You do know Republicans’ stated intention for reducing inflation is to cut social security, right?

Government spending is long overdue for austerity measures. We cannot rely on deficit spending forever. Either raise taxes or cut spending.

If there is anything worthy of massive cuts its defense spending. Trillions wasted on futuristic programs and bases all over the world seems silly.

Oh well.

I know people say trade schools a lot and in some cases that's great, but I think people seriously underestimate the level of restrictions that trade groups put on workers as well. While it's true these jobs pay well and there's a lot of demand for them, one of the reasons they pay well in a lot of places is those in a particular trade act as a cartel and restrict membership. So...if everyone went to trade school a lot of people are probably going to get locked out.
Sounds like you are thinking of labor union backed apprentice training, not trade schools. Not sure where that's coming from.

No, I’m saying once you get your trade credentials there are very large barriers to actually working in that trade, at least in NYC.

I cannot fathom what standing the State of Nebraska has to bring any action here.

edit:

This is crazy and sloppy. Effectively a nationwide injunction without saying so on a case that was already dismissed for lack of standing.

If Republicans on the courts are going to let red states just totally make up standing on whatever policies they don't like then there is decreasing point to having a country that democrats can never make policy in even when they hold office. It's tails we win heads you lose without any visible end.

The fact that so many people feel so entitled to other peoples hard earned money is sad, and frankly pathetic. Nobody made them sign up for college, or make other poor life choices.

Making middle class Americans pay for upper class peoples degrees is the height of elitism.

Take a minute to understand how people of your age got their degrees. People like you are entitled stupid people. You don’t understand how the world works.

I honestly wish you boomers had to live in the real world for a bit. You would learn a lot.

When corporations get subsidies and bailouts they don't complain, but god forbid the little people get anything. I've never heard Republicans bitch so much about anything, you never hear them when the rich get tax bailouts essentially. They are sick folks.

There's no big republican outcry over the hundreds of billions in farm subsidies and farm loan forgiveness going on right now...
Well. I'm no fan of handouts. But if anyone was going to get a handout I'd probably want it to be farmers. I'm very fond of eating.

Just imagine if Conservatives foamed at the mouth at the sight of their tax dollars being used to subsidize big oil, bail out wall street from their incompetence or award multi billion dollar government contracts to donors that don't deserve them the way that they rage at actual struggling Americans getting a modicum of help.

They will never understand how good they had it, and how lucky their circumstances were. Generally.

appealed to supreme court who'll shut it down like the prior challenges. it's getting tiring now. Between the time and cost of my undergrad to my doctorate it was significantly less than today's costs let alone the costs of a mere 15 years ago. there's benefits to being an old fart.

most people my age lean right and are appalled at biden administration doing this. my opinion after paying back my loans to various institutions and family... I don't give a fuck. let these kids not worry about their tuition. the fact these dumbasses are even saying it about stem grads is insanity, do you really want to halt this country's growth over a spits worth of money in the grand spending we already have?

there's no reason for fucker chuckerson to be shitting down the throats of these grads when he's the heir to a multi billion dollar company.

on the bright side major financial downfalls like in 2008 caused a wave of those arrogant egotistical jackwads to end their lives. there was a net benefit to society in those trying times.

If I recall, the most recent ruling from the district court judge in Texas was basically wishy-washy garbage. The judge didn't seriously consider the huge issue of standing (the plaintiffs aren't suffering a harm that a court could rectify [or really any harm], so they effectively have no standing to sue) and the judgment on "merit" was also pretty threadbare. Just another argle bargle ruling by a judge upset that a Democratic president is using powers available under the law.

bailouts for the rich are ok, bailouts for the working class is evil socialism, tells you everything you need to know about these idiots. If anything that money will flow right back into the economy, a trickle down that actually fucking works. The democrats should run on a platform that any tax cuts for the rich and businesses must include equal cuts for the working class people(retroactively even). I have no idea how that would work but fuck it, the rich have had it too good for way to long (since that meathead reagan, piss be upon him)
