Helll no, I never use anything. Hell I enjoy a cut of steak the most with nothing but the meat, I really haven't tasted a seasoning or sauce yet that makes it seem better.

When I was a kid I liked steak sauce...but I wasn't eating the best cuts of meat then, mostly cheap sirloin.

A little salt and pepper is all that is needed.

Steak sauce is good on burgers.

i do not use a steak sauce

*sometimes*, and its very rare, i will sear steaks in a pan and make a pan sauce. usually ill saute some shallots or onion or mushrooms or some such and deglaze the pan with some wine if im going to do anything.

generally though, i like mine medium-rare and enjoy it all by itself

If you have to sauce up your steak, then you are making it wrong or whoever's making it can't make steak.

i agree that if you *have* to something is definitely wrong, and generally when i cook and make a sauce, i dont slather meat/poultry/whatever in it but just enjoy having a little extra something on top. too many people overcook meat and even with a sauce its still lousy

my dad covers his steak in a1 or something every time, meh, such a waste.

A-1 is overpowering and meant to cover up crappy meat IMO

generally speaking on a good cut of steak i use S&P or some montreal steak seasoning.

sometimes Peter Lugers Steaksauce to give it a lil sweet crust on top of that nice kosher salt i sprinkle on.

A juicy steak has all the flavor it needs. However, the best steak I have ever had was a Hawaiian Ribeye marinated with sweet pineapple goodness.

Not normally. IMO, the BEST steak sauce is the juice that comes out of the steak...BUT, I've had a few steaks that HAD to have steak sauce in order to be edible...

duragezic, you forgot something about the fresh ground pepper. It has to be harvested from the Piper nigrum vine you grew yourself (bonus points if you get the kosher salt from your personal small rock salt deposit).

I travel to the Dead Sea weekly for my kosher salt.

A lot of steak sauces will just overtake the steak, and you'll taste nothing but that. Some though can bring out the best in a steak.

If most of you that think a well done steak is dry........... Then it's cooked wrong and you're a numbnut, and the cook is an idiot!
