Not that it would've likely stopped them here, but a teenage driver should never be allowed to drive when other teens are in the same car. Make it a law. It would prevent a lot of the showoff-type "accidents".

It is law in a lot of places.

yea and it solves nothing

I'm not talking about a junior license. I'm talking a full license, but under 21. Still true?

Why wouldn't that help reduce the showoffs who kill themselves and a friend or two?

yes its true, look up the laws for NY state, cant drive after 9 unless you are over 18, cant have more then 1 person in the car under 18 if you are as well and theres more to it

yet teenagers still end up getting themselfs killed

most recent victims im my area were those 4 or 5 girls that got in a head on crash with a semi, all under 18, all just graduated, happened last summer

21. At 18, they are still in HS and when they're first getting their own cars. At 21 they're more experienced with it, and undoubtedly more responsible than HS age.

Holy smokes! And you know I've heard Clarkson and Hammond talk about how they have to put markers out when they're doing the straight line speed runs because there's no frame of reference that they are nearing the end of the runway. Sounds like he underestimated how much time he'd need to stop at that speed or mistook where he was on the runway and then it was too late.

It's not a repost for those of us who never venture into The Garage, except to pose car-related questions to the experts.;)

Like giving a loaded gun to a bunch of chimps. Once one finds out that little stick make big noise, he's going to show it to all his buddies, to demonstrate what a badass he is. Then he'll try to look inside it to see what makes the big bang. At that point, his friends get to watch a rather disturbing show.

In his last entry on the forum, posted at 12:33 a.m. Saturday, AmericanM5 wrote, "I completley [sic] understand where you are coming from assuming that I am irresponsible.. that is definetly [sic] understandable. I do sometimes make bad decisions but I am young and I do drive safe and I will not endanger the lives of others.. and I hope you are not under the impression that I am the one to brag, I have never been that way and never will."

Irony?

[sic] is a journalism term meaning that the word it is after was originally misspelled when the author quoted whoever wrote it.

It means "thus," signifying that the quoted text is reprinted as it was originally written, indicating spelling (or grammatical) errors are a result of the original writer, not the editor.

The car was split in two upon impact, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, ejecting three passengers and partially ejecting the other two.

makes you wonder what parts decided to stay with the car:p

anyways, hopefully the crime scene photos are leaked. i'm just curious what this kind of accident looks like... 85 foot ramp..a tree... nuts

I want to see some gore shots. I'm sure the paparazzi staked-out at Travolta's house snapped a few pictures post accident "Diana-style".

It's called journalism. It's necessary in reporting, in that if you must properly quote someone, you have to do it exactly as written.

forum or not, this is how it has always been. sadly, the generations of children raised on internetting and texting will have [sic] following them around for the rest of their lives.

i love kids like that. Claim those cars that daddy and mommy own as their own cars, as if they earned them!

Sucks for him.

I just searched for her (and I'm not the type to look up beheading videos, etc.) and it wasn't that bad. It's a crushed head... she wasn't actually decapitated.

I think crushed heads are worse than decapitations. Severed heads all look like mannequins to me. But a crushed skull half-full with brain matter and teeth...much more disturbing.
