I was running some errands today, driving through a relatively large town during rush hour. The interstate I was on had the 2 lanes + turn lane between exits.
I was in the left hand lane since my exit wasn't for a couple of miles when I saw a car in the center lane hit its brakes. The cars behind it slowed but the first car kept slowing until it had come to a complete stop about ten yards before an exit. Their turn signal was on - apparently the driver had decided that instead of just driving one mile to the next exit that they needed to come to a complete stop in the center lane of an interstate, with heavy traffic, and wait for the right turn lane to clear.
This area isn't constant gridlock like some stretches of interstate are - the common speed is usually about 75mph. I was absolutely astonished that there wasn't a multi-car collision filled with fire and death. If there had been a truck in the center lane then there is no way it would've been able to stop in time.
So what's the dumbest fucking thing you've seen another driver do?
