Holy shit 1/3 of the board is dedicated to power regulation. Plus a custom multiphase inductor. With a shitload of decoupling caps, if there was space they put in a cap.

I don't like hitler videos, but this one made me laugh quite a bit.
If you are tired of hearing how nVidia has been pushing Cuda support into everything then I have some good news for you. The guys over at AMD have penned a deal with Pixelux. The guys are the one that developed the Digital Molecular Matter engine they have (and still are) a key part of the way Lucas Film and Lucas Arts create effects.
So what does this have to do with AMD? Well you see AMD in their usual fashion has been pushing an open platform; this is OpenCL (Cuda is also OpenCL just nVidia?s version). Well Pixelux is now going to work with AMD to develop OpenCL acceleration for their DMM engine.
The announcement between Pixelux and AMD can be credited to Mr. Dave Hoff, Director of Application Engineering over at AMD. The tie-up between AMD and Pixelux Entertainment fits perfectly in Cinema 2.0 movement [which by some reason, AMD did not mention during their Evergreen family briefings - in our opinion, BIG mistake]

So what is bullet? Another physics API or just a set of libraries to be used in conjunction with Havok? I'm guessing the latter but i might be wrong.

Could be they know something BSN doesn't and that something is giving them cause for concern in terms of confidence of things working out long-term so they don't want to put too much public spotlight on it just yet until they have more confidence nothing is going to fall thru. (as the publicity of it falling thru will then be all the more for the media to make hay over)

Sorry IDC, what do you mean?
The comment in bold is not mine.
BSN said that:"which by some reason, AMD did not mention during their Evergreen family briefings - in our opinion, BIG mistake."
From around the web you can gather info about what ATI showed in the event.
I just had a link with a photo from the event, that AMD presented and had slides for the Pixelux/Bullet/Havok deals.
AMD probably doesn't want just yet to put too much public spotlight on it but they showed it to the press at the event.

Yeah I was just commenting on BSN's comment...I was suggesting that while they (BSN) might view AMD to be in error for not heaping even more publicity on the budding Pixelux relationship, there could be A fairly benign but straightforward reason as to why AMD intentionally avoided doing so at that time.
Reasons that BSN might not be privy too or had not considered when they crafted that statement in their article.
I was just thinking out loud about the BSN quote, its probably immaterial.
OMG! Hilarious!

Maybe amd didn't mention it, because unlike nvidia they think most people will buy a graphics card for in game graphics? Most of us don't make movies. I am sure they have pushed it big time to the game developers and whatever.
Radeon 5750 and 5770 are scheduled for launch around the official launch date of Windows 7 [give or take around October 22nd-23rd, depending on what continent you live on]. The prices are set at just 149 US Dollars for 5750, with 5870 being priced at 199.
Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 and HD 5850 Smile for the Camera
While the Radeon HD 5870 maintains a long PCB, the HD 5850 is about as long as a Radeon HD 4870 (reference design)
