Things are done differently in every country. Freedom is not the issue here. You being obsessed with the US is the issue.

Freedom is most definitely the issue when you get stopped at random after doing nothing wrong.

He says, "You were going 60, maybe 62 mph and this is a 45mph."

At this point, since I have been staring at the speedometer the whole time, I chimed in and said, "She was not speeding, sir. I was watching the speedometer the whole time and she never once passed 48mph. Can we go? Our Taco Bell is getting cold."

Right fvcking there you ADMITTED that she was speeding. Yet you were doing nothing wrong! Buzz...

The mandatory 10% over-read on the speedo can take care of that fella. Actual speed taken by a calibrated instrument would not show 48, more like 43-44. BUZZ.

There is no mandatory 10% over-read in the state of Florida. This is not the UK.

So you have a calibrated Speedo? No. So get a clue. The Radar will HAVE to be calibrated within a given time frame of the trap or it's evidence will not be valid. Your car WILL NOT read over your actual speed, but under. It will get closer to actual as the tyres wear, but will not show over speed readings, this would be illegal. So it is safe to say that you are not doing the indicated speed, but always under that speed. My point being, Brxndxn says 48, so what? Is that admissable? No. game over. Calibrated readings only, fella, game over.

And now we have that sorted out, tell me, why do you allow the errosion of your freedom? Do you enjoy free will and safety? I do and will fight every inch of the way to keep it. You can just roll over and get trodden on if you want, but sometimes you have got to make a stand, but if not, step aside and let those who care protect you from the evils you don't even want to acknowledge.

*yawns* I think everyone is quite aware of what impact tires have on the speedo as well as gears, and the frequent calibration needed for radar. Secondly, under 60 MPH most speedos are accurate to within a FEW percent here in the US. Search google if you want the info I read. I read it several years ago. Thirdly, you have much less freedom in the UK than I do here. I can own a firearm and you cannot. Don't even start on freedom because you have very little compared to me. Fourthly, a speedo can and WILL read over the actual limit is going. What is preventing it from doing so? God? Please I have raced cars for years now and when you go from 3.27 gears to 4.10s your speedo reads ABOVE actual speed.

1) You have more freedom than me? I can get out and talk to a cop without fearing that he will A) shoot me in the face cause I look at him funny or B) beat me to a pulp because he hasn't fvcked his wife in 2 months straight.

2) Only the type of firearm is restricted. If I want one lawfully I can get one. You are badly informed. Again.

3)Explain the 'extra' freedoms you have over a UK resident. (me=LMAO already)

4) See the bold text. So 48 read in probably 45 real, end of.

Ooooh your a racer too, great, really impressive. Ever driven a Countach? I have, but it doesn't make the fact that the cop was an ass any less than your sketchy rear end gearing knowledge does, does it?

1. No point was made. Just stupidity and rambling

2. Post a link. What kind can you get? What restrictions? Thanks. Put up or shut up!

3. Already did...

4. ??? Speak English please. BTW, my gear knowledge was dead on. Driving a Countach proves what? Oh that you can continue your lies. Wow, another liar. Do you want me to get the rear end gear calculator from the corral out and whoop your ass with it? I can prove to you FACTUALLY that a 4.10 forces a speedo to read higher than a 3.27 when it is not corrected.

1) Those Blinkers must hurt, give them a rest. Just ignoring the truth doesn't stop it being true

2) To placate your spoon-feed mentality, here is a
LINK

3) Guns. Is that it? I'm happy to be chastised then, LOL.

4) Again, read the bold text. Is that a properly constructed sentence? As for the rear end gearing crap, I couldn't give a waxed muff about it. The Lambo is for real, a 25th Aniversary model, previous owner was in a pop band and then went to my friends cousin. We took it out, we went fast and no bacon boys could catch us. Ahh, freedom and privilege, I like it. Suck it down donut boi.

Where can you buy a handgun on that site? You can't buy one period in the UK. You also don't have to have ANY type of license to buy a rifle or shotgun here. Thus, I have more freedom than you.

1. Again no point.
2. No point
3. Didn't prove your point.
4. Mindless drivel.

Good job. I aware you 0 points for your attempt.

You aren't very clever, are you? Leave your head in the sand then, pretend everything is alright.

a passenger should NEVER admit to a cop that he/she had been drinking?? this is news to me.

I said it was? WHY CAN'T YOU READ! Read the whole thread to understand WHY drinking was brought up. It all makes sense I promise.

SuperTool ... wow ... ur scarn me ... heh

Is that an option for installation in your car model ... :p

... When I went up north past Green Bay last week ... I had a conversation with a guy that had a brother ... who ...

"had to blow Tahoe" ... I was asking ... "WHAT?"
(It was coincendence (sp?) cuz, my freind I drove up thier with had a sweatshirt he was wearing that said "Lake Tahoe" on it ... and the guy speaking didnt know ...)

He explained that His brother had to have him blow into a breathalizer installed in his brothers car (a Tahoe) ... do get it running .. to get it home ...

I was like ... " was that and option he asked for in the car ....? "
(I was alil confused as what he was talking about at the time ... )

He explained that the state of Wisconsin installed a device that renders a vehicle unstartable without a passing breathalize test...

I laffd so hard ...

(then I was scarred this guy was still drinking and driving)

I think i'm gonna agree to disagree on this one millenium. not that i know anything about the original poster and you may be completely right about him, but as a general principle power and authority in the hands of capricious people always worry me. human nature being what it is, people tend to abuse power.

Hey, what's up, script kiddy? Do you actually have a license to drive a motor vehicle? Have you ever worked with a police officer on a regular basis, or had one in your family or as a close family friend?

If you had any amount of sense, you would realize the disgusting amount of blatant ignorance in your post.

I can't believe anyone thinks that they have more freedom than anyone else using the constitution's second amendment.

We live in society where (it is quite apparent after looking at this thread) people get messed with by the cops get taken in or pulled over for no apparent reason and is blamed on probably cause and someone feels that they have more freedom because of the second amendment.

That is really dumb.
Also,
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

IMHO, It Does not necessarily give people the right to personally own a gun the original intent of the law was to give the states powers to form a militia.

It has never been brought before the supreme court on
1. whether the second amendment actually gives someone personally the right to bear arms.
2. definition of arms

NOUN
A weapon, especially a firearm: troops bearing arms; ICBMs, bombs, and other nuclear arms.

A branch of a military force: infantry, armor, and other combat arms.
arms
Warfare: a call to arms against the invaders.

Military service: several million volunteers under arms; the profession of arms.
arms

Heraldry. Bearings.

Insignia, as of a state, an official, a family, or an organization.

VERB
To equip with weapons: armed themselves with loaded pistols; arm a missile with a warhead; arm a nation for war.
To equip with what is needed for effective action: tax advisers who were armed with the latest forms.
To provide with something that strengthens or protects: a space reentry vehicle that was armed with a ceramic shield.
To prepare (a weapon) for use or operation, as by releasing a safety device.

Which of those definitions did the framers mean, by the I way it is used in the sentence I would guess it wasn't a verb but, heck the word may have had 20 different meanings back then........

The only reason that the popular consensus today is that "I have a right to have guns"
Is because of the NRA's lobbing and propaganda is fairly intense

I have nothing against GOOD cops. And I mean totally good honest cops (there are few) but maybe you can explain something for me.

Why is corruption so rampid? Why are violent people allowed to be Police Chiefs (see the recent tacoma story). Like I said before if their not doing dirt then it seems like they will cover up for their partner. I'm sorry but in the world today unless I personally know the cop then I don't really trust them! Around here in my area their has been numerous cops caught either beating their wife, embezzling funds, etc etc. I just think they should be held accountable and treated like everyone else. Maybe its just a fringe benefit of being a cop. You get to break certain laws but that isn't right at all.

Good non-fiction book - A Warrant to Kill

You're taking a minority and making them the majority. This is what racists do. 99% of officers are honest, hard working people that genuinely want to help you. You also have to remember that officers are human. They can make bad judgement calls, they can make mistakes, they can even commit crimes. But do you know why it is on the news anytime something like this happens? BECAUSE IT'S NOT A COMMON THING TO HAPPEN! If it happened all the time, people wouldn't care. Good deeds from police are not news worthy, so they only broadcast the bad...making people believe that such things are everyday happenings. With the media setting that kind of tone, our job just gets that much more difficult.

No I am not taking a minority! I told you this happens in every city and I can dig up proof. In ALL police depts there
are "TRAMP COPS" and we all know this. What makes it worst is when their partners won't expose the TRUTH AND DISHONOR! That makes them equally as guilty because they are accessory to the problem.

Are you telling me the Blue Wall of Silence doesn't exist?

You hate police because they chose a more noble profession than you? Yes, it's sad that some police are corrupt, but humanity is inherently corrupt. We must deal with corruption from everyone. If you lived in a society without police, I wonder just how long you would live safely. They do a great deal more for us than we give them credit for.

I got pulled over about a month ago by the border patrol in northern NY. There was no reason why I was pulled over, I wasn't speeding. The officer asked to search my trunk. I cooperated, I didn't want any problems.

While being stopped was quite inconvenient, I didn't have a huge problem with it, since the officer explained the situation. He pulled me over since I was driving an out of state vehicle, (I'm from NH). I guess they've had a problem with out of staters smuggling marijuana out of a indian reservation lately, so that's why I got targeted.

My first time being pulled over, about 3 years ago, I was driving in a town just north of where I live in NH. 30 mph zone, and I was driving up this hill. Just before reaching the top of the hill, this cop fly's by me in the other direction, (I'm unsure of whether or not he actually clocked me). Anyway, he turns around hits his lights, and I pull over. He claims he clocked me going 44 mph, but I know I wasn't going even close to that. Both occupants also said I wasn't going that fast. My car is geared really low, and I was in 3rd gear, meaning if I was travelling at 44 mph in 3rd, my car would be awefully loud.

Anyway, since I only got a warning, I didn't do anything about it.
