I like some A1 sauce on a steak. I don't see why people get so elitist about this. Taste is a personal preference - who cares if someone likes to put sauce on their steak?

I don't care if a person bastardizes their steak, I'm just letting them know that they're bastardizing their steak.

Look, if I want to take a t-bone, cut a hole in it, and bone it, I expect you to keep your damn mouth shut unless you plan on eating it!

Nah, I'm gonna tell you "that's sacrilegious" and then let you eat your bastardized steak. I'm gonna tell you the same thing if you eat fusion sushi rolls. I'm an elitist food snob and I don't give a fuck.

🙂

We're not food snobs, they are food ignorants.

On a good steak... maybe a little salt / pepper, if anything.
On an ok steak... Montreal Steak Seasoning
On a "bad" steak... Steak Sauce (A1 or other)

I learned to use Steak Sauce after meeting my wife's (then GF's) family and her dad's "steaks".. or hockey pucks, or leather slabs, or whatever you'd like to relate them too... lol

I used to use A1, but now I eat my steaks without the sauce. I like to savor the flavor of the juices. My dad likes to put salsa on his.

It depends. It's kind of like asking someone if they put salt on something. I add flavor if it's needed so if the steak I'm eating sucks but that's all I have to eat then I'll use steak sauce. If you cook your steak correctly you should never need it.

Probably the same people who vehemently bash restaurants and headphones/sound systems that aren't $5000. Quite a bit of elitism on here it seems.
There's snobs/elitists/what-have-you for about every possible thing on here. It's kind of hilarious actually.

Salt and ground pepper only. The only time I put some kind of sauce (steak/bbq/etc) on a steak (excluding special recipes) is when I'm reheating stuff in the microwave and need to hide that well-done microwave taste.

Steak sauce has no business on a properly seasoned and well cooked steak.

If it's a rib eye or prime I use sea salt and fresh ground pepper and baste it with a little butter on the grill.

If its a cheaper cut I will use steak seasoning of different varieties.

You do realize steak sauce is just another seasoning, right? You must suck at cooking steak if you need to add your salt and pepper "seasoning". Who gives a crap what anyone puts on their steak?

Heck no... just give me a steak thats still twitching and blooded... Thats how real steaks suppose to taste. That way, I can savor the blood and juices from my genetically modified, hormone injected cut of meat... Huhm.. uhm.. humh.. tasty.

On the other hand.. just pass me the A1 sauce ...

Salt/pepper = enhance.

Sauce = cover up.

if you can't grasp this concept then there is no point discussing the matter any further.

to all you steak snobs, salt & pepper change the taste of a steak too. You suck if you put ANYTHING on the steak, yes even 1 shake of pepper and salt ruin a steak just as badly as A1. definitely alters the natural flavor. So you S&P FOOLS are maybe even worse than A1 fans, simply because you ruin a steak just the same but you have the balls to belittle people who use A1.

No, you see, because S&P is a solid and A1 is a liquid so one is clearly an enhancement while the other is nothing but a cover up of the entire steak and...

Oh, wait, that's bullshit.
