I think quite a few that are mad about profiling and police harassing them here are drawing unwanted attention to themselves or provoking it.

I think guns or any kind should be free to be owned without registration whether they be 60 caliber machine guns or .177 varment rifles. I believe also once convicted of a felony you loose those rights....it's a complicated enforcement/regulation but easy doesn't make something good.

Gun registration does not stop criminals, it only labels gun owners and makes it easy should the government intend to assault it's own people to pin point where gun owners live, how many guns they own, and assault them.

A criminal never uses a legal weapon, and if all weapons were illegalized, america would still have criminals packing.

The problem has to do with the cowards and the idiots, they either fear weapons (and believe the country is a perfect place to live and nothing bad will happen if they stay out of the 'ghetto') or the idiots that hurt themselves or others, and then some mom gets a lobby together and enough votes to deem a certain weapon illegal.

American is the home of the free only when a lobby (bringing a ton of cash to the table) doesn't vote otherwise. When people are able to sue because they split hot coffee in their laps and it burned them or a chlid can sue his parents for a spanking, something is wrong.

I had some experience with a DUI bust as I was pulling into my own driveway after having 4 drinks (I had my credit card receipt from the night) in a 4 hour period (about 1 per hour)...I blew a .168 which is like me pounding down 12 in an hour or something (I weigh in at 180)...I figured it was a mistake and would be easy to fix...no way not for less than $10,000 and possibly not driving for over a year waiting for trials....some ppl do get off (lucky), but most times the lawyer just pleads guilty and begs for mercy of the court and then collects his fee. My car was also towed from my driveway 1 mile for a special fee of $375. The normal tow cost was $50 hookup and about $25 for the minimum mileage. Plus you get no chance for bail and have to spend 8 hours in jail no matter what for observation (these 8 hours were more like 16 once paperwork and all the b/s was done).

didnt bother reading all the pages, read the first 2.

why are all you cop lovers so stubborn? it seems like you think they are always right and never fck up. sorry, but there are f@g cops too. even if brxndxn did make the mistake of exiting his car, that makes everything the police did all the better? the police probably did 10x worse than he did. and making excuses for the officer by saying brxndxn shouldnt have asked for his badge number and how he could have just copied his license plate is ridiculous as well. you can make a hundred alternatives and excuses, but the actions of the officer was not justifiable in any sense. asking for his badge number was in not offensive to the cop.

sure sounds like those officers were abusers of power who hid behind their badges.

get real guys, your holy police men are like the ordinary population, there are bad and good ones.

I just got clocked this weekend at 82 or something, and I know I breaked before I got near the guy. Do you know how far they can nail you from. He gave me a ticket and i asked to see the radar reading. He said that the thing resets itself?!! I know I wasn't even going that fast in the distance leave alone when I breaked and got to 60 MPH. He sort gave me a smile like he made it up and I can't do anything about it. BTW this is a notorious speedtrap/revenue generation zone or so I found out.
lol, you're just pissed you got caught. you admit you were speeding.

I was going 75 at most, so I have no problem paying a fine or whatever, but I think putting down a higher speed is bad.

My last speeding ticket was clocked from over 4800 feet away. That's almost a mile. They can get you from pretty damn far.

If they already talked to the cops the officers new they had the situation under control, good move by getting out and asking politely.

Well I read through the thread and I agree with some points from both sides. Personally, I'll accept that there are bad cops out there but I won't go about thinking all squad cars have one behind the wheel.

But I will not agree with:

It is unfair to be singled out and pulled over since we look like two college kids drinking and driving.
Uhh.... right, absolutely unfair.

I would have then taken him to the station and arrested him for disorderly conduct, public intox, refusal to obey a peace officer, resisting arrest, and harassment. I guarantee the DA would have pressed charges on every count. I then would have the DA's office lobbed by the Police Officer's Union and the FOP to NOT plea bargain. a few felonies and a few years in prison would not look good. Then again, I will admit I would have been an asshole, but brxndxn was one first. Never be an asshole to a cop. You always lose. It may not always be right or deserving of the person, but every action has a reaction. It is the simple truth when dealing with someone who has a high stress job and is used to getting attacked by the public. How many drunk and disorderlies has that officer already answered that night? How many people give him lip and try to get him fired over him DOING his JOB? People hate the police, so why can't the police do the same in kind? It isn't right but they are HUMAN just like everyone else. Sure, they are held to a higher standard, but HOW high?
Nice to see just exactly what kind of prick cop you plan on being, Millennium.

People hate car salemen too and give them lip and try to get them fired for doing their job, but a car salesmen doesn't have the luxury of killing people or putting them in jail for years as petty revenge. What comes around goes around, pal. If not in this life, then the next, you fvckin' POS. :|
Does he really plan on being one? If so and the hiring department saw this they might think twice.

Actually I asked because I wasn't sure of your future plans and I wasn't about to read that whole thread.

My futures plan do include a career in Law Enforcement.

He then goes back to his car and proceeds to waste another 10 minutes. Another cop shows up and they start talking. We sat there waiting while our Taco Bell for the entire party was getting cold.
Why didn't you just start eating. I've done that before.

I have already PMed back and forth with him. He has offered zero proof, while I have called the Sarasota Circuit Court and they have NO record. He said he didn't remember the officers name and also said he could not get the case number. He could offer me nothing of substance except for two names that have turned up nothing.
You really called the court? Honestly took you time to call up a court, and ask about a case, that was posted by a completely anonymous person, on the internet?

You, sir, if you truly called the court to ask about this case, have problems, and need to seek counseling of some sort.

You have been around long enough to detect BS from mabey a mile away. You probably sniffed this post, decided it was crap, and then came in to start up some good ole flame war.
I, right now, am sniffing around your pants, because frankly, I think its BS that you called up the courts on this one.

For calling others morons, bullsh!t artists, children, immature, juvenile, and a whole list of other names, you are quite the "moron" yourself, and have sunken deep below the level of thoes you ridicule.

Call them yourself. (941) 861-7400. Yes, I did call. BTW, I think your statements speaks volumes about yourself. No need to critisize other, because you yourself are not above anything.

Would it be safe to assume my sig is from a song by Smile Empty Soul? It is called Bottom of a Bottle.

I wouldn't waste my time or money calling up a court to ask about something I have no case/badge numbers, or names to confirm.
Seriously, seek out something else then this forum. Friends, hobby, wife?

Yes, the sig hardly EVER gets changed. If that's the only thing you can come with, I pity you. Weak at best.
I mean, this forum IS the most important thing in my life! I'm on it 24/7, just like you!
Millenium is my idol!

Anyway, I don't want to stand in the way of the future of law enforcement, our next generation of fat, southern, stupid, self-rightous, power hungry, "officers of the law".
I salute you Millenium. I hope you go out there and clean up the streets!
You get thoes true bad guys!
