He's spot on, but ultimately wasting his time.

The moderators are part of what makes this place fun to hang out at :D

So if I understand this article right, the corruption runs deep on a free, public forum that someone else pays for & you can enjoy for no cost? (minus my lifetime membership fee, which was totally worth it btw) And that no one is forcing anyone to be on, especially when there are plenty of other free online forums available? 13 pages seems pretty excessive to file a public complaint about. Why not just join another forum?

Also shoutout to pliablemoose in the article comments!

Wow that may be one of the top AT flame-outs of all time.

The "writer" of that emo blog post, SiliconWars, AKA Jimbo75, is a rabid AMD fanboy with obviously no sex life.

So...this poster effectively admits to lying, being openly hostile to mods, trying to entrap them, posting under different aliases, and attempting to do everything he could to undermine the position of the moderation staff....

And then he's surprised when said moderation staff picks up on that hostility and is not 100% stoic and 'professional'.

I'm shocked.

Personally, I had a hard time engaging in any meaningful way over in VC&G, but that's just part of the atmosphere. People need to be able to take amoment, disengage, and gain some context. Not everything is about you or about a fortress mentality dictating that conversations must devolve into a you vs. anyone that doesn't agree. 100%.

I'm not exactly sure what the point of publishing the article was - these forums are on a privately-owned website with what I assume to be volunteer moderators. If the author doesn't like the way he was treated, well - no one if forcing him to stay. I've had my share of vacations, but there's a certain culture that exists and that's pretty much how it is at any online group you join.

They didn't know he was doing this at the time. Otherwise he wouldn't have gotten the responses he did to a lot of the things.

He was using SiliconWars as a sockpuppet account here, he is really Jimbo75.

There is a group of lonely keyboard warriors in the Video Card forum that band together, and this asshole is crying.

Just picture it as Xbox v PS, Apple v Andriod, Etc.

I can't comprehend how anyone could be butthurt enough to write that, over shit that happens on a forum that in no way at all impacts your life...well, if you have a life...hmm, maybe that is his real problem

I didn't think that they did. But it was clear as day that there were some interpersonal issues between he an mods, as well as between he and members. Conspiracy theory, corruption, whatever theory you do or do not ascribe to, when you boil it down, there was a consistent grating of personality. Weather or not the specifics of the 'Master plan' that was being put into place was clear, most people will pick up on social cues that indicate hostility and a lack of a willingness to alter behavior. Mods, in general, because they are at least allegedly human :D share that quality.

Without commenting on the nature of any allegations made there, and with absolutely zero official moderator interaction myself, as a regular poster who tried/tries to get involved in actual technical conversations from time to time, the tone of certain posts, including many that were omitted from that article significantly impacts my desire to continue to try and discuss things.

I mean, what are the odds that the guy isn't either living with parents, or home on SSDI? How could you care so much about the internet? lol

It's been a very long time since I've pissed someone off so much they wrote up a multiple page story about it. Man, that thing is really really long.
