I read up until I saw them reference alexa.

Anyone who references alexa as being remotely close to accurate is full of shit in my book.

I haven't finished reading it. Super-moderators / forum overlords / admins should respond by doing something completely unexpected: Bury the hatchet and make SiliconWars a super / elite moderator for a while and see how it works out.

Or more likely Anand's lawyers send an CND to this dude for using the Anandtech logo without permission.

I'm not reading the entire linked article, but I have seen some mods in some sub-forums here apply the posted rules unevenly. No where near as bad as some subreddits though, where the mod will ban you simply for disagreeing with the mod's opinion.

LOL. And they all failed right? #1 rule of business. Don't piss off your customers or you'll have none left.

Forums aren't a business. That's not to say you can't make money off it or it's not related to a business, but making money isn't typically the driving force behind a forum. Forums are typically either created to provide a online meeting place for people with similar interests (IE hobby related forums) or to give existing traffic a reason to stay on the site (IE forums on a tech news site). There's far easier and less time consuming ways to make money than an internet forum.

Or they could change his password to gain access to his account, read his PMs, lie about it, then get accidentally outed by one of their own. :sneaky:

He is absolutely correct in what he is saying. Handful of very, very intel/nvidia biased posters have absolutely ruined the cpu & vcg forums. Obscene amounts of trolling and personal attacks but none of them ever get vacationed or banned. Those forums are absolutely useless for any amount of discussion, really the only good they have is to scan once or twice a month for any interesting news linked at the beginning of a thread.

I can see how such a long rant can come across as... odd. This is a pretty huge forum though and seeing how much the information and opinions presented here can sway the purchases of less informed who read I can see why it was worth it to him to write it out.

This place doesn't have the nickname of 'Inteltech' for nothing.

LOL, I can revise the statement I made before.
AMD Fanboys: "The nVidia fanboys never get vacationed. You always vacation us."

seems like someone spent some time here...

also after the bullshit with ROLO and the NIvida focus group does anyone really seem shocked at the guys allegations?

There was some pro Nvidia bias there. I almost never even check out the video card section anymore. Is it even the same moderators now?

As for the article, too long didn't read.

My three teen-aged daughters exhibit remarkably similar behavior.

Oh man I'm sorry, a guy I work with has three teenaged daughters who are obsessed with One Direction. He secretly got them tickets to a concert upfront, spent $900 on them. When he and his wife were just toying with them proposing the idea of going to a Bruno Mars or Katy Perry concert, my coworker captured them on video wailing for a good ten minutes like little babies off the teet. Omfg. I'm sorry bud.

I'm curious as to how someone found this gem. I hope no one actually reads that site on the regular... D:

The guy is using alt accounts to spam that shit piece all over various tech forums. Everyone is reacting basically the same way.

From what I've gathered over the years, this is a pretty accurate description, and I'm sure y'all are as sick of moderating it as I am of reading it.

We should have a trial. I want to be on the jury, but only if I can bring beer.
