I was pulled over while my girlfriend was speeding, this we didnt challenge. He told her to get out of the car (her grandmas camaro) and then asked if he could search it. She asked what he would do if she said no....he said he would call a K-9 unit to come sniff the car. MISTAKE #1 - A cop can never hold you in a situation like this longer than it takes to write the ticket. Here he was being decietful to make her say yes.
She eventually said yes and he came over to my side of the car and told me to get out of the car. Then he told me to put my hands on the side of the vehicle. He then searched me up and down.....taking out the stuff inside my pockets and everything. MISTAKE #2 - Illegal search....he had no probable cause and therefore no right to search me. These are the rules of being a police officer in the great land of the United States of America. This is a violation of the LAW! Even if it made him safer, he had no RIGHT to search my body.
I filed a report even though his boss asked me not to....then he denied the charges. Internal investigations got involved and had my girlfriend and I take a polygraph test. We both passed and he refused to take one. He was convicted on all 8 charges including an Illegal Search and conduct unbecoming of an officer, and he was given a proper punishment.
The plain and simple truth is that cops can NOT just go about doing what they want.....even if they feel like they can. We have rules that have been set out in local and Federal courts and they have to abide by them PERIOD. This cop did NOT OBEY THE RULES OF OUR COUNTRY! It doesnt matter who was a smart ass when or where. These are the LAWS. The cop needs to face the consequences of not following these laws.
I don't believe you for two reasons. First, that was not an illegal search of your person(USSC says so). Secondly, he can make you wait until the canine gets there. It is simply a continuation of his investigation. Nice made up story.
It is a true story.. He has nothing to gain about lying about the cops by posting on some damn forums..
BTW, he is the friend that I was talking about when I said that we read up on the law because of him. I know him. He and I drink together and I used to be his roomate.
I know very much so that his story is completely true.
He is LYING or his story in INACCURATE because what he described is NOT illegal. Why don't you learn the fvcking law asshole before you get shot. Moron.
Millenium, you remind me of a former acquaintence. All he ever wanted to do was be a cop. and he would have made a VERY VERY bad cop, let me tell you. he was in the service and 3 weeks before the gulf war he got some kind of hardship exception and got OUT of the service because he was too scared to go over to the gulf. what a chickenshit he turned out to be.
what sux is that he eventually became a cop. fortunately it's very far away from where i live now.
Threatening to shoot someone is something that a cop should NEVER be allowed to do in idle conversation. even if it is to say that someone will be shot by another cop. to imply that cops have the right to shoot someone for being a smart@ss is soo stupid as to be painful.
There was the story of another cop in Edison NJ, who apparently got out on disability and will receive disability pay the rest of his life: His disability?? he couldn't control his temper.
Stories like that makes one wonder WHO the cops are protecting us from?
Lee you are so fvcking obtuse and dim it make me want to cry. He needs to know the law to prevent his dumbass FROM being shot. I am not HOPING NOR WISHING anything upon him. It is actually a statement to protect him from getting fvcking shot the next time he does something stupid to a cop. I never said shoot him, nor did I say it would be for being a smart ass. If you had a 5th grade reading level you would understand that walking towards a cop after drinking is an aggressive move. He escalated the situation and is LUCKY more didn't happen. The cop could have taken it the wrong way and SHOT him. Do you understand any better yet, or do I need to dumb it down even more?
