I'm pretty sure that communicating with the enemy we are fighting a war (2 wars?) against should be figured in.

But my point is that they are very quick to call this a terrorist attack and to even make a point of doing so. I'm would just like to know why the hurry in calling this terrorism but not Fort Hood?

Perhaps the difference is the Fort Hood attacker had a known history and a connection to the people he killed. Which gave him motivations that trying to kill a planeload of people you don't know a different baseline.

Very true. I snapped to a conclusion even though I didn't have a ton of information....something I hate when other people do. Something tells me the FBI probably has a little better idea of what's going on than me :D

I just notice I kinda screwed up may post, but the point seems to have gotten thru.

And, yeah, we obviously don't have the whole story yet on todays "incident"

Though, when you consider the number of wacky and mentally ill people out there, these kinds of incidents seem very, very rare.

wtf???? This is a terror attack but killing 17 soldiers on American soil isn't?

Obama and his White House are so full of shit that its amazing.

Terrorism - the calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.

Why would you call someone else full of shit when you have no clue what you're talking about?

Rare but scary. Planes have always been a target but our military bases really scares the heck out of me. If those places aren't secure then what place is??? Then I start thinking about stadiums, malls, subways....then I start making tin foil hats and practicing ducking and covering.

So to qualify as a "terrorist" attack the motivation of the "terrorist" is critical.

Vince Young is my new favorite NFL QB. I am positive about that one.

It would be far more difficult to make an attack on an airplane than a military base. If one has the motivation and half a brain, there aren't many places in the world that aren't immune to attack.

As far as the department of defense is concerned, yes. And it wasn't the Obama administration that came up with it. So to criticize the man for not classifying Ft Hood as a "terrorist" attack is wicked retarded.

Wow, I can't believe we are actually classifying this as a "terrorist attack" when some inept Nigerian who probably watched an Al Qaeda webinar on how to make a "powder bomb" failed at the only thing he thought he had to do. Of course we can watch as the MSM takes this farther than it should ever go and link him to Osama bin Laden and the entire crew in Pakistan.

Such a joke. This is why we have to take our shoes off at the airport? And I had to throw away my shaving cream and face wash last time I was at O'Hare?

This guy is a no REAL terrorist but rather a shitty wanna be like most of them over the last couple years.

I will gladly take my freedoms and take my chances with this asshole. Be scared America! Dark skinned men with facial hair want you dead!!!!!! DO whatever we tell you to do!!1

Um.....ok? Sure.........Not really sure what you are even taking about. How do you assume I would be happy about any of this? You certainly don't know me....and its blatant attempt to use this insignificant event to push an agenda by the MSM and those in power.

sorry, i get some of my news from the Freerepublic. and when this first hit, everyone jumped and point at terrorist attack. and they were right this time.

"what’s stunning is that the White House would admit this was a terrorist attack. For the last six years, the government has bent over backwards assuring us that everything that smells suspiciously like terrorism on our soil isn’t really terrorism."

seems like it. pretty much whatever the president does, it's his fault. i remember it started with clinton, then bush, now obama.... depending on which side the person is 'rooting' for.

people should not going to get angry over something they have little or no control over.

You just described what happened at Fort Hood, so yes, it was terrorism.

they were probably referring to everything from the recent incidents with UA Flight 227, AirTran Flighth 297 to something big like fort hood. but who knows if they should be wearing tin foil hat or not.
