ok, i tried the game with my rumblepad 2, the d-pad is okay, i was surprised they even let you control with analog stick but its hard to do anything more complicated than fireballs with it. dpad still not as responsive as i'd like but i suppose this is better than xbox controller's d-pad.
runs pretty smooth with v-sync on btw.
it is possible to get really good with the keyboard. Because directional buttons are actually 100% precise and FASTer on the keyboard vs the joystick.
Inside a joystick, there are only 4 switches akin to WASD. The difference here is The time it takes to press a Key on the keyboard is FAR less than the travel between the stick and activation of each microswitch. THUS keyboard if mastered should theoretically be superior to the stick because the physical constraints and the fact that you won't have the IFFY diagonal recognition problem in a joystick where it has to read down and left/right. on the keyboard you'd just press down/left or down/right simultaneously.
YES,, REMEMBER GUYS with CATALYST "ATI" you must set AA to "use ingame option" for it to work with SF 4
