAME thing.

Look, I know my CPU is old but that doesn't mean that the game should completely stop rendering for 100's of milliseconds at a time.

I can be standing still, not moving, staring at a wall and watch my FPS go from a constant 60FPS to 0FPS randomly. If my CPU was really the problem then my stuttering would be constant and repeatable to the point where my entire FPS would be slower. Not having periods of perfect 60FPS and periods of 0FPS.

If my CPU can only deliver 45FPS then that's what my FPS would be(not randomly jumping between 60 and 0), fact is that my CPU can and DOES deliver at least 60FPS to my GPU the vast majority of the time.

Really? Long live the E8400 then! No serious, if it works then it works and that's great.
Regarding your 0 FPS issue, that's odd that you put it like that because I had similar issues. Maybe its not my Vram. Crossing my fingers.
Out of curiosity, have you tried some of the more complex looking maps like Paracel or Shanghai? How does your FPS do on those?

Thanks. Do you have a link to this as the cause? I guess it's good news if it's the servers, DICE/EA would get a patch out faster than they would if it was the client, I think

Found this on the battlelog forums. This was an issue with BF3, so I'm assuming you can do this to fix BF4 as well. This has worked for many people.

Yeah, if I recall, BF3's launch had some growing pains as well, took them a couple of patches to get everything ironed out.

I had to rebind my throw grenade key because the key I was using (B) keep bringing up console everytime I toss a grenade. Annoying but nothing major.

Another nitpicky gripe I have is that the skyboxes in BF4 looks rather low res compared to BF3's. Overall, I think BF4's graphics are on par with BF3, nothing have standout for me that's completely mindblowing. The levelution is pretty fucking cool though.

I always use kb/m, but I never considered myself a good pilot. I was decent in BC2 with helicopters and okay in BF2. I pretty much avoided flying in BF3. I never even unlocked the flares.

So far I only had two crashes, both video based. First one was in single player, the other in multiplayer. The screen would go white and the game crashes. Had 2 or 3 server timeouts too. Friends are complaining about 3-4 crashes per night.

I use a joystick as a rule because that's how I like to fly, but in BF3/BF4 if you use a joystick you'll always lose out to the guys who can really use a kb/m well.

I crash a few times a night, random disconnects or BF4 has stopped work.

I was using the training mode to try to learn how to fly, and it is much easier but I still suck. Well, I can fly around alright, but I'm no expandas. I tried his patented fly under the bridge moved and crashed every time. :biggrin: I remember in BF3 you guys had some suggestions for keyboard bindings...anyone care to repost that?

Some of them are weird with their settings. I played a "hardcore" server last night with no ticks from bullets. It was okay (because it didn't have stupidly high TTK), but strange. I wish official ranked hardcore settings would be released and searchable.
