The moderators are part of what makes this place fun to hang out at :D

So if I understand this article right, the corruption runs deep on a free, public forum that someone else pays for & you can enjoy for no cost? (minus my lifetime membership fee, which was totally worth it btw) And that no one is forcing anyone to be on, especially when there are plenty of other free online forums available? 13 pages seems pretty excessive to file a public complaint about. Why not just join another forum?

Also shoutout to pliablemoose in the article comments!

So what? Just because the person didn't pay to be here doesn't mean that his/her objections are not valid. Just because it might not affect you personally doesn't mean these aren't valid complaints. Stop trivializing something that obviously bothers the author of that article.

lol

The author of the article should have been banned immediately for making a sock-puppet account.

He was originally Jimbo75.

Unfortunately this guy knows that the article will get a lot of clicks because of the popularity of anandtech.com which is really the entire purpose of the article.

He decides on something inflammatory, seeks out and presents only the information that supports it...profit!

Well, he did put in a colossal effort. :D

Frankly, I was hoping for more off-topic drama though, than something about the mess VC&G is - and this former poster has helped become through his triple accounts.
Also, I don't see how anyone calling him a fanboy isn't saying anything but the truth. He uses different words for the same label all throughout his article, and self-identifies as an AMD-fanboy. So obviously mods shouldn't consider someone calling him a fanboy anything but stating the obvious :D

I kept thinking this was in reference to Video Games & Consoles thinking..who cares what happens in there? :D

I'm lazy and don't feel like reading that thread or this thread. Can someone sum this up for me and answer two simple questions?

1) Is there really corruption here?
2) How do I get a piece of the action?

So one of the most bias posters I've seen in recent history is claiming others to be bias? Color me shocked!

I didn't actually read that, but I'm guessing its the usual melodramatic bullshit that forums seem to cultivate?

A couple of years back I had some mod in the video forum repeatedly accuse me of having mental issues for bringing up something he admitted he didn't even actually know what he was talking about (the nVidia forum shills debacle), to which he then made one of the single worst analogies I've ever seen by comparing the change in opinion of nVidia's paid "marketers" to the change in opinion of the US military now versus when they interned Japanese Americans during WWII.

Shortly after that though was the holy grail of melodrama on here when that mod forum area was accidentally made public and then all the crazy shit that happened after that. I loved seeing the former mods come out of the woodwork to talk shit on the current ones and all the bitching about the silliest shit.

Oh, and who was the mod that bragged about driving home drunk?

Not saying they aren't valid complaints. But what's the point of posting a 13-page article about it? To convince a handful of other offended people to stop visiting? There's no Internet Police, it's privately-owned, and people join & visit at-will. If it annoys him, why keep returning? There's literally dozens of other tech forums on the net to be a part of, some far more technical than AT, that also have different sets of rules available.

Jesus. At the end of a day, this is an internet forum. I swear, people take the dumbest things to the extreme. "Anandtech Forums on trial"... Please. All that was missing from this mess of an "article" was a fancy graph and pie chart. What a waste of time.

Mmmm.... Pie.

Thank you. Sometimes I think I'm a lone island of sanity around here :D

Wow... That was an... interesting read.

Someone has way too much time on their hands.

The mantle thing in VC&G was annoying though. If you have to keep locking a thread on a subject and ultimately stop anyone from posting about it because people keep trolling those threads it might just be a better idea to ban the ones trolling.
